, 84, Media, Pa., and Joe's Pond, West Danville, Vt., a decorated World War II Air Force fighter pilot, died Monday, June 7, 2004, at Crozer Chester Medical Center, Chester, Pa. Born in Chicago, Ill. to Arthur A. and Esther L. (nee Anderson) Reihmer, he was raised in Elmhurst, Ill. He graduated from York Community High School, Elmhurst, Ill. While attending Wheaton College, Wheaton, Ill., he entered cadet flying school at Randolph Field, San Antonio, Texas, which was the forerunner of the Air Force Academy. Upon graduating as a 2nd Lieutenant, he entered the U.S. Army Air Corps. When the Army Air Corps became the U.S. Air Force, he attained the rank of Captain and flew P-38s and P-51s in the 13 months of combat in the European Theatre of Operations with the 77th Fighter Squadron of the 20th Fighter Group. Mr. Reihmer was shot down into the Baltic Sea, floated for 33 hours before being rescued by a Swedish freighter picking its way through mined waters. He was taken to Stockholm, Sweden, flown back to England, then to the Pentagon for debriefing. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster. In October 1944, Mr. Reihmer married Elizabeth Ross Ide of Drexel Hill, Pa., for whom his plane was named "The Filly from Philly." After discharge from the service, he helped organize the Pennsylvania Air National Guard at the Philadelphia Airport which subsequently moved to Willow Grove, Penn. He attained the rank of Major. Mr. Reihmer graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Zoology, and then served four years in Ethiopia as a missionary with his wife and children. After returning to the states, he became interim pastor of the Stonybank Community Church in Glen Mills, Pa. In his multifaceted career, he was a civilian attached to the Navy to instruct Navy personnel on the operation of catapult and arresting gear on aircraft carriers. He was involved with RCA in computer engineering; with New York Ship Building Corporation as project manager on nuclear submarines; with Howell Louis Shay, architect as a planner; with Southco, Inc. of Concordville as materials control manager and plant manager. He retired from Southco in 1986. With all of his background and accomplishments, Mr. Reihmer's first commitment was to honor and serve the Lord. He was a member of the Blue Church in Springfield, Pa. for 47 years and served as councilman, building committee chairman, youth Adviser, Sunday School teacher, and Worship Committee member. When in Vermont he attended the Passumpsic Community Baptist Church and had many friends at Union Baptist Church in Waterford, Vt. and Community Bible Church in Littleton, N.H. He was also a member of the Princeton Officers Society, the Escapee and Evadee Society, and the still active 77th Fighter Squadron. He volunteered for the Zipper Club at Crozer Chester Medical Center. He spent his summers for the last 25 years at his residence on Joe's Pond, West Danville, Vt. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth (nee Ide) Reihmer; four daughters: Adrianne Galletta of Bushkill, Pa., Sharon Reihmer (Michaud) of St. Johnsbury, Vt., Carol Works of Lebanon, N.H. and LeeAnn Trusty of Media, Pa.; a brother, Dr. Vernoy A. Reihmer of Hemet, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by granddaughter, Elizabeth Works. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at The Blue Church, 940 Baltimore Pike, Springfield, Pa. Visitation is at 10 a.m. today at The Blue Church. , age 39, formerly of Milford, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2004 in Tuftonboro, N.H. Beloved son of Roy L. and Deanna Wong-Yan Watanabe, Sr., of Milford, he was born on Sept. 15, 1964 in the Bronx, N.Y. and was a longtime resident of Milford. Roy was a motorcycle technician with Heritage Harley Davidson, N.H. In addition to his parents, he leaves two children, Roy Li and Joshua A. Watanabe; a brother, Erik D. Watanabe and his fiancée Linda Lavena; four nephews, James, Joseph, Jordan and Jeremy; his loving companion, Donna; and a former spouse, Lori Watanabe, all of Milford. , 69, of Golden View Nursing Home, Meredith, N.H., passed away at the nursing home Friday, June 11, 2004, following a long illness. He was born in Littleton, son of William and Gertrude (Whalen) Wright. He grew up in Twin Mountain, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and was stationed in Germany. Following his tour of duty, he worked as a computer operator for Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut, and later for the Sanders Company of Nashua, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the AMC, was an avid hiker, achieving the 4,000-foot club, and also loved skiing, both downhill and cross country. He is survived by two brothers, John Wright, of Lancaster, and William Wright, of Twin Mountain; and a sister, Elizabeth Eastman, of Campton, N.H. , 74, passed away June 11, 2004, after a brief battle with cancer. John was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Fitchburg, Mass., the son of the late Thomas B. and Flora D. (McDonald) Mulholland. