, 12, beloved Littleton student, passed away on December 15, 2004 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Erik was born on March 20, 1992 a son of Nigel G. and Cynthia M. (Locke) Wright in Littleton, N.H. He attended Lakeway Elementary School and Daisy Bronson Middle School. Erik was diagnosed with cancer in 1996 at the age of four. He bravely lived well with pain and sickness most of his young life. He enjoyed school and greatly loved his close friends. Erik was loving and giving to his friends and family. He was dedicated to his job at the Locke Family Corn Maze this past summer and loved meeting people and delighted many with his sense of humor and joy of life. Erik enjoyed video games and collecting Pokemon and Yu Gi Ho cards with great passion. When Erik was well enough, he liked to walk dogs and pet cats at Above the Notch Humane Society Shelter. He was known to many in the community which prayed and cared for him and his family. Erik is dearly loved by his family and friends; he will be greatly missed in their lives. His parents, Nigel G. and Cynthia M. Wright of Littleton; a sister, Sarah Wright of Littleton; his paternal grandparents, Richard and Eileen Wright of Littleton; his maternal grandparents, Amos J. and Thelma Locke of Lisbon, several aunts, uncles, and cousins survive Erik. SERVICES - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at 3:30 p.m. at The First Congregational Church with Rev. Edward E. Lopeman officiating. There will be a gathering immediately following in the Church Hall. , 83, of the Lane Shops, Montpelier, Vt., died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, in the Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin. Born March 22, 1921, in North Calais, she was the daughter of Andrew N. and Agnes (White) Dunham. She attended Calais schools and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1938. In 1939, she married Wallace "Todd" Holt in Plainfield. Following their marriage, they made their home in Marshfield where they operated their farm. He died in 1945. In 1957, Rena married Irl Mears in South Woodbury. They also made their home in Marshfield and she assisted him in running the farm. He died in 1968 after which she continued to operate the farm for 10 more years. In earlier years, she worked as a cook and chambermaid in a boarding house and was a childrens' caregiver in the Central Vermont area. In later years, she had been a kitchen employee at the Gary Home, had worked at the Trading Post and the Pioneer Apartments, all in Montpelier. She was a member of the Cabot Farmers' Cooperative Creamery. She enjoyed volunteer work for the CVAC and the Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice. She especially liked outdoor activities. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Randall of St. Johnsbury; three sons, Reginald Holt and his wife Connie of Marshfield, Wendell Holt and his wife Bonnie of Williamstown, and George Mears and his wife Dorene of Marshfield; two stepdaughters, Marlene (Johnson) Sutcliffe and Irlene "Snooks" Huntington, both of East Long Meadow, Mass.; a stepson, Richard Mears and his wife Barbara of Barre; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby West of Barre Town, and Margaret Ennis of Plainfield. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two sons at birth and two brothers, Edwin Dunham and Andrew Dunham Jr. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m., in the Macedonia Baptist Church in Plainfield. Later interment will be made in the New Discover Cemetery in Marshfield. Howard G. Conley

, 88, of Glover, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, in Lebanon, N.H., with family at his side. He was born April 29, 1916, in Westmore, Vt., a son of Charles and Myrtle (Hinton) Conley. On May 21, 1946, he married Beverly Ferrin, who survives him. Howard founded Green Mountain Fence Company in Glover, and operated the business from 1951 until 1994. The company is still operated by his son, Bruce, and daughter-in-law, Janice. He helped promote a race track in Morrisville with Ken Squires and C.C. Miller, which was a stepping stone for Ken Squires to go on to become a NASCAR announcer. In 1973, Howard hosted the area's first rock concert on his farm in Glover. He owned and operated Howard Auto Sales in Newport, where he sold American Motors products and Willys Jeeps. He also owned Howard Auto Sales in Barton where he sold International trucks, Chevy cars and Arctic Cat and Motor Ski snowmobiles. He held membership with the Vermont Christmas Tree Association, where he received an award in 1991. It was one of many awards during his lifetime. Howard raised black Angus beef cattle, and hunted with his sons which was his favorite pastime. He held membership with the Masonic Union Lodge 55 of Orleans and the Odd Fellows Club. He was a member of the Glover School Board for 20 years, the Vermont School Board Association for 17 years and he was co-founder of NCIC in 1975. Howard dealt in real estate, buying and selling property for many years. He also was president of the Orleans County Fair Association for over 30 years. In addition, Howard served as past president of the State Fair Association. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Conley of Glover; and by the following children, Joseph Vizinho and his wife Judy of Barton, Jim Miller of Riverside, Calif., Larry Conley and his wife Gloria of Glover, Bruce Conley and his wife Janice of Glover, Douglas Conley and his wife Judy of Glover, and Donna Perron and her husband Edward of Barton. