, 64, of Chelsea, died Oct. 10. Born in 1934 in Barre, he was the son of Byron and Lillian (Carnes) Downing. In 1961, he married Alice Coburn. He worked at Remington Rand, Dick Kennedy Mill, Bowen Hunter Mill and woolen mills in Enfield, Northfield and East Montpelier. He also worked at Lane Construction Co. and Weyerhaeuser in Royalton and was a carpenter for Bruce White and Branchwood sawmills, both in Randolph. He served in the Army. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Wanda Jackson and Amy Kerr; a brother; two sisters; four grandchildren.

She was a member of the Woodbury Calais Congregational Church. Survivors include her husband; a son, Don; a daughter, Annette Thompson; her mother; three grandchildren; a brother; three sisters.

He was a member of St. Augustine Church. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Gobbi; three sisters.

She was a buyer for several department stores and from the mid-1960s until 1995, she was a real estate agent. She moved to Vermont in 1996. Survivors include a son, Richard; a brother, George Phillips; two grandsons.

In 1975, he married Fernande Beaudet. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Ronda Rexford; two sons, Harold Jr. and Ronald; three step-sons, Michael Beaudet, Roger Beaudet and Gary Beaudet; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Woodbury. Survivors include five nephews and two nieces.
