In 1943, she married John Blakeney, who died in 1971. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Blakeney and Ann Doty; one son, Benjamin Brinson; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He attended grade school in Peacham and graduated from Peacham Academy. He also attended Farmdale Agriculture College in N.Y. He married Evelyn M. Bailey. He farmed for 37 years, operated a milk route and did general trucking. He was a lister for the town of Groton, was a dealer for Elmore Feeds and cut and sold Christmas trees. He was a member of Peacham Congregational Church. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Lucille (Mrs. R. Pat) Nelson; Priscilla (Mrs. Richard) Sherburne; Judy (Mrs. John) Vedder; a son, John; four grandsons; three granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

, 85, of South Barre, died Feb. 27. Born in 1913 in Williamstown, she was the daughter of Harry and Ruby (Wright) Whitney. She attended Williamstown School, graduated from Spaulding High School and later attended nurses training. In 1932, she married Grafton Howard, who died in 1990. She had played the organ at several area churches for many years. Survivors include a son, James; a daughter, Jean Mudgett; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a friend, Penny Millette, who helped with her care.

, 90, of Northfield, died Feb. 26. Born in 1908 in Leicester, Mass., she was the daughter of Charles and Josephine (Belrose) Browne. She graduated from Manchester (N.H.) Central High School and moved to Northfield in 1926. In 1929, she married Alan Woods, who died in 1971. She had worked for L.W. Morse's Clothing Store in Northfield and was a member of the Untied Methodist Church of Northfield. Survivors include two nieces, Barbara Buttrick and Jane Bingham; a nephew, Frank Allen.

, 84, of Berlin, died Feb. 18. Born in 1915 in Vershire, he was the son of Arthur and Mary (Francis) Isham. He attended area schools and earned his GED in 1966. In 1941, he married Cecile M. Guinard, who predeceased him. He owned and operated a painting and papering business with his brother, Bill. He and his wife bought the old Barkley homestead on East Hill in Barre Town where he farmed until 1958. They moved to Montpelier in 1979. He also worked as a sandblast carver in the granite industry. Survivors include his children, Mary Lynne Isham and Steve Adams, Ross and Elaine Isham, Craig Isham and Patty Gray; nine grandchildren; three brothers; many nieces and nephews.

, 103, of Hardwick, died Feb. 28. Born in 1895 in Hardwick, she was the daughter of George and Maud (Calderwood) Nelson. She attended the Cobb School and graduated from Hardwick Academy. In 1921, she married Sidney Earle. They operated the ancestral farm. She was a member of the East Hardwick Congregational Church. Survivors include two sons, Ronald and Walton; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; a nephew and several cousins.

He had served in the Army during WWII. He also served in the Merchant Marines, retiring in 1980. Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard; three brothers; a sister; two grandsons; nieces and nephews.

In 1955, he married Harriet (Fuller) Brown. He had served in the Airborne Infantry. He worked for Kelly Construction, a woolen mill in North Montpelier, Averill's Plumbing and Heating, Calder and Richardson Ins., RSD Leasing and Bruce Transportation. Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, William and Robert Brown; a step-daughter, Barbara Scott; four step-grandchildren; four brothers; many nieces and nephews.

In 1949, she married Ora Violette, they later divorced. She moved to Williamstown in 1950 and was the chef of The Gulf House Restaurant, which she and her sister, Tillie Bosma, owned and operated. She was a member of St. Edward's Church in Williamstown. Survivors include three sisters, Tillie Bosma, Elizabeth Taddie and Rose Liberty; nieces and nephews.

He moved to Vermont in 1985, and owned and operated Country Time canteen truck in Lebanon, N.H. and White River Junction. He was a member of Poly Carps Catholic Church in Somerville. Survivors include his wife; four stepchildren, Lois, Teri, Missy and Doug; his mother; two sisters; five step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She had lived in Strafford, Unity, Laconia and Portsmouth before moving to Dover, N.H. in 1995. She worked at Great Bay Services in Dover. Survivors include her mother; five aunts and three uncles; nieces, nephews and cousins; and the family she made her home with, Jeff, Sue and Amber Berthiaume.