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Kimberly Grieco, April Bodette, Gwen Chocquette, Brian Conley, Craig Conley, Claudette Conley, Luke Conley, Darren Perron, Melissa Plowman and Dwayne Perron; and by 10 great-grandchildren, Christopher, Aimee and Ryan Grieco, Dylan, Dustin and Denver Bodette, Addison and Emilie Choquette, Ashley, Logan and Brooklyn Conley; and by his devoted dog, Tippy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers and a sister, Jessie, Cyril, Burton and Charlie Conley, and Mildred Brooks. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, Elm Street, Barton. Members of the Masonic Union Lodge are requested to meet Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home for a Masonic service. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the Barton United Church with the Rev. Michael Caldwell officiating. Friends may also call from 1 p.m. until the hour of the funeral Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the church. A reception will follow in the vestry downstairs hosted by the Glover Women's Union. , 63, of Groveton, N.H., died Friday morning, Dec. 17, 2004, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon. Mr. Irving was born in Lancaster, N.H., July 8, 1941, the son of Vernard and Edith (Goddard) Irving. Joe was a lifetime resident of Groveton. Before retiring he was employed for 38 years at Groveton Paper Company. Family members include his wife, Sharon A. Irving of Groveton; a son, Ryan M. Irving of Belmont; a daughter, Robin L. Irving of Moretown, Vt.; two granddaughters, Paige and Ella Irving of Belmont; a brother, Harry Irving of Maidstone; two sisters, Nena Gonyer of Maidstone, and Teter Swift of Groveton. There are no visiting hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

, 72, of 557 Union Street, Littleton, N.H., passed away at the Littleton Regional Hospital, Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, following a lengthy illness. She was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., daughter of Bernard and Doris (Story) Willson. She was employed for 49 years by the New England Telephone Company, working as a telephone operator in Littleton and Manchester facilities, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Her family is quoted as saying, "A loving radiance shined from her soul, to light up the lives of those around her. Her heart, that worked so diligently to provide others with unconditional love, support and guidance, is now at peace. Although Eleanor's presence will be missed tremendously by all, those that love her know her spirit is forever alive and living within them." She was predeceased by four brothers, Raymond, William, Ralph and Stanley. She is survived by two sons, Bryce Jordan of Manchester, N.H., and Tomas Jordan of Littleton, N.H.; a daughter, Marilea Jordan of Littleton, N.H., five grandchildren, Rhiannon Jordan-Woodbury, Emilie Jordan-Bissonnette, Dillon Bissonnette, Mallorie Bissonnette and Ariel Pelletier; three brothers, Donald Willson of North Concord, Vt., Richard Way of Lancaster, N.H., and Harold Way of Colebrook, N.H.; three sisters, Mabel Noble of Westville, Ind., Marilyn Kragh of Crofton, Md., and Lois Cole of Bow, N.H.; and nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will take place at the Ross Funeral Home, Littleton Chapel, on Thursday, Dec. 23, from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the spring, time and date to be announced at a later date. , 87, of Monroe, N.H., died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at the Grafton County Nursing Home, North Haverhill, N.H. She was born in Colebrook, N.H., Aug. 27, 1917, a daughter of Thomas and Carrie (Jeffers) Riley. Raised in Colebrook, she moved to Monroe in 1945 with her husband Ralph, where they operated their dairy farm until retirement in 1984. Mrs. Hammond was an active member of the Monroe community where she was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church; a 4-H leader; active with RSVP; and helped start the Monroe Senior Citizens Group. She was an enthusiastic role model as a wife, mother of six daughters, homemaker, good neighbor and community servant. Althea's vitality and kindness is remembered by many. She also worked in the kitchen at the Monroe Consolidated School. She married Ralph Albert Hammond on Oct. 9, 1934, and he predeceased her on Oct. 10, 2003. Survivors include six daughters, Gloria Moore of Monroe, Edith Craig of Vail, Ariz., Virginia Cinnamond of Monroe, Phyllis Keenan of East Ryegate, Vt., Barbara Farr of Monroe, and Mary Hatch of East Berkshire, Vt.; 19 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; a brother, Gordon Riley of Campton, N.H.; two sisters, Eva Patnaude of Colebrook and Dorothy Knapp of Enfield, Conn.; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be on Saturday, May 7, 2005, at 2:30 p.m., in the Monroe United Methodist Church with Pastor Richard Hanson officiating. Burial will follow in the Monroe Village Cemetery. , 87, of Whitefield, N.H., passed away at the Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield, on Dec. 11, 2004. Janet was born Nov. 1, 1917, a daughter to Erlon and Bess (Damon) Neal in Rochester, N.H. She attended local school and was graduated from Wheaton College in Norton, Mass., in 1940. Janet was a real estate broker for many years in Ohio, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, most recently with Morrill & Everett in Concord. Her joys in life were her husband and family, golf, tennis, knitting, singing, dancing and a good book. Surviving family members include her husband of 63 years, Frederick A. Noseworthy; a son, Frederick N. Noseworthy of Monterey, Calif., and his children, Justin and Alison; a daughter, Lee Williams and her husband Bill of Franconia, their son Christopher and his wife Beth Wilkie of North Woodstock, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents; her brother, Robert Neal of Atlanta; and her sister, Betty Meader of Franconia predeceased her. