, 50, Union Street, Whitefield, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, White River Junction, Vt., following a short illness. He was born in Gardner, Maine, son of Joseph and Maralyn (Goodwin) Lambert. He has resided in Whitefield for the past 13 years. Prior to that he lived in Whitehall, N.Y., and was employed as a carpenter for the Carpenter's Local Union No. 229, of Glens Falls, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. He was a life member of the VFW, and was also a member of the American Legion. He belonged to the Head Injury Support Group, Littleton, and was a past board member of the Traumatic Brain Injury Association. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and four-wheeler enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, Jini Lambert, Whitefield; his father, Joseph Lambert, Whitehall, N.Y.; a son, Michael Lambert II, presently serving in the USMC in Iraq, a daughter, Carla Baldwin of Whitehall, N.Y., two stepsons, Matthew Baker of Hyannis, Mass., Jeffery Baker of Providence, R.I., a stepdaughter, Kristin Brown of Whitefield; five grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Lambert of Whitehall, N.Y., Peter Lambert of Berlin, N.H., Dale Lambert of Groveton, N.H., three sisters, Francine Millette of Searsport, Maine, Marie Bartz of Boscawen, N.H., and Cora Sullivan of Canaan, N.H. Visiting hours will be held Saturday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a funeral immediately following at the Ross Funeral Home, Whitefield Chapel, 69 Lancaster Road, Whitefield, with Father George Majka officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post No. 41 of Whitefield. Burial will follow at the Park Street Cemetery.

, 69, of West Burke, Vt., passed away Sunday, April 11, 2004 at his home, surrounded by family and friends after an extended illness. He was born July 19, 1934 in Craftsbury, Vt., the son of Robert and Eila (Green) Moffatt. He graduated from Craftsbury Academy, Class of 1952, and Lyndon Teachers College in 1959, and earned a Master of Arts in education from Plattsbury University. He served in the U.S. Army Intelligence Corps in Germany. He had worked as a school teacher at the Barton Graded School and as a principal of the Sutton Graded School. He had also worked at the Security Fence Plant in Lyndonville. Larry had a lifetime love of the logging industry. He had been a self-employed logger for much of his life. He also spent many years as a Christmas tree grower and seller. He was active in the Republican Party and was active in property rights issues and was named 2003 Businessman of the Year Award. He taught guitar lessons and was a fiddle player who participated in local fiddler's contests. He organized and played in the Green Gem Band and played in the Danny and the Buck-O's Band. He was a member of the Lyndonville United Methodist Church. He is survived by his mother, Eila Moffatt of Craftsbury, Vt.; his beloved partner and friend, Sharon Newland of West Burke, Vt.; his children, Dean Moffatt and his wife Tunde of Philadelphia, N.Y., Cheryl Whitaker and her husband Ed of South Ryegate, Vt., and Michael Moffatt and his wife Andrea of Newark, Vt.; the children's mother, Jeanne Williams of East Burke, Vt.; seven granddaughters, Lisa, Christine, Jennifer, Heather, Hilary, Hannah and Arianna; his grandson, Mitchell; two stepgrandchildren, Atilla and Amanda; by five great-grandchildren; his sister, Virginia Zahner of Erie, Pa.; and his brothers, James Moffatt and his wife Joan of Craftsbury, Vt., and Andrew Moffatt and his wife Eva of Craftsbury, Vt. , 57, of Bardstown, Ky., and formerly of St. Johnsbury, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004 in Bardstown. The daughter of Wallace and Erdine (Gibney) Hall, she was born June 7, 1946 in Burlington and attended school in Winooski. She worked for a time for St. Johnsbury Trucking before marrying Richard (Dick) Spencer April 3, 1970. She enjoyed gardening, bowling and volunteering for Navy Relief, Toys For Tots and other children's charities. She was a member of the auxiliaries of the American Legion and VFW. Linda is survived by her husband, Dick Spencer of Walden; daughter and son-in-law, Bobbi and James Brimblecombe of Marshfield; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Terri Spencer of Bardstown, Ky.; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Janice