, 69, of Craftsbury, died April 21. Born in 1928 in Newton, Mass., he was the son of Howard and Helene (Coon) Lawrence. He served in the Army Air Corps during the Korean War and was employed by the Newton Police Force. He was also a security officer at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. After retirement, he moved to Vermont and worked part-time at the Burlington Airport. Survivors include his wife, Donna Lawrence; five daughters, Lisa Antunes, Paula Lawrence, Barbara Lawrence, Lida Rando and Joanne Eshete; a son, Paul Jr.; his former wife, Doris Palmas; four grandchildren; a brother.

, 97, of Williamstown, died April 20. Born in 1901 in Derby, she was the daughter of Adam and Abbie (Rice) Moulton Robbins. She graduated from Derby Academy. In 1927, she married Don C. Staples, who died in 1942. They had owned and operated a farm in Plainfield. In 1945, she married James Menard, who died in 1949. She had worked as a nanny and a domestic and in nursing homes. She attended Williamstown Methodist Church and Williamstown United Federated Church. Survivors include a daughter, Madonna (Staples) (Mrs. Robert) LaFleche; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a niece and a nephew.

, 98, of Montpelier, died April 22. Born in 1899 in Benabbio, Bagni di Lucca, Italy she was the daughter of John and Caterina (Tolomei) Giuliani. She graduated from Montpelier Seminary and was a member of St. Augustine Church. She had been employed as office supervisor at the Excelsoir Plant of Rock of Ages Corp. in Montpelier. She later worked as assistant librarian at Vermont Junior College. Survivors include a brother, Peter Giuliani; two nephews.

Born in 1936 in Burlington, he was the son of Leslie and Marjorie (Haseltine) Benedict Sr. He graduated from Whitcomb High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for Monier Roof Tile Co. of Arizona and California, before returning to Vermont. Survivors include his mother; two sons, Michael and Robert; three daughters, Diane Wagner, Karen Groom and Lynn LeDrew; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers; a sister; his companion, Vivian Caswell.

, 67, formerly of Barre and more recently of Attleboro, Mass., died April 19. Born in 1930 in Barre, she was the daughter of Thomas and Eva (Corey) Wobby. She received a degree in education from Catholic Teachers' College and later studied at St. Louis University. She entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1949. She taught school in Fall River and several locations in Rhode Island. In North Attleboro, she was a teaching vice principal at St. Mary's School and development director at St. Mary's Parish. She also taught and was director of fundraising at Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro. Survivors include two sisters, Isabelle Shaw and Doris Peasley; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He worked in construction and was actively involved in the building of the Vermont Interstate highway system. Survivors include his wife, June (Thompson) St. Louis; children and grandchildren.

In 1942, she married Robert Henning. She was head of the personnel committee at Washington County Mental Health. In 1943, she married Henry E. Spaulding, who died in 1991. They had lived in East Montpelier for many years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Watertown and St. Monica Church in Barre. Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Farnum of R.I.; a son, Robert of East Montpelier; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Jean Linton of Mass.

Survivors include two sons, Roger and Robert; a daughter, Linda Ducharme; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Her husband Spencer Wheeler predeceased her.

She attended schools in Irasburg, Albany and Plainfield and graduated from the Goddard Seminary in Barre. In 1925, she married Harry Earl Maxfield, who died in 1965. She worked as a nurse's aide and also volunteered at the McFarland House and Rowan Court Nursing Home. She retired at age 73. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Plainfield. Survivors include two sons, Roland and Terry; a daughter, Joyce Copping; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; nieces and nephews.

He attended schools in Putnamville and graduated from Montpelier High School. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked in the granite industry, first at Capital Granite Co. and later at Jurras Granite Co. He was a self-employed general contractor and a master electrician and was a partner in B&H Builders and Washington County Builders. More recently he worked as a general custodian for the Gary Home in Montpelier. He also was sexton for the East Montpelier Cemetery and maintained the Cutler, Doty and Village cemeteries, retiring two years ago. Survivors include his wife, Clara Edwards; three daughters, Penny Marshall, Alice Bard and Virginia Blair; six grandchildren; his mother; two sisters; two brothers; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She graduated from Cabot High school and later from the School of Cosmetology in Springfield, Mass. She worked as a telephone operator in Cabot and later owned and operated Lillian's Beauty Shop in Cabot and later in Groton. In 1934, she married Chet Meehan. In 1958, she married Guy Darling, who died in 1991. She was a member of the Groton United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Robert Meehan; three sisters; two granddaughters; two step-grandsons; nieces and nephews.

, 85, died April 26. Born in 1912 in Bethel, he was the son of Laurel B. and Emma (Kendall) Spooner. He was educated in Bethel schools and in 1950, married Mary E. Page. He was a dairy farmer and sold vegetables at Randolph Center and Bethel Gilead. He also owned and operated Burt's Gun Shop in Randolph Center and was a substitute rural mail carrier in Randolph Center. He retired in 1988. He was a cemetery commissioner in Bethel, chairman of the zoning board, selectman in Randolph and an assistant superior court judge. He was a member of the Bethel Gilead Methodist Church. He helped establish the Randolph Center Fire Association. He had written five books. Survivors include his wife; three sons, William, George and Burton Jr.; two daughters, Emma Kimball and Penny Tabor; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.

, 97, of Tunbridge, died April 26. Born in 1900 in Lyndon, she was the daughter of Edgar and Alice (Gilman) Hancock Boulter. She attended Tunbridge Marke School and South Royalton High School. In 1919, she married Frank Leo Rogers, who died in 1958. They owned and operated the George Wentworth farm in Tunbridge. She also worked at the Dean Academy in Mass., and took care of Mrs. Ames in Strafford and Judge Keyser in Chelsea. She was a member of the Tunbridge Congregational Church. Survivors include three sons, Reeve, Stanley and Richard; a daughter, Emily (Mrs. Ernest) Howe; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

, 62, of Walden died April 23. Born in 1936 in Junglinster, Luxembourg, he was the son of Harold and Marie (Van Hulle) Bolieu. He attended schools in Paris before moving to the United States in 1960. He also attended Columbia University and later earned a degree in French literature from Hunter College. He became a U.S. citizen in 1965. He had served in the Army and the Army Reserves. He was married to Lynn Anner and later to Brenda J. Richardson. He taught French and mathematics at Hazen Union High School, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Hardwick. Survivors include his wife; a son, Steven Bolieu; two stepsons, Erik Misuk and Aaron Misuk; an uncle; nieces and nephews; and cousins.
