, 57, formerly of Barre and more recently of Franklin, died Sept. 21. Born in 1940 in Barre, he was the son of Lena (DeBlois) LaPerle and the Lionel LaPerle. He graduated from Plainfield High School and served in the Navy. He owned and operated Rainbow Lettering. In 1965, he married Louise Bessette. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Lisa St. Germain, Lori Ann LaPerle, Lynn LaPerle and Lorna LaPerle; two grandchildren.
Meehan, David Lee

, 53, formerly of Hardwick and more recently of Johnson, died Sept. 20. Born in 1945 in Hardwick, he was the son of Frank and Shirley (Beade) Meehan. He attended Hardwick Academy until 1962 when an auto accident rendered him quadriplegic. He then attained his GED in 1963 and graduated from Rusk Institute of Independent Living in 1964. He also mastered three correspondence courses. He was a member of the Vermont Handicapped Association and helped create the original Vermont Wheel Chair Olympics. He married Janet Morey. Survivors include two adopted sons, Chris and Scott; his mother; his grandmother, Martha Barcomb; a sister; four brothers; a granddaughter; several aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.

, 98, of Berlin, died Sept. 25. Born in 1900 in Moretown, she was the daughter of Howard and Gertrude (Robinson) Bruce. She attended school in Moretown and graduated from Montpelier High School. In 1922, she married Luther S. Booth, who died in 1978. She was head bookkeeper for the Montpelier Savings Bank, retiring in 1965. She was a member of the Montpelier Unitarian Church. Survivors include two sons, Douglas and Donald; one brother; one sister; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

, 75, summer resident of Walden, died Sept. 23. Born in 1923 in Albion, MI, he was the son of Vance Banker and Eula Mae (Loder) Turner. He served in the Army during WWII, and worked for the South Florida Water Management District, retiring in 1979. He was married to Louise (Dague) Foster Turner. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sylvia Hall; a son, Leo Turner; a stepson, Fred Foster; a sister; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

She attended Brookfield and Williamstown schools and in 1944, married Dwight H. Townsend. She operated a restaurant in Randolph, worked at Randall Wood Products and later became a real estate agent. Survivors include her husband; five sons, Donald, Rudolph, Dwight, Lawrence and James; a brother; a sister; a half-sister; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

, 86, of Highgate Center, died Sept. 20. Born in 1912 in Websterville, she was the son of Thomas and Mary (O'Connor) LaMoy. He graduated from Spaulding High School and in 1940, married Hazel Chamberland. He was employed by the Central Vermont Railroad for over 45 years. After leaving the railroad he worked for the state of Vermont at the Canadian Border Welcome Center. He retired in 1977. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Michael, Edward, John and James; three daughters, Kathleen Mauer, Jeanne Hullett and Mary LaMoy; two brothers; three sisters; eight grandchildren.

She attended Tunbridge Central School and graduated from Chelsea High School. She worked for Emgee Inc. in Chelsea, Workspace Inc. in Washington and Chelsea, Northern Plastic Work in Bethel and Vermont Wireform Company in Chelsea. She drove school bus for B&M Transportation of Tunbridge and had been an emergency medical technician with First Branch Ambulance Service Inc., serving Tunbridge and Chelsea. Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Nancy and Richard Holmes; three brothers, Thomas, James and Rande Densmore; a sister, Patsy Densmore-Calabra; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

, 72, of Montpelier, died Sept. 18. Born in 1925 in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of Peter Konstantin Davis and Mary (Hazimanolis) Davis. She graduated from Simmons College and received a masters degree in clinical psychology from Wayne State University. She also earned a doctorate in counseling psychology from University of California at Berkeley. In 1957, she married Dion Marc Tresmontan, who died in 1961. In 1974, she married Robert Baker Stitt. She was a self-employed psychological counselor in San Francisco and also taught school and did social work. In 1997, she and her husband moved to Montpelier. Survivors include her husband; two sisters, Kleanthy Kapetanakis and Bessie Jacobs.

, 77, of Walden, died Oct. 1. Born in 1921 in Cabot, he was the son of Archie and Gertrude Strong. He served in the Army during WWII and in 1946, married Marjorie Baron. He farmed in Walden from 1948 to 1968. He and his family moved to East Hardwick, where he served as a Village Trustee and later as selectman in Hardwick. He and his wife moved to South Walden in 1983, where he continued to raise one or two beef cattle each year. Survivors include his wife; one son, Jack; two daughters, Diane Hill and Judy Peterson; six grandchildren; one brother.

She attended schools in Ferrisburg and Vergennes and graduated from Middlebury College. In 1935, she married Dr. George V. Goodwin. She was a homemaker and actively involved in her husband's medical practice. She was a member of Bethany Congregational Church. Survivors include one son, Stephen; a daughter, Susan Hopkins; a sister; grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He worked as a dairy farmer on the family farm in East Hardwick and continued the operation after his father died. He moved to Calais in 1976. Survivors include a brother, Louis Gendron; seven sisters, Regina Coolidge, Claire Neve, Imelda Allen, Helen Tilly, Cecile Brackett, Anne Gonyea and Eva Page.

She moved to Northfield after the death of her parents and lived with her aunt and uncle, Luther and Rosa Tracy. She attended Northfield Elementary School and graduated from Northfield High School. In 1952, she married Russell O'Hara, who died in 1994. She had worked for New England T&T Co. and later was a bookkeeper for St. Sylvester Church in Graniteville and for Consolidated Memorials in Barre. She retired in 1977. She was a member of St. Sylvester Church in Graniteville. Survivors include two sons, Michael and Stephen; a daughter, Kathryn Robinson; four grandchildren; a half-brother and half-sister; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He later worked with his father doing interior and exterior house painting. Most recently, he was employed by Ben & Jerry's.
