Herman Hansen, Jr.
....show of Alburgh passed away at the St. Albans Health and Rehabilitation Center on January 4, 2017 with his family by his side.
Herman was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on December 3, 1928, the son of Herman Hansen, Sr. and Marie Christansen. Herman received an honorable discharge after serving in the United States Army from 1946-1948. On August 9, 1951 he was married to the former Rosella Hutchins, who survives him.
He was one of the founding members of Alburgh Fire Department and also belonged to Columbus Lodge #11 F&AM. He was a Master Plumber and a Master Electrician. He was self-employed as a farmer for many years after which he was employed by the local telephone company until retirement in 1991. He was affiliated with many organizations. Herman and Rose enjoyed spending winters at their home in Florida.
He leaves his wife Rosella of 65+ years; his brother, Hans (Andrew) Hansen; his three sons, Herman (Chris) and Pam, Theodore Hansen and Lynn and Thomas and Lynne; grandchildren Crystal, Darcie, Alyson, Jenna and Johnathan and four great grandchildren. His parents, sister-in-law, Ann, and niece, Lucille, predeceased him.
In keeping with Hermans wishes there will be no public calling hours. There will be a private time of remembrance at the convenience of the family.

Henry Aaron Hutchins
....show , Papa , Age 86, died peacefully in the comfort of his home Wednesday evening, January 4, 2017.
Henry was born in North Hero, VT on June 21, 1930. He graduated from Alburgh High School in 1948. Shortly following his graduation, he served his country with the United States Army in the Korean War. After returning from the war, he married the love of his life, Jean (Dodds) Hutchins. Henry and Jean settled in North Hero where they raised their two sons; Monty and Sherman Hutchins.
Henry was a true Vermonter at heart and lived out his days on the farm. He valued his family above all else, especially time spent with his four great grandchildren. Henry was a very active member of the North Hero community; serving as a volunteer fire fighter, as well as a member of the Development Review Board for many years. He was a big fan of the NY Yankees and enjoyed watching the game show channel in his spare time.
Henry is survived by his two sons, Monty Hutchins and Sherman Hutchins; daughter-in-law, Sue Cleland, grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Kim Hutchins, Aaron Hutchins, Landon and Mary Hutchins, Christie and Levi Kraemer and Corey Hutchins; 4 great grandchildren, Isaac Hutchins, Ava Hutchins, Chloe Hutchins and Lucy Kraemer.
Henry was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jean, his sister, Beatrice Roy and brother-in-law, E. Bernard Roy, as well as his brother-in-law, Herman Hanson.
Henry will be remembered for his strength, sense of humor and his love of his family and farm.

