, 91, of East Montpelier, died May 2. Born in 1836 in East Montpelier, he was the son of Roy and Alice (Foster) Sibley. He attended school in East Montpelier and graduated from Goddard Seminary in Barre. He had been a farmer and served as selectman in East Montpelier, as school com-missioner and cemetery commis-sioner. He was a director and treasurer of Washington Electric Co-op and represented East Montpelier in the Legislature. In 1929, he married Margaret Cory, who died in 1973. Survivors include two sons, Edwin and George Jr.; two grandsons.

, 72, of Berlin, died May 5. Born in 1924 in Walden, she was the daughter of Jewett and Edna (Kittredge) Laird. She attended elementary school in Walden and graduated from Spaulding High School. In 1953, she married G. Roy Fish. They managed the Wayside Restaurant and later operated Roy's Snack Bar. Mr. Fish died in 1987. Survivors include her daughter, Lila Codling; two grandchildren; three great-grandsons; two sisters; nieces and nephews.

, 78, of Williamstown, died May 7. Born in 1919 in Hartford, Ct., she was the daughter of Harry and Eva (Crosby) Potter. She received her early education in Glastonbury, Ct. and graduated from high school there. She graduated from Colby Junior College in N.H. and later from Worcester (Mass.) City Hospital Laboratory School. In 1947, she married Sheldon Poor, who died in 1979. She had been lab technician in several hospitals and in 1970, moved to Barre and was employed at Woolworth Department Store until retirement. In 1986, she moved to Williamstown, where she was a member of Williamstown Congregational Church. Survivors include three sons, Daniel, Timothy and Edmond; three grandchildren; several cousins.

, 67, formerly of Hardwick, died April 28. Born in 1929 in Littleton, N.H., most of his youth was spent in Hardwick. In 1955, he married Theresa Ferland. They moved to Connecticut and he worked in the construction industry. He was a veteran of the Army, having served during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Natalie Michaud; and relatives in the Hardwick area.

, 42, of Northfield, died May 15. Born in 1954 in Plainfield, N.J., she was the daughter of Edward and Jeannette (Johnson) O'Connor. She graduated from Union Catholic Girls High School in New Jersey, earned a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Dayton in Ohio and a master's degree in education from the University of Vermont. She was a drug and alcohol counselor for Northfield and other area schools and had been employed by the state of Vermont's Parent's Assistance Line. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. She had been married to Christopher Fionda. Survivors include a daughter, Laura; two sons, Edward and Thomas; her father; a brother; two sisters; several nieces and nephews.

, 72, of Wolcott, died May 15. Born in 1925 in Morrisville, she was the daughter of Charles and Eva (Robbins) Burbank. In 1958, she married Eugene Gates, who died in 1985. She was employed by Vermont Electric Co-op in Johnson, retiring in the late 1980s. After that she was tax collector in Wolcott. She attended Wolcott Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, William Patch; two daughters, Patricia (Mrs. George) Ste. Marie and Brenda (Mrs. John) Hurlburt; a sister; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

, 42, of Northfield, died May 14. Born in 1955 in Northfield, he was the son of James and Louise (Shutler) MacMartin. He graduated from Northfield High School and attended Johnson State College. In 1991, he married Roxana Chacon Solares. He worked at both Northfield and Washington electric departments, at Lawson Granite Co. and more recently, at De Felice's Sandwich Shop in Northfield. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jamie; three brothers; three sisters; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

, 87, of Barre, died May 13. Born in 1909 in Websterville, she was the daughter of Henry and Mary (Abaire) Duprey. She attended the former Holy Ghost Convent School in Graniteville. She was employed as a domestic in Montpelier in earlier years. In 1940, she married Rheal J. Demers, who died in January, 1997. They founded Demers Repair Shop, retiring in 1972. She was a member of St. Monica Church. Survivors include two sons, Dennis and Edmond; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

In 1945, she married Richard Markham, who died in 1990. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Church. Survivors include two sons, Larry and Randall; two daughters, Laurel Markham and Sherry Markham; three brothers; one sister.

, 92, of Montpelier, died May 15. Born in 1904 in Glen Arms, Ill., she was the daughter of William and Margaret (Schuler) Hamm. Most of her youth and early adult life was spent in Cleveland, Ohio. She was an accomplished dancer and dance studio instructor and she and her husband owned and operated a general construction firm in Ohio. After the death of her husband, she lived with her son, Andrew and family in Montpelier and was admitted to Berlin Health & Rehabilitation Center in 1995. She was a communicant of St. Augustine Church in Montpelier. Survivors include two sons, George and Andrew; a daughter, Alyce Crawford; a sister; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In 1961, she married Higinio Aja, who died in 1963. She had been employed at the Formica Plant and at Sprague Electric. She was a member of St. Monica Church. Survivors include three daughters, Encarnation "Connie" (Mrs. Wesley) Norris, Aurora "Dot" (Mrs. Albert) Borne and Consuelo (Mrs. Bernard) Hebert; four sons, Gabino, Dr. E. Joseph, Dr. Joaquin and Jesus Aja; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

In 1949, she married Albert Ferris, who died in 1988. She worked for the Moretown school system and served as town clerk, on the selectboard and as a library trustee. Survivors include one son, Terry; two daughters, Vickie and Robin; four grandchildren one sister.

Donatian and Rogatian Church in Randolph. He moved to Vermont in 1967 and worked at Chelsea Creamery, Letter Granite Co. and Cetrangelo Granite Co. He also raised game birds and various breeds of poultry, attending many shows and fairs. In 1946, he married Dorothy Bell. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Guilford (Conn.). Survivors include his wife; two sons, Hoard and Richard; a daughter, Linda Doyle; his mother; a sister; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
