, of Waterbury, died June 15. She was the daughter of Amy (Goodheart) and Hymen Myers and wife of Stewart Gibson. Following graduation from the University of Vermont, she moved to California where she worked at McGraw-Hill Publishing Co. and studied at UCLA for her master's degree in television production. She moved to Vermont and was hired by Castleton State College to plan, develop and implement the college's first curriculum in television production. Survivors include her husband; her mother; three step-children, Mary Truax, William Gibson and Lucia Burke; five step-grandchildren.

, 83, formerly of Montpelier, died June 17. Born in 1913 in West Newbury, she was the daughter of Percy and Velma Fearon. She was educated in Woodsville, N.H. and was employed as a telephone operator there. She worked at the McLellan Stores and Green Mountain Mutual Insurance Co., both in Montpelier and at Granite Mutual Insurance Co. in Barre. She moved to Arizona in 1992. Her husband, Clarence, is deceased. Survivors include a daughter, Alison Williams; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

, 56, of Plainfield, died June 22. Born in 1941 in Sanbornton, N.H., he was the son of Elwin and Dorothy (McKay) Smith. He lived in Barre and Montana before moving to Plainfield last year. He had worked for the City of Barre as a truck driver and was a self-employed logger in Montana. Survivors include his companion, Sheila Guillette; a son, Robert; a daughter, Cathy Van Dyke; two grandsons; two brothers; a sister; several nieces and nephews.

, 90, of Royalton, died June 25. Born in 1906 in Barton, she was the daughter of Dean and Eva (Carruth) Clark. She attended schools in Barton and West Burke. In 1932, she married Virgil B. Gates, who died in 1973. They had owned and operated Locust Cabins in East Randolph, before moving to Royalton. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Royalton. Survivors include a son, Fred; three daughters, Madeline Stariknok, Marguerite Caron and Shirley Spittle; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

, 71, of Barre, died recently. Born in 1926 in Barre, he was the son of Fermin and Elvira Acebo. He attended Barre schools and Spaulding High School. He was a veteran of the Navy, serving during WWII. In 1949, he married Betty Beams. He retired from the Celenta and Bianchi Granite Co. in Barre in 1989. He was a member of St. Monica's Parish. Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles; a daughter, Vickie Acebo-Carns; three grandchildren; a sister; four brothers; nieces and nephews.

, 52, of Hardwick, died June 17. Born in 1944 in Long Beach, CA, he was the son of Ralph and Helene (Pelletier) Devenger. He attended graded schools in Hardwick, Connecticut, Virginia and New Hampshire, graduating from Rogers High School in Newport, R.I. He served with the Navy. In 1971, he married Eunice McKinistry. He had worked for Sam Daniels Manufacturing in Hardwick and had managed Kentucky Fried Chicken in the Burlington, Barre and Brattleboro locations. He later worked for Anderson Concrete, the Vermont State Hospital, ran a delivery route for Burlington Foreign Auto Parts and more recently was employed by Perry Oil, retiring in 1985. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Glen and Bruce; a daughter, Samantha Devenger; his father; four grandchildren; four brothers; four sisters; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She received her early education in Barre and Montpelier, graduated from Montpelier High School and received nursing certification from Wayne School of Nursing in Chicago, ILL. In 1935, she married Herbert H. Friot. They owned and operated Capital Nursing Home and Capitol Manor. Mr. Friot is deceased. In 1972, she married Richard Messer. She worked at the Eastern Start Nursing Home in Randolph. She was a member of Hedding United Methodist Church of Barre. Survivors include two sons, Edwin Friot and Richard Friot; four grandsons; two granddaughters; a half-sister; nieces, nephews and cousins.

, 84, of Barre, died June 26. Born in 1912 in Bordia, Switzerland, she was the daughter of Serafino and Maria (DeCarlo) Ferrati. The family moved to Barre in 1918, where she attended school. She lived in Manchester and Hartford, Conn., where she was employed as an apartment building manager. She later lived in Albany, N.Y., and returned to Barre in 1973. She was a member of St. Monica Parish. Her husband, Pasquale Terranova, died in 1957. Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Capagli; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was a rural letter carrier for the South Royalton Post Office. After retirement, he moved to East Charleston. She had lived in N.J. for 38 years and was assistant librarian at the Englewood Public Library. She had lived in Northfield since 1980 and was a summer resident of Tunbridge. She was a member of St. Mary's Church (Episcopal). Survivors include her husband, Francis Ingoldsby; two daughters, Joan Brown and Elisabeth M. Ingoldsby; two sons, Francis Jr. and Roger; five grandchildren.

, 88, formerly of Barre, died July 2. Born in 1908 in Barre, she was the daughter of Lackey and Nora (Murphy) Good. She was educated in Barre City schools and graduated from Spaulding High School. She graduated from Trinity College with a degree in English and received a master's in counseling from Boston University. She entered the Sisters of Mercy of Vermont in 1927 and professed her vows in 1930. She taught at Cathedral Grammar School and Cathedral High School in Burlington, Marian High School in Barre and St. Mary's in Middlebury. Survivors include her sisters in religion, Sisters of Mercy of Vermont; a sister, Sister Aileen Good.