George A. Spear
....show , another member of Tom Brokaws Greatest Generation, has slipped away. Feisty to the end, George found peace on January 2, 2017, after more than 100 years of living life to the fullest on his terms. Business man, patriot, husband, father, uncle, grand and great-grand parent and, of course, curmudgeon, George will join his beloved wife, Elinor; stepson, Jack Shivery; father, Harold A. Spear; mother, Sarah Savage Spear; stepmother, Sarah OConnor Spear; brothers, Kenneth and Leo; and sisters, Genevieve, Ruth and Helen, and everyone whom he loved, including his beloved Labradors who have patiently waited for him at Rainbow Bridge to cross into the Kingdom of Heaven together.
George was number four of six children and the oldest boy. He is survived by his sons, Ned (Betty Cheney) and Peter (Elizabeth Keith); grandchildren Matthew, Jesse (Tammara), Daniel (Kim) and Carolyn (Adam Wagman), Suzanah (Steve Cain) as well as great grandchildren, Remington (Remy), Lana, Shia, Thea, Zachary, and Alanna, Ana, Kyra and Jack, and beloved nephews and niece, Donald, Thomas (Susan), Leo Michael (Sandra), Elliot (Joanne), Kathleen (Edward Patnode) and James Moody (Esther). George was also predeceased in 2016 by his wonderful stepson, Jack Shivery, and caring and loving nephews John and Patrick Spear, and in 2014 by Leo B. Spear Jr.
Born in Burlington on December 5, 1916, Georges mother, Sarah, died during the Great Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918. Until his father remarried, he was raised in the house of his Aunt Lillian and Grandfather John Savage, both of whom also lived well past 100 years.
George spent his early years in Burlington and Essex, spending every summer at his grandparents lakeshore property in Grand Isle or at a rented cottage on the West Shore. Moving day to Grand Isle during the 1920\u0027s was quite a scene with kids and dogs hanging out of every window of H.A.s old LaSalle Touring car. Trunks were piled on the roof and rear and on the running boards. Tied on the top of the trunks and on the seats beneath the sitting kids were several crates containing H.A.s much pampered live duck decoys. Blackie, Blind Eye and Lamey (he lost a leg to a snapping turtle) received preferential treatment, together with another dozen or so quacking, flapping Black Ducks. Waterfowl hunting throughout Lake Champlain and the St. Lawrence occupied George and H.A.s every Fall. After the enactment of the migratory Bird Treaty, the flyer and caller Judas ducks became only pets but continued to be pampered and honored, though probably not by their wild feathered brethren.
George joined the family glove business upon graduating from Burlington High School where he excelled, under Coach Buck Hard, at baseball, earning the nickname Two Bagger for his propensity for hitting doubles or stretching long singles into doubles. The business, which was begun by his great-grandfather Elias in the 1840\u0027s, soon became H. A. Spear & Sons. George became the principal salesman traveling throughout New England and New York, exhibiting the companys renowned line of deerskin gloves and mittens under the Spearson brand. The business, still known as H. A. Spear & Sons, continues today under the able control of Georges nephew, Thomas.
In 1938, at a dance in South Hero, George was introduced by Gertrude and Charlie Parrott to Elinor Mae Winslow, a striking, dark haired beauty from Wilmington, Delaware, who became the love of his life. After a long courtship, George and Elinor were married in March, 1941, while he was serving in the 172nd Infantry Regiment. George embraced Elinors son, John (Jack) Shivery as his own, and they all maintained a lifelong loving commitment to each other until Elinors death in 2001 and Jacks in 2016. Ned joined the family in 1943 and Peter in 1949. Elinor never rushed anything.
World War II was the defining period in Georges life. He communicated with many, including his best buddy, Chester Swank, until their deaths. He was immensely proud of his own service and the combat service of his brothers Leo (Normandy, Aachen, The Hurtgen Forest, Battle of the Bulge) and Kenneth (anti-submarine warfare in the Carribean and South Atlantic), as well as his nephew Jesse (Special Forces Afghanistan and the desert) and grandson Daniel (Bosnia, Kuwait/Iraq).
While not given to philosophical reflection, George subscribed to the belief that, while Okinawa was the worst experience of his life, it was one which he would not have missed for anything.
No one could ever quite equal Elinors apple pie, baked beans or Yorkshire Pudding. That said, in reality, George never met a pie he didnt like. A Mason for more than 70 years, George, the first president of the Essex Optimist Club, was active throughout his community in small, but subtle ways. A skeet shooter all of his adult life, he received a plaque from the Franklin County Sportsmans Club commemorating 75 years of shooting. He was never more pleased than when hed post 25 straight with his .410.
Caregivers Laurie Robare, Terry Sharples, Sandra Kelley, Karen Searles and Amanda Shoram, enabled George to enjoy the beauty of his Grand Isle home watching the ferries and remembering sailing his Celebrity and ODay day sailers and angling for big Walleyes and Northern Pike. A life well and truly lived.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 6, 2017, at 12 Noon from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. The Reverend Kerry T. Cameron will officiate. Entombment will follow to await spring interment at the Spear family lot in Fairview Cemetery, Essex Junction.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
A Masonic Ritualistic Service will be exemplified at 11:45 a.m. by members of the Seventy-Six Lodge #14, F. & A.M. of Swanton.

Patricia Ann O\u0027Shea of Franklin, VT, passed away January 2nd, 2017 after a courageous battle with ALS. She was surrounded by friends and family on a beautiful winter day. The sun was shining and the birds and squirrels were playing in the trees.
Pat was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 1, 1949, the first-born daughter of Grace (OLeary) and Walter Fink. She graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with a BA in English and later received a Master\u0027s Degree in Library Science from UVM. After moving to Vermont in 1971 she worked at Carneys, Champlain Hotel, Head Start, Vermont Basic Adult Education, Enosburg Elementary and Enosburg Falls High School. She later became a hospice volunteer for Franklin County Home Health.
Patricia is survived by her husband Christopher of Franklin, her sister Grace Heltz of Williston, her children Eamon O\u0027Shea, his wife Shawna, Brendan O\u0027Shea, his wife Anna, and Ali O\u0027Shea as well as her grandchildren, Quinn, Hazel and Ellery.
Pat was a good soul and a great wife, mother and grandmother. Pat gave strength to all around her and was always there to help. She enjoyed walks with friends, skiing, kayaking, traveling, quilting, biking, hiking, her mediation meetings, spending time with her grand daughters and was always game for an adventure. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Pats life has been planned for Monday, January 9th. The service will be held at Pratt Hall in Montgomery Village at noon. Flowers and cards can be sent to 2956 Mountain Road, Montgomery Center, VT 05471.

