, 82, formerly of Bethel, died Jan. 18. Born in 1914 in Bethel, she was the daughter of Walter and Evelyn (Benoir) Blanchard. She was educated in Bethel and Randolph schools. In 1937, she married William O'Brien, who died in 1982. She was a member of the Ascutney Union Church. She was an assembler at Cone-Blanchard Machine in Windsor and she also operated an antique shop and vegetable stand in Ascutney. Survivors include four nephews, John and George O'Brien, Steven Russell and Donald Martin; one niece, Barbara Rosinski.

, 65, formerly of Moretown and more recently of Framington, Mass., died Jan. 19. Born in Moretown, he was the son of Maurice and Beatrice (Seymour) Eastman. He graduated from Waterbury High School and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He earned a MBA from Babson College and served with the Navy during the Korean War. He was a pharmacist and sales representative with Abbott Laboratories, retiring in 1989. For the past five years, he was employed as a pharmacist at MetroWest Medical Center in Natick, Mass. Survivors include his wife, Sally (Donahue) Eastman; a son, Christopher; three daughters, Tracy Eastman, Diane Eastman and Laurie McCarthy; two sisters; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

, 75, of Northfield, died Jan. 18. Born in 1921 in Fitchburg, Mass., she was the daughter of Victor and Irene (Dwinell) Smith. She attended West Chester State College, receiving a bachelor of science degree in music education. She received a masters in music from the University of PA. She taught music in the public school system in PA and MD and in Northfield. She also taught cello privately. In 1952, she married Lt. Robert Bradley. After her husband retired, they moved to Northfield. Mr. Bradley died in 1983. Her memberships included the United Church of Northfield. Survivors include three sons, Robert, Douglas and Christopher; two brothers; seven grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

, 78, of Worcester and Montpelier and more recently of FL, died Jan. 18. Born in 1918 in Worcester, he was the son of Noyes and Winifred (Lucas) Pedroza. He was first married to Lillian Foote. He later married Evelyn Weaver in 1969. He was an information person at the Daytona Greyhound Race Track for 27 years. Survivors include his wife; a son, Daniel Patridge; a daughter, Loretta Nerva; four grandchildren; a brother; a sister; nieces and nephews.

, 93, formerly of Hardwick and more recently of FL, died Jan. 17. Born in 1903 in Hardwick, he was the son of Alfred and Mary (LePete) Demars. He graduated from Hardwick Academy. He operated a pool hall in Hardwick and then moved to Montpelier, where he operated a bowling alley. He later started the Brown Derby Restaurant in Montpelier. He sold the restaurant and moved to Richford and operated the Richford Inn. He then moved to Essex Junction and operated the Lincoln Inn. He was a communicant of St. Raphael's Catholic Church of Florida. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Trombly; two grandchildren; two sisters; nieces and nephews. His wife, Corrine, died in 1991.

, 84, of Tunbridge, died Jan. 20. Born in 1912 in Hartford, he was the son of Harvard and Eva (Davidson) Dodge. He attended school in Norwich and South Royalton High School. He farmed for many years in Tunbridge and then became an insurance agent for the Cooperative Fire Insurance Company in Middlebury. He became a director and then chief executive officer, retiring in 1981. In 1936, he married Elizabeth Josler. Survivors include his wife; one sister, Marguerite Richardson; nieces and nephews.

, 48, of Waterbury, died Jan. 20. Born in 1948 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., he was the son of May (Simmons) and George Veach. He received his early education in Hyde Park, N.Y. schools and F.D. Roosevelt High School. He served with the Army. In 1967, he married Ruth Ann Dalrymple. He had been employed at Wilber's Burial Vault Company and moved to Waterbury, where he and his wife managed the Gateway Motel. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Rae Ann Ruiz, Jennie Fusco and Julia Danyow; a son, James Jr.; 11 grandchildren; his mother; two sisters; six brothers; several nieces and nephews.

In 1916, she married Harry Blair, who died in 1988. She was employed at Lyons Drug Store in Rochester and was a member of the Federated Church of Rochester. She moved to Northfield in 1991. She received her early education in Rochester and graduated from Whitcomb High School in Bethel. In 1954, she married Raymond Chandler Sr. She was later married to Charles Patrick in 1986, who died in 1987. She was a nurse's aid in Gifford Memorial Hospital, a waitress at Brown Derby Restaurant and a caregiver in Royalton. She also worked at the White River Valley Herald, the Forrest Poultry Outlet and the Chieftain Motor Inn in Hanover, N.H. Survivors include one son, Raymond Chandler Jr.; two daughters, Kandy Pixley and Janice Chandler; eight grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

, 88, of Randolph Center, died Jan. 21. Born in 1908 in Union Village, he was the son of Judge Everett and Anna (Marshall) Walling. He was educated in Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass., Brown University and Harvard Law School. Following graduated from Harvard, he was appointed to head the new Rhode Island Labor Department. In 1933, he married Frances Slosson Holiday, who died in 1972. He then married Sydney Parker in 1973, who died in 1986. He worked for a New York City law firm, was assigned by the United Nations to Guatemala, was head of the American Economic Aid Mission to Cambodia and Columbia, worked for a French American Bauxite Mining Company and the International Executive Service Corps in West Africa and Tunisia. Following retirement in 1975, he moved to Randolph. He was a member of St. John's Church (Episcopal) in Randolph. Survivors include one son, Alexander; a stepdaughter, Judith Parker; a stepson, Jameson Parker; four grandchildren.

He served with the Army and then began work with Northfield Electric Company until 1967. In 1947, he married Eunice Bettis, who died in 1972. Survivors include his daughter, Marlene Kirkpatrick; a stepdaughter, Betty Krick; four step-sons, Robert Harvey, Eugene Harvey, Burley Harvey and Bradley Harvey; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother; a niece and a nephew.