Hall of Colchester; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Dale Degreenia of Danville; brother, Timothy Hall of St. Johnsbury; sister-in-law, Maria Hall of West Burke; five granddaughters, Donna Kay, Savanah and Baeli Spencer of Bardstown, and Tess and Jordan Brimblecombe of Marshfield; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, April 14, at the Sayles Funeral Home between the hours of 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home Thursday, April 15, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. , 82, of 552 Whitefield Road, Dalton, N.H., died Saturday, April 10, 2004 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, following a brief illness. She was born in Dalton the daughter of Jerry and Stella (Crane) Brooks. Over the years, she had been employed at The Mountain View Hotel, Gilman Paper Company, Sweet Wood Handle Company, Littleton, and Manchester Knitted Fashions, Whitefield, where she was employed for more than 20 years. She also spent much of her lifetime as a caregiver for her mother and sister. She was an avid gardener, and loved berry picking. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul; and her sister, Virginia. She is survived by a son, George Brooks of Dalton, N.H.; a grandson, Scott Brooks; and a great-grandson, Dalton Brooks of Waxahachie, Texas. Friends may call at the Ross Funeral Home, Whitefield Chapel, on Tuesday, April 13, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 14, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. , 49, of Glover, Vt., formerly of Winooski, died Sunday, April 11, 2004, with his loving family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Colchester, Vt., Nov. 10, 1954, the son of Anita (Barber) Cummings and the late Bernard Cummings Sr. Dan was a graduate of Winooski High School, Class of 1972; the University of Vermont, Class of 1977; and received a master's degree from Lesley College in 1997. He was married in St. Stephen Catholic Church in Winooski on Oct. 22, 1983 to Susan M. Beaulieu. Dan was employed at Barton Academy and Graded School as a physical education health teacher. His involvement with the children of the Northeast Kingdom was immeasurable. Dan was the president of the Lake Region Little League from 1990 to 1998. He ran the Orleans Central Supervisory Union Junior Hoop League from 1992 to 1996. He coached varsity softball and JV baseball at Lake Region Union High School. He coached junior high girls and boys basketball at the Glover and Barton schools from 1991 to 2001. He coached Babe Ruth baseball from 1998 to 2000. His life also included the passion for hunting and fishing. He had a true respect for life, and was one with the land. He touched the lives of many, young and old alike, and will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Susan M. Cummings; his son, Daniel Cummings Jr.; his mother, Anita Cummings of Winooski; his sisters, Judy Reed and her husband Damon of Warren, Vt., Cindy Parizo and her husband Homer of Richmond, and Bonnie and her civil union partner Flower Kotkes of Essex; his brothers, Bernie Cummings Jr. and his wife Linda of Colchester, John Cummings of Abilene, Texas, Glenn Cummings and his wife Ronalyn of Colchester, and Robin Cummings and his wife Lisa of Milton; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jeannette Beaulieu Audette and Edward Audette of Bristol, Vt./Kissimmee, Fla.; brothers-in-law, David Beaulieu and his wife Kim of Milton, and Jamie Beaulieu of Colchester; sisters-in-law, Sandra Lane and her husband Scott of Essex Jct., Shelley Beaulieu and her partner Kim Dean of St. Albans, and Kathy Prehoda and her husband David of Bristol; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as a host of friends, neighbors and colleagues. , passed away at the Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center, Saturday, April 10, 2004, at the age of 93. "Middy" was born Dec. 28, 1910, in Cole Corner, the ninth of 12 children born to Azro A. and Lottie Belle (Parker) Hawkins. She attended schools in Barton, Goss Hollow and Bradford and had one year of nurse's training before she married Earle Sizen on June 23, 1934. She and her husband moved to their farm on West Hill Road in St. Johnsbury in 1954. Middy was active in the home dem group, knitting club and both of them