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 through 1950, where he learned the printing trade while serving on several ships in the North Atlantic. On Nov. 20, 1954, he married Reta Pearl Chamberlain, daughter of the now late Harvey O. and Sadie Chamberlain of Lyndonville, Vt. He worked as a printer for the Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C., for more than 17 years before taking a job with the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), the union which represented the printers. He worked for many years as a contract negotiator for AFGE, the largest federal employee union representing 600,000 federal and D.C. government workers nationwide and overseas. During his long and distinguished career there, he was named director of Labor-Management Relations (later called Field Services) at the union's National Headquarters in Washington, D.C., which position he held until his retirement in 1992. Later he had an opportunity to be considered for a Presidential Appointment to head the Federal Impasses Panel, but he had already moved with his wife to Vermont by that time and reportedly said, "No thanks, I'd rather go fishing." John remained actively interested in workers' rights and readily joined picket lines whenever there was a local strike. He became involved in local politics and was known for his outspokenness at town meetings. He enjoyed Vermont very much. He loved to go fishing, and good-naturedly endured teasing as a "flatlander" by his friends and relatives. He especially enjoyed Vermont's wildlife and beautiful scenery. He also enjoyed fine dining, traveling in Canada, reading and watching western movies. John is survived by his wife Reta of the family home; daughter Kathleen M. Isabell of Sheffield, Vt.; brother Thomas B. and his wife Beverly of Lunenburg, Mass.; brother David M. and his wife Maureen of Tolland, Conn.; his wife's brother, Dale Chamberlain and his wife Yolie of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; his wife's sister-in-law, Mollie Chamberlain of Lyndonville, Vt.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Lyndonville, Vt., at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 16. Burial will be in Vermont Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Randolph Center, Vt., Friday, June 17.

Mrs. Berry was born in East Concord, March 27, 1932, the daughter of George and Angie (Hovey) Boutwell. She was a member of the East Concord Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 39, and the United Methodist Women. Marion was devoted to her family, her church family, neighbors and friends. She was an angel who walked among us on earth and now is an Angel who watches over us from above. Family members include her husband, Herbert E. , 89, of Michaud Manor, died Monday evening, June 14, 2004, at the Country Village Health Care Center, Lancaster, N.H. Mr. LaRochelle was born in Magog, Quebec, on July 9, 1914, the son of Emile and Odelia (Caya) LaRochelle. Willie was raised in Canada and as a young adult moved to South Lunenburg with his parents to operate the family farm. He later resided in Gilman for many years and had been a resident of Michaud Manor for seven years. He was a communicant of St. Theresa's and St. Leo's Catholic churches of Gilman and Lunenburg. He was also a member of the Gilman Senior Citizens. He is survived by three nieces, Rachel Kimball of Ellsworth, Maine, Genese Blanchette of Morgan, Vt., and Madeleine St. Cyr of Gilman; and several grand nieces and nephews. His two sisters, Gemma Pelletier and Odelia Bosse, predeceased him. A time for visitation will be held Saturday morning June 19, from 9-10:45 a.m., at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian burial will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. at All Saints Church, Lancaster. The Rev. Raymond Ball, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.

