PLATTSBURGH - Joanne R. Gregoire, 70, of Plattsburgh, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 following a brief battle with cancer. Born on October 18, 1947 in Brightlook Hospital, St. Johnsbury, VT, she was the daughter of the late Alfred L. and Ruth E. (Jenne) Barrett. She grew up in Lyndonville, VT spending summers at the family camp on Miles Pond. After graduating from Lyndon Institute, she went on to Albany Business College where she met her husband, William A. Gregoire Jr. They were married on December 19, 1969 and lived in Keeseville, NY for a short time before moving to their current residence in Plattsburgh. Joanne was a devoted wife and mother to her two boys. She was very involved in Boy Scouts, and enjoyed several cross country road trips as a family. She also loved camping, crafts, and playing cards. Most of all, she enjoyed just spending time with family. Survivors besides her husband of 49 years include her sons, Brian Gregoire (Jessica) of Hudson Falls and TJ Gregoire (Heather) of Corinth; three grandchildren, Matthew, Kaylee, and Gabby; two siblings, Cindy Griffen (Peter) of Milton, VT, and Gary Barrett of VT; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be conducted at 12p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., with Rev. John Aldridge officiating. Friends may call from 11-12 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