were Farm Bureau members. Middy is lovingly remembered by her family for her knitting, crocheting, sewing and many crafts that she did. She was a homemaker and partner with her husband in farming while raising their five children. She is survived by her son, Gary and his wife Marie (82322 Five Lakes Road, Bush, LA 70431; her daughter, Joan and her husband Lenny (51 Cross Ave., St. Johnsbury, VT 05819); her son-in-law, Nathan Daniels of Somers, Conn.; by one sister-in-law, Pauline Hawkins of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; also by 13 grandchildren, Geneva Granger, Sharmon Simoneau, James, Daren and Shane Sizen, Jack Daniels, Serena Peck, Georgia Greenwood, Tammi Stahler, Kevin, Shirl, Tonya and Jesse Sizen; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Earle in 1983; her son, Norman, in 1984; her son, Cleon, in 1987; and her daughter, Clare, in 2003. She was also predeceased by grandchildren, Robert Sizen and Lenore Daniels; and great-grandchildren, Julie Granger and Michelle Sizen; and all 11 of her siblings. Services will be held this Friday at 2 p.m. at Sayles Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay Sprout officiating. , of St. Johnsbury, passed away peacefully at her Colonial Apt. 28 residence with her children by her side early Monday afternoon, April 12, 2004, after a week's illness. She was 94. She was born in Attleboro, Mass., June 26, 1909, the daughter of Charles and Annie C. (Blakney) Weldon. She married Daniel Dyer July 22, 1933 and they had 68 wonderful years together, many of those years residing on Clay Hill. He passed away July 24, 2001. She was predeceased by a son, Brian, in 1987; and by her only brother, Roland Weldon and his wife Agnes. Kay received a Bachelor of Arts in French and Spanish from Boston University in 1930 and was awarded with membership into Phi Beta Kappa. She did her graduate work in library science at the University of Vermont. Mrs. Dyer was an assistant school librarian at St. Johnsbury Academy from 1968-1981. Previously she had served as district secretary for her husband's Essex/Caledonia School District. She began her teaching career in 1931 at Craftsbury Academy as a foreign language teacher. Kay was a longtime trustee of the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum and served as a docent for the art gallery there. She was affiliated with Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, the St. Johnsbury College Club, Conversation Circle, Caledonia/South Essex Retired Teachers, and the St. Johnsbury Chapter of AARP. Politically, she was very anti-war and a staunch supporter of women's and minorities' rights. Music and books enriched her life right up through her last few days. Kay's piano was a lifelong companion and she played for productions throughout her life, from the days of playing for silent movies up through several Academy musical productions. She was also able to play by ear. Her musical talent seems to be especially passed on to the generation of her great-grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Barry James Dyer and his wife Kay (Coburn) of Sun City Center, Fla. (1501 hacienda Dr. 33573); one daughter, Clare Louise Dyer of Clearwater, Fla. (2620 Cove Cay Dr., No. 704, 33760); daughter-in-law, Merrie Ellen (Sanborn) Dyer of Cazenovia, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Barry's children: Margaret Moore Dyer and Daniel Coburn Dyer, Clare's children: Laura Allendorf Fenninger and her husband Randy, Jeanne Allendorf Alexander and her husband Peter, Grant Michael Allendorf and his wife Susan, and Brian's children: Thomas Brian Dyer and his wife Kristi, Jason Streeter Dyer; six great-grandchildren, Ryan and Danielle Allendorf, John and Thomas Fenninger, and Katie and Elizabeth Alexander; and one nephew, Douglas Welden and his wife Jane and their daughters Joan and Katie of Attleboro, Mass. Among many dear friends was a special friend of both Dan and Kay's, Frank B. Easton Jr. of Corinth. With a family get-together already planned on the weekend of her birthday, memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, June 26, at 2 p.m., at the Sayles Funeral Home. Refreshments will follow at the St. Johnsbury House immediately following the memorial service. , passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 13, 2004, at The Pines Rehabilitation