, 89, of Barre, died Aug. 16. Born in 1908 in St. Malo, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of Joseph and Marie Elizabeth (Hebert) Perras. In 1928, she married Egide Martineau and in 1931, became an United States citizen. She was a cook at the Hilltop Restaurant and for Gus' Restaurant. She was a member of St. Monica Parish. Survivors include three children, Elphege Martineau, Monda Thresher and Leo Martineau; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Her husband is deceased.

, 76, of Randolph, died Aug. 18. Born in 1921 in Duxbury, she was the daughter of Fred and Dora (Churchill) Morse. She was educated in Duxbury and Waterbury and at Montpelier Seminary. In 1944, she married Roy Jacob, who died in 1962. She was employed by the Van Raalte Corp. in Randolph and retired from the Waterbury Company. She was also an assistant teacher at the Justin Morgan Christian School. Survivors include a son, Donald; a daughter, Raylene Jacobs; a brother; two sisters; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

, 76, formerly of Plainfield/Waitsfield, died Aug. 11. Born in 1921 in Plainfield, he was the son of George and Hattie (Martin) Kingsbury. He graduated from Waitsfield High School and Randolph Agricultural School. He was a staff sergeant during WWII. He was a postmaster in Waitsfield for 20 years, retiring to Kissimmee, FL in 1977. He was a member of the Federated Church in Waitsfield. Survivors include his wife, Anamarie "Billie" Kingsbury; four daughters, Nancy Kingsbury, Sherry Clifford, Sylvia Chapman and Judith Corey; one son, David; three brothers; 11 grandchildren; nieces and nephews. His first wife, Carolyn (Joslyn) Kingsbury, predeceased him.

, 97, formerly of East Montpelier, died Aug. 16. Born in 1900 in East Montpelier, she was the daughter of Olin and Susie (Davis) Tillotson. She graduated from Montpelier Seminary and taught school in Middlesex and Shady Rill. In 1926, she married Chester Newhall. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Burlington. Survivors include a son, David; three daughters, Susan McCroubie, Donna Larrow and Ann Newhall; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

, 72, formerly of Washington, died Aug. 16. Born in 1925, she was the daughter of Edgar and Hazel (Sherman) Denison. she attended schools in Washington and Tunbridge and Thetford Academy. In 1954, she married Henry Swenor. She aided her husband in the operation of a dairy farm, known as Swenor Brothers Farm. Mr. Swenor died in 1992.

, 90, of Barre, died Aug. 19. Born in 1907 in Barre, he was the son of George and Maria (Maniatty) Karkanedes. He graduated from Rindge Technical High School in Cambridge, Mass. and attended the University of Massachusetts. In 1930, he married Evon Morrison. He was manager of the Barre Grand Union store and later district manager of 21 Grand Union stores in Vermont and New York. In 1943, he began working for National Life Insurance Co. of Vermont and rejoined the company after serving in the Army during WWII. He retired in 1972. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Barre. Survivors include his wife; a son, George Kennedy; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister; nieces, nephews and cousins.

, 81, of Northfield, died Aug. 18. Born in 1915 in Manhasset, N.Y., she was the daughter of William and Ada (Hutchings) Thorp. In 1950, she married Jack Kimmerly. She had been a salesperson at Lord and Taylor in New York, moving to Northfield in the 1970s. Her husband died in 1993. Survivors include a sister, Charlotte Osgood; nieces and nephews.

She attended Sharon Elementary School, graduated from South Royalton High School and the University of Vermont and Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital School of Laboratory Technology. She was a laboratory technologist at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover. She was later employed as a waitress at Brooksie's Restaurant in Sharon. In 1945, she married Harold Donahue, who died in 1987. She was a member of Sharon Congregational Church. Survivors include two sons, Earl and Robert; three daughters, Mary Donahue, Linda Rikert and Patricia Donahue; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; and an aunt.

He spent most of his life in the Cabot and Marshfield area, where he was a self-employed logger. In 1939, she married Richard Cary. She worked in the medical offices of doctors John Woodruff and Frank Woodruff and Dr. George Lucchina. She was a member of the Barre Congregational Church. He moved to Hartland in 1992 and was most recently employed by Creare Inc. of Hanover as a scientific research technician. He belonged to the First Congregational Church in Hartland. Survivors include his parents; a daughter, Erin Decker; a brother; two sisters; a former companion, Kathleen Decker; nieces and nephews.

In 1927, she married James McCullough, who died in 1988. They had farmed in Bethel and Royalton before establishing McCullough's Quick-Stop in Randolph. She was a member of Miller Memorial United Methodist Church in Bethel. Survivors include four sons, James, Willo, Frank and David; three daughters, Mary Vance, Sophia Taylor and Judith Sanders; two brothers; a sister; 29 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She helped her husband in the excavating business in Waitsfield and was also employed in the cafeteria at Harwood Union High School. They moved to Berlin in 1988. She worked at National Life Insurance Co., for Rowan Court Health and Rehab. Center and more recently was employed in customer services at Ames Department Store. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Karen Mann; a son, Rodney; two grandchildren; four brothers; four sisters; many nieces and nephews.

IN 1942, he married Lena LaVigne, who died in 1992. He worked in the granite industry and most recently was employed at Chioldi Granite co., retiring in 1982. Survivors include a daughter, Diana Frantz; two grandsons; three great-granddaughters; four brothers; four sisters; nieces and nephews.

She attended school in Champaign and Greenville, ILL. and worked as beautician there. In 1931, she married Deep Corey. She spent her life as a homemaker, parent and grandparent and was a member of St. Monica Church. Survivors include her husband; five sons, George, Gardner, Geoffrey, Edward and Gary; two daughters, Helen Gross and Patricia Sellitto; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters; several nieces and nephews.