FRANKLIN - Carroll R. Jed Adams
....show , age 77, passed away at his home on Tuesday January 24, 2017 with his family by his side.
He was born December 27, 1939 in New London, New Hampshire the son of the late Leslie & Clara (Dunham) Adams.
Jed grew up in Sheldon and attended Sheldon Elementary School and was a 1957 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. Following high school Jed entered the U. S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Jed moved back to Vermont in 1969 to settle down and started his working career at the Sheldon Pulp Mill and then was a machine operator for the Pipeline. He then worked at Franklin Foods in Enosburg Falls retiring after 33 years of dedicated service. He will be remembered by his family and co-workers for his strong work ethic.
Jed was a member of the American Legion Post #42 of Enosburg Falls and the Missisquoi Valley Sportsman Club. Jed always looked forward to the Annual Adams Family Reunion. He was an avid hunter and in his later years enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his children, Jeremy Adams and his partner Lisa Holappa of Franklin, Travis Adams and his wife Amy of Franklin, Jerod Adams and his wife Trish of Berkshire, and Rebekah Adams of Franklin; his grandchildren, Bridgette, Kristina, Gracey, Emily, Brady, Wyatt & Owen; the mother of his children, Beverly Adams of Richford; his siblings and their spouses, Sherman & Leona Adams of Fairfax, Florence Flossie Powers, of Northport, FL, James & Janice Adams of Fairfield, Mildred Carpenter of Fairfield, Leslie Adams of Pequea, PA, Muriel Lavoie of Johnson, Franklin Cookie & Mary Adams of Richford, and Priscilla & Arnold Haydu of Bethel, CT. Besides his parents, Jed was predeceased by his son, Josh Adams on December 3, 2014; his sisters, Eunice Blouin & Irene Adams; his sister-in-law, Jeanne Adams; and brothers-in-law, Gene Powers, Calvin Carpenter & Richard Lavoie.

Lorraine E. Chevalier
....show , age 84 years, died suddenly Monday evening, January 23, 2017, at her Lakewood Drive residence with her son Eric at her side.
Born in Alburgh on, November 10, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Mary (Belair) Martell. She attended Alburgh schools and graduated from Johnson State Teachers College. Lorraine was a teacher and principal at the former Alburgh High School. In addition, Lorraine and her husband owned and operated Chevaliers Real Estate and Insurance Company for many years. Lorraine loved her home, her pets and gardening.
On August 14, 1959, she was married to Maurice Banjo Chevalier who predeceased her on October 27, 2001.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Diane Chevalier of S. Alburgh; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Andrew Jones of Wichita, TX; two sisters, Gladys Rocheleau of St. Albans and Gloria Martell of Georgia; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was predeceased by her siblings, Allen Martell, Karl Martell and Madeline Doyle.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with The Reverend Kerry T. Cameron officiating. Interment will follow at the Chevalier family lot in St. Amadeus Cemetery Alburgh.

ENOSBURG FALLS - Shelba J. Prive
....show , age 69, passed away at her home with her loving husband at her side on Sunday, January 22, 2017 following a long illness.
Shelba was born April 4, 1947 in Barton, VT the daughter of the late Alvin E. Miles Sr & Evelyn (Laroque) Miles.
Shelbas working career was focused on bookkeeping for several companies including, CVOEO, Champlain Chevrolet, Howard Bank & R&D Enterprises (Bob Cota). She also worked as a bar tender at the American Legion in Enosburg Falls and as a clerk at Family Dollar in Enosburg Falls.
Shelba enjoyed doing crosswords, knitting, going to lawn sales, BINGO, dancing, picnics, embroidering & art-tex painting. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family get-togethers.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Prive of Enosburg Falls; her daughter, Nancy Bovat and her husband David of Springfield, VT; her son, Scott Prive and his fianc, Samantha Marchessault; her grandchildren, Max Messier, Dawson & Taylor Bovat, and Harlee & Keegan Prive; her step granddaughter, Natalie Johnson; her brother, Alvin Miles Jr. and his partner Avris Billado of Enosburgh; her sister, Donna Jutras and her husband Michael of Sheldon; an aunt, uncle and several nieces, nephews & cousins. Besides her parents, Shelba was predeceased by her sister, Bonnie Miles

Ralph Carroll Hubbard
....show , 86 passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2017 with family by his side at his home in Swanton, Vermont.
Ralph was born on April 28, 1930 in Swanton, Vermont to Edith and G. Raymond Hubbard of Swanton, Vermont.
Ralph graduated from Swanton High school in 1947 and the Vermont School of Agriculture in Randolph Center, Vermont in 1948. He met the love of his life, Patricia Elizabeth (Prior) Hubbard while attending school, and they married on June 18, 1950.