and Health in Lyndon. His stay at The Pines was very brief. He was born in Danville, March 5, 1914, one of five children born to Charles and Lillian (Winn) Badger. Levi graduated from Danville High School in 1932 and spent nearly his entire life on Pumpkin Hill in Danville. On Oct. 27, 1962, he married Clara Austin. He loved their Trestle Road home and his constant companion Willie, his Brittany Spaniel. The Badgers moved to 319 Cross Ave., St. Johnsbury, two years ago. Levi retired from The Peck Co. in 1979 where he was a plumbing and heating installer and had previously worked at H.P. Hood and Sons. Levi was a member of Grace United Methodist Church since 1947 and a 50-year member of the Masons, Passumpsic Lodge 27 F & AM. Levi served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps in North Africa and the Mediterranean. He was one of the founding growers for the local Farmers Market and took particular pride in his blueberries. He and Clara were charter members of the Jay-Ville Balsams snowmobile club and enjoyed their Thursday breakfast group at Tim's. He is survived by his wife, Clara; brother, Fred and his wife Ellie of Pumpkin Hill in Danville; brother-in-law, Gordon S. Austin of Castleton; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Emma Peavey and Hazel Dowdell; an infant sister; and a young brother. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, at 2 p.m., at the Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Marshall officiating. Committal services will be held at the church with burial at a later date at Passumpsic Cemetery. , former resident of West Burke, passed away early Thursday, April 15, 2004, at a Norway, Maine, hospital. He was born in Salem, Mass., Dec. 11, 1914. In his working years he was employed at C.H. Goss Co. He and his wife Harriet had resided at the Ledgeview Living Center in West Paris since moving from West Burke last fall. The Remons' strong Seventh-day Adventist faith was a pinnacle factor in their lives. It had to be; he was predeceased by all three of his sons, George, Percy and Roy. Funeral services will be held in St. Johnsbury, Sunday, April 18, at 2 p.m., at the Sayles Funeral Home. Pastor Richard Wright will officiate. Committal services will be held at the funeral home with burial later at St. Johnsbury Center Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. until the start of the service. of Lyndon Center, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, April 17, 2004, at her home with her family by her side, at the age of 84. She was born in St. Johnsbury, Aug. 24, 1919, daughter of the late Thomas H. and Laura M. (LaChance) Williams. She attended St. Johnsbury Schools and was a member of St. Johnsbury Academy's Class of 1937. On Oct. 27, 1940, she married Cedric J. Liberty Sr. They lived in the St. Johnsbury area and later moved to Lyndon Center in 1962. Bea was active in her community and was a very dedicated member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 10038 of Lyndonville and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 30 of Lyndon for the last 50 years, holding many offices, including president. She was lifetime member of the Tom Breslin Center and was a member of the Lyndon Historical Society. She enjoyed helping people, quilting, sewing, going shopping, spending time at camp in South Wheelock and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include three sons, C. James Liberty Jr. and his wife Shirley of Lyndonville, Peter T. Liberty of Lyndon Center, and John L. Liberty of South Wheelock; her daughter, Nancy Kidnocker and her husband Robert of Chillicoth, Ohio; eight grandchildren, James, Thomas, Susan, Jeffrey, Robert, Peter, Kari and Linda; 16 great-grandchildren; her brother, Raymond Williams and his wife Peggy of Florida; two sisters, Pauline Hawkins of St. Johnsbury and Arlene Trask and her husband George of Randolph; six sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Williams of St. Johnsbury, Jean Liberty of Levittown, Pa., Madeline Garten and Joanne Chaput, both of Chicopee, Mass., Margaret Liberty of Burlington, and Betty Salvadore and her husband Paul of Massachusetts; two brothers-in-law, Willard Liberty and his wife Patricia of Pennsylvania and Leonard Liberty and his wife Beatrice of Windsor Locks, Conn.; nieces; nephews; and many wonderful friends.
