(Farmer) Cole. He always loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Early in life he had many jobs including helping his father run a grocery store, building bridges, and running a steamroller to build roads in northern Vermont. During World War II, he took his family and headed to Los Angeles by train for his family's health. The family stopped in Winslow, Arizona, where he took a job with the Santa Fe Railroad working as a brakeman and conductor. After the war the family returned to North Troy. For the rest of his working years he worked for veneer mills and lumber companies to include the Blair Veneer Mill in North Troy and Columbia Plywood Corporation-Indian Head Division after moving to Ashland, Maine. He enjoyed his job of scaling and buying logs because he was outdoors. He retired in 1979 from Columbia. When he retired, he and his wife came to Sierra Vista to visit their daughter and family.
