He was a graduate of Waitsfield High School and a veteran of the Marine Corps. He had been married to Carol Freeman. He was a heavy equipment operator, having worked for E. A. Grandfield Excavating in Moretown and Gross Trucking and Excavating in Northfield. Survivors include his son, Christopher; three brothers; four sisters.

, 73, of Moretown, died Oct. 28. Born in 1925 in Waterbury Center, she was the daughter of Henry and Lucy (Chapin) Thurston. She attended Waterbury High School. In 1949, she married Norman Houston, who died in 1985. She spent most of her working life as a waitress in the central Vermont area. She was a member of the Waterbury Center Community Church. Survivors include three daughters, Norma Ladd, Bonnie Spear and Valerie Ebady-Nezami; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters.

, 98, of Waterbury Center, died Oct. 28. Born in 1900, she was the daughter of Edwin and Emma (Ellsworth) Russell. She attended schools in Stowe and Waterbury Center. In 1918, she married Fred O. Fahner, who died in 1987. She was a homemaker and later worked at the former Mildred Sutherland Nursing Home in Waterbury. More recently she had worked for the Stoware Mill in Stowe. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Marilyn) Kellett and Mrs. Edward (Carolyn) Miller; a sister; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Stridsberg; her birth mother; her parents; her fiance, Mark Lawliss; two step-sons, Jesse and Nicholas Lawliss; a granddaughter; two sisters; four half-sisters; two half-brothers; nieces and nephews.

In 1972, he married Patricia Davis. He had served in the Navy. He had been a telegrapher for Union Pacific Railroad and assistant manager at Rich's Department Store until it closed in 1997. Recently he was the retail manager for the Music Shop. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeffrey; two sisters-in-law.
