, 91, of Montpelier, died April 12. Born in 1905, she was the daughter of Perley and Grace (Ware) Pike. Her first husband, Robert Keniston, whom she married in 1920, died previously. In 1938, she married Harry C. Jones, who is also deceased. She was a registered nurse and had owned and operated Jones' Rest Home in Montpelier for many years. Survivors include a daughter, Madeline Keniston O'Brien; a brother; a sister; half-brothers and half-sisters; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

, 82, formerly of Cabot, died June 19. She was the daughter of Angus and Bessie Smith. She received her early education in Cabot and graduated from the Goddard School for Girls. She attended nurses' training at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City and graduated from Barre City Hospital's Nurses Training School. She worked at Barre City Hospital and at Grossman Hospital in San Diego, CA. She retired in 1978. In 1940, she married Samuel Henderson. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Pamela Robinson; three sons, Douglas, Craig and Alan; three grandsons; two granddaughters; a great-grandson; two sisters; many nieces and nephews.

, 52, of Montpelier, died recently. Born in 1945 in Barre, she was the daughter of Howard and Bernice (Sweeney) McQueen. She received her education at St. Michael's Graded School and St. Michael's High School. In 1962, she married Charles H. Davis. She worked for several years at Zayre's Department Store and later at Ames Department Store. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Brenda Davis; a son, Charles; two granddaughters; two sisters; nieces, nephews and aunts.

, 91, of Barre, died June 21. Born in 1905 in Cupids, Newfoundland, Canada, she was the daughter of Patrick and Ellen (Breen) Hayes. She graduated from Cupids High School. In 1931, she married John J. French, who died in 1959. They had made their home in Little Neck, N.Y. She had been employed at the New York Telephone Co., the Mohonk Resort, the H.L. Green Department Store in Hempstead, N.Y. and St. Mary's School in Manhasset, N.Y. She moved to Vermont after her husband's death. She was a member of St. Monica Church in Barre. Survivors include a son, Clifford; a daughter, Ellen Daniels; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

He graduated from Rutland High School and was employed at Rutland News for 40 years, retiring in 1978. He served in the U.S. Signal Corps during WWII. Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. (McNeil) Phillips; a daughter, Donna Phillips; a son, Thomas; two brothers; a sister; several nieces and nephews.

Following graduation from the University of Vermont, she moved to California where she worked at McGraw-Hill Publishing Co. and studied at UCLA for her master's degree in television production. She moved to Vermont and was hired by Castleton State College to plan, develop and implement the college's first curriculum in television production. Survivors include her husband; her mother; three step-children, Mary Truax, William Gibson and Lucia Burke; five step-grandchildren.

She was educated in Woodsville, N.H. and was employed as a telephone operator there. She worked at the McLellan Stores and Green Mountain Mutual Insurance Co., both in Montpelier and at Granite Mutual Insurance Co. in Barre. She moved to Arizona in 1992. Her husband, Clarence, is deceased. Survivors include a daughter, Alison Williams; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Gates, who died in 1973. They had owned and operated Locust Cabins in East Randolph, before moving to Royalton. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Royalton. Survivors include a son, Fred; three daughters, Madeline Stariknok, Marguerite Caron and Shirley Spittle; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He attended graded schools in Hardwick, Connecticut, Virginia and New Hampshire, graduating from Rogers High School in Newport, R.I. He served with the Navy. In 1971, he married Eunice McKinistry. He had worked for Sam Daniels Manufacturing in Hardwick and had managed Kentucky Fried Chicken in the Burlington, Barre and Brattleboro locations. He later worked for Anderson Concrete, the Vermont State Hospital, ran a delivery route for Burlington Foreign Auto Parts and more recently was employed by Perry Oil, retiring in 1985. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Glen and Bruce; a daughter, Samantha Devenger; his father; four grandchildren; four brothers; four sisters; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She received her early education in Barre and Montpelier, graduated from Montpelier High School and received nursing certification from Wayne School of Nursing in Chicago, ILL. In 1935, she married Herbert H. Friot. They owned and operated Capital Nursing Home and Capitol Manor. Mr. Friot is deceased. In 1972, she married Richard Messer. She worked at the Eastern Start Nursing Home in Randolph. She was a member of Hedding United Methodist Church of Barre. Survivors include two sons, Edwin Friot and Richard Friot; four grandsons; two granddaughters; a half-sister; nieces, nephews and cousins.

, 84, of Barre, died June 26. Born in 1912 in Bordia, Switzerland, she was the daughter of Serafino and Maria (DeCarlo) Ferrati. The family moved to Barre in 1918, where she attended school. She lived in Manchester and Hartford, Conn., where she was employed as an apartment building manager. She later lived in Albany, N.Y., and returned to Barre in 1973. She was a member of St. Monica Parish. Her husband, Pasquale Terranova, died in 1957. Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Capagli; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was a rural letter carrier for the South Royalton Post Office. After retirement, he moved to East Charleston. Survivors include two sons, Harold and Howard; two daughters, Gail Kingsbury and Phyllis Mudgett; one sister; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