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at 11 a.m., at the All Saints Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Barbara Thrall officiating. , ski pioneer and sportsman, quietly passed away on Monday morning, Dec. 20, 2004, at the Lafayette Center in Franconia, N.H., at the age of 84, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Roger was born a son to Roland and Nina (Whipple) Peabody on Sept. 10, 1920, in Littleton, N.H. Roger's long career with the ski industry included manager of Franconia Notch State Park following in the steps of his father, Roland, director of the U.S. Eastern Amateur Ski Association, and culminated with induction into the National Ski Hall of Fame. Roger was a past member of the Burns's Lodge, moderator for the town of Franconia for many years, owner/operator of Six J Lanes, director of golf at both Lisbon and Maplewood Country Clubs, and was a driving force in senior golf in the North Country. Roger leaves his six children, Jere and Nancy Peabody, Jon and Sue Peabody, Joel and Tina Peabody, Janet and Paul Damiano, Jay Peabody, and Jennifer and Rick Gaudette; their respective families; 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 23, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 101 Union Street, Littleton, N.H. Private family services will be held at a future date. , 89, longtime resident of St. Johnsbury, passed away in Albany, N.Y., Sunday morning, Dec. 19, 2004. She had resided at The Atria at Crossgate Assisted Living for the past eight years. Marion was born March 27, 1915, the eldest daughter born to Perley S. and Beatrice (Donaghy) Bonett. She graduated with honors from St. Johnsbury Academy with the Class of 1933. Marion was married to the late Lewis J. Streeter, principal at St. Johnsbury Trade School. She retired as supervisor from New England Tel & Tel after 23 years of service. While her daughters were in school, Marion was active in parent-teacher associations and served as president and treasurer. She was very active in the Grace United Methodist Church; there she served on the board of directors, as a past president of the UMW (United Methodist Women) group, on the pastor-parish committee, and as a delegate to a National Methodist Women's conference which was held in California. She was also chairperson of many annual Christmas bazaars. She frequently helped organize, prepare and serve many of the church's chicken pie dinners. Her hobbies were knitting, sewing and rug hooking. She tried to knit 30 pairs of mittens every year for the Santa Fund. In her retirement she devoted many hours to her elderly friends, running them to doctor's appointments, buying groceries, as well as doing volunteer work at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital. Retirement also meant she could spend more time playing bridge. She was the mother of two daughters, Laurie Wheeler and her husband Lloyd of Colonie, N.Y., and Merrie Dyer of Cazenovia, N.Y. Her son-in-law, Brian S. Dyer, died in 1987. She was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Scott L. Wheeler of Colonie, N.Y., Lynn M. Romania and her husband Rudi of Loudonville, N.Y., Thomas B. Dyer and his wife Kristi of Boca Raton, Fla., Jason S. Dyer of Cazenovia, N.Y. She was also the loving great-grandmother of Grace Laura, Brooke Mari, and Laura Lynn Romania. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Daire of Whiting, N.J., and Mrs. Marjorie Smith and her husband Russell of both Danville, Vt. and Inverness, Fla.; and by a brother, Earl Bonett and his wife Ruth of St. Johnsbury; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mrs. Arlene May and her husband Royce, and Mrs. Harriett Badger and her husband Phillip; one brother, Edward Bonett and his wife Mary; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Daire. A springtime memorial service will be held Friday, June 3, 2005, at 11 a.m., at the Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery and will precede the service. There will be no visiting hours. passed away after a long illness Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, in Wheatridge, Colo. She was born in St. Johnsbury on June 25, 1945, the daughter of Robert J. Campbell and Kathleen Gibson Campbell. She attended Mt. St. Joseph's Academy until her junior year and then graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1962. She moved to Colorado in 1964. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Love and her husband Robert, and Angela Moyles, both of Wheatridge, Colo.; her father, Robert J. Campbell of Lyndonville; her brother, Richard F. Campbell and his wife Sureerat of Fayetteville, N.C.; her sister, Roberta M. Tanner and her husband Steven of Lyndonville; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Kathleen Gibson Campbell, in 1980. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 23, at 4 p.m., in Colorado.

She worked as an attendant at the Laconia State School and Training Center for 20 years. Survivors include two sons, Bruce M. Stone of Belmont, N.H., and Roger J. Stone of Laconia, N.H.; a daughter, Jennie Maheux of Belmont, N.H.; a brother, Lloyd Munger of Lyndonville, Vt.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bert H. Stone; and two sons, Dennis Stone and Ronnie Stone. There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
