Bobby Dwight Medlock
....show
, 49, died on Monday, May 17, 2004, in Texas from a short but painful battle with bone cancer. For those who knew him, he was always blowing into town with his well-known grin, "Like the cat that ate the canary." Friends never knew if he would arrive by thumb, Cadillac, a beat-up old truck, or a motorcycle, be it winter, spring, summer, or fall. When he had that itch the road would take him; where it led he would follow. He had a love for life, travel, motorcycles, and music. His friends and his family were his truest love! He was a generous soul to all whose path he came upon. He enjoyed telling and expanding on stories of adventures and times shared with his dear friends from the Northeast Kingdom. His favorite stomping grounds was Jasper's in Newport. There was never a time in his life when he would not give what he had to another, be it his favorite guitar, jacket, or shirt off his back. (Coulda even been the boots off his feet!) He leaves behind a son, Joshua Medlock, of Austin, Texas; his beloved mother, Jean Dexter, of Kingsland, Texas, with whom he resided and for whom he cared during her battle with cancer; his father, Bob Medlock; his sisters: Jackie Willis and her husband, Keith, of Texas, Vicky Lucier of Burlington, Shelly Pfenning of Sharon; and Lisa Morse of Florida; by his brothers Mike Medlock of Florida, Brian Medlock of California, Ronnie Morse of Florida, Harold "Corky" Morse Jr. of Eden, and Timmy Morse of Jay; and many nieces and nephews. He shall remain in loved ones' hearts forever like the river that flows and the wind that blows on a hot summer's eve. Like the flowers that continue to grow, he will never really leave. Donations in Mr. Medlock's memory may be made to Jean Dexter, P.O. Box 1986, Kingsland, Texas 78639 to defray medical costs. "So here is a toast to Bobby from our hearts to yours - play your favorite memory song that reminds you of him. Think of him often with love and joy. Keep the stories going! Live, love, and laugh. For sometimes to keep things going, you have to just let things go. Thank you Dwight for allowing us to be a part of your life. With eternal love, the family."