, 90, formerly of 26 Pine Ave., West Long Branch, N.J., died Monday, June 14, 2004, at the Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center in Lyndon, Vt. She was born April 23, 1914 in New Brunswick, N.J., daughter of the late William and Agnes (Petrick) Williamson. She was a graduate of the New Brunswick High School, Class of 1931. On Nov. 7, 1933, she married Augustus P. Brown. A strong and independent woman, Myrt worked with her husband in his business "Gus Brown Painting and Decorating" for over 40 years in West Long Branch, N.J. She had been an active member of the Republican Club of West Long Branch. Myrt enjoyed gardening, her home and spending time with family. Survivors include her son, William R. "Bill" Brown and his wife Karen of Kirby, Vt.; and her close friend, Ginnie Hauter of Township of Ocean, N.J. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Augustus Brown, in 1999; two brothers, Robert and William Williamson; and many good friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 17, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home with the Rev. Joan Vincent officiating. Friends may meet with the family beginning at 10:30 a.m. before the start of the service. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in West Long Branch, N.J. , 88, of Railroad Street, Island Pond, passed away at his home Monday, June 14, 2004. He was born in Highgate, March 24, 1916, the son of Clifford and Isabelle (Larabee) Bingham. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He worked as a foreman of bridge building for the Canadian National Railroad. Howard was a member of the American Legion Island Pond Post 80 and the VFW Island Pond Random Post 2309. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, gardening and reading western stories, and was an avid Red Sox fan. On April 2, 1963, Howard married the former Dorothy Deth, who survives him. He is also survived by his children, Roena Bingham of Island Pond, Howard Bingham Jr. of Island Pond, Rachel Garfield of Island Pond, Ethel Matos of Island Pond, Patty Lewis of Manchester, N.H., and Hazel Morrison of St. Johnsbury; his grandchildren, Naomi Benoit, Tonya Kidder, Tabatha Young, Adam Young, Felicia Garfield, Eric Garfield, Sabrina Garfield, and Gabrielle Garfield; his siblings, Francis Lumbra of St. Johnsbury, Evelyn Drew of West Burke, Marshall Bingham of West Burke, and Velma Grant of Derby Line; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. , 37, of Phoenix, Ariz., died June 4 after a brief illness. Jim was born June 20, 1966, in Pennsylvania and grew up in McIndoes Falls, Vt. A 1984 graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy, he was an avid sportsman and athlete and participated in many sports including football, hockey, skiing and ultimate frisbee. Jim was in an auto accident in 1988, which left him a quadriplegic and wheelchair bound. He touched more people's lives and accomplished more than most able-bodied people in his 16 years in a wheelchair. He completed his college courses and graduated from UVM before moving to Arizona in 1992. He was employed by the city of Phoenix, initially with Parks and Recreation, and then as a personal aide to former Mayor Skip Rimsza. His focus was transportation and disability issues. Jim and his companion dog Elam were easily recognizable walking through the streets of Phoenix. They constantly broke down barriers for people unsure how to communicate with a person in a wheelchair. Jim appreciated many things in life, especially music, the Montreal Canadiens and his many friends which he left too soon. Jim is survived by his mother, Agnes Brahaney; and companion dog, Elam. With fond and loving memories we remember the life of James with a memorial service Sunday, June 27, at 1 p.m., at St. Johnsbury Academy. Jean had worked for MET Life Insurance Co. as a secretary for many years in Springfield, Mass. She had owned and operated a campground with her husband in Victory. Other interests included her love of cats, traveling and dancing. Survivors include her daughter, Virginia Carol Henderson of Victory; two grandchildren, Katie Jean Henderson of Victory, and Matthew Martinez of Coronado, Calif.; and a special caregiver, Mary Jane Knight of Victory. She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Henderson (1971); a daughter, Bonnie Jean Martinez; and a brother, Elwin Carlton. , 89, of Lyndonville, Vt., passed away Thursday, June 17, 2004, at the Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center in Lyndonville. She was born in Barton, Vt., March 6, 1915, the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Grace A. (Brown) Devereaux. She moved with her family to Jersey City, N.J., when she was a young child. Later she met Albert L. Miller and they married Aug. 7, 1931. They moved to Sutton, Vt., and then to Weston, Conn., where Albert died Sept. 6, 1965. They had two daughters, Carol G. and Janet. C. Doris moved back to Lyndonville and married William L. Eckhoff on Jan. 24, 1970. They lived on Lake Willoughby in the summers and Palm Coast, Fla., winters. William had a daughter, Tina. He died Sept. 8, 1991. Doris worked at the Darling Inn and was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. She loved time with her family, winters in Florida, flowers and birds. She was a 4-H leader, a member of the American Legion, a foster parent and a Hungarian refugee host family. Her family members include her children, Carol Barlow of West Burke, Vt., and her late husband Lawrence Barlow, Tina Mohr and her husband Tom Featheringham of Sutton, Vt., and Janet Clark and her husband Jeff Robinson of Franklin, N.H.; her grandchildren, Sean A. Barlow of Sutton, Paul and K. Barlow of West Burke, Rebecca Clark and Joel Hernendez of Kansas City, Kan., and Cristen and Joe Tolpin of Canterbury, N.H.; her great-grandchildren, Stacy and Erin Barlow of Barton, Krista and Payton Barlow of West Burke, and Kaylee McLure of Newport, Vt.; and her sister-in-law, Louise Devereaux of Lyndonville.