Two of his most treasured positions were serving as the Vice president of the Missisquoi Valley Union School Board and Vice President of the St. Albans Co-operative creamery. After retiring from farming, he worked with his brother, John Hubbard as a carpenter for many years. Ralph enjoyed spending time visiting with friends and family, and meeting many friends during his winters spent in Florida.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia Elizabeth Hubbard, and his four children Dick and Barb Hubbard of Leland, North Carolina, Jim and Jennifer Hubbard of Swanton, Jeff Hubbard and his partner Kelly Hall of Swanton, and Bob and Maria Hubbard of St. Albans. Ralph leaves behind his grandchildren, Cory Hubbard, Alex Hubbard and fianc Lori LoGuidice, Ryan Hubbard, Joie Hatin and husband Chris, Jack Hubbard and wife Danielle, Jake Hubbard, Rachel Berthiaume and husband Erik, Tori Hubbard, Derek Heald and wife Ashley, Ryan Heald and partner Kristy St. Francis; three great-grandchildren, Colton and Addison Hatin and Aubree Heald. Ralph also leaves his brother John Hubbard of Swanton and his sister, Virginia Dunbar of W. Glover and several nieces and nephews
He was predeceased by his brother George Hubbard.

Brian James Welsh
....show , 76, of Grand Isle, VT, returned to his heavenly home on January 19, 2017. He joins his wife of 39 years, Alice Theresa Terry Welsh, who preceded him in 2003.
Brian was born December 19, 1940, in Jamaica Queens, NY, to James and Martha Welsh. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School and received a Bachelors degree at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, where he and Terry first met as freshman. He attended the Philadelphia Lutheran Seminary where he took holy orders to become an ordained Lutheran minister.
He and Terry married in June 1963 and started out their married lives in Philadelphia PA. They then spent many years on Long Island, where they were very involved with their church, Saint Anns church in Sayville, NY and many philanthropic aspects of the community. There they welcomed into the world three children.
After Brians work as a minister, he joined the New York Telephone Company, where he worked for the rest of his corporate career. In 1984, he and his family moved to Grand Isle, VT, where he again took on an active role in the community through various philanthropic, fine arts organizations, culminating in his work founding the Grand Isle Community Chorus along with his important work as an EMT and President of Grand Isle Rescue. Brian was a talented artist and painted many landscapes of the stunning scenery of the Lake Champlain Islands, work which can be seen today in many homes and local businesses. Brian loved sailing and the family spent many weekends and vacations aboard his sailboat on the Long Island Sound and later on Lake Champlain. A member of MENSA, Brian particularly enjoyed intellectual pursuits including philosophy, literature, theology, music and history.
Brian is survived by his 3 children: James Welsh and his wife Marsha of Richmond VA, and their kids, Martha G Hoehl and her husband John and their children Jack and Grace of South Burlington VT and his youngest son Theodore Welsh and his wife Patricia and their Children, Lachlan, Ainsley, Lily and Griffin. He is also survived by his two sisters: Arlene Potter of Bedford, TX, and Karen Etlin of Pocatello, ID. Along with their Husbands children and grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be at The Kidder Memorial Home 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, VT on Friday, January 27, from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 28, at 11:00 a.m. from the North Hero United Methodist Church, 3671, Vermont US Route 2, North Hero Village. RICHFORD - Marilyn S. Ashton
....show , age 82, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at The Villa Rehab Center in St. Albans.
She was born May 19, 1934 in Highgate to the late Merrill & Mabel (Barr) Smith.
Marilyn spent most of her life living in Richford. She worked at the Union Carbide Company in St. Albans for 27 years. Her hobbies included walking, cooking, sewing and knitting. Marilyn loved animals, especially her dogs Cody & Jessie. Holidays, family dinners and weekends spent at John & Ramonas home with family and friends were her favorite memories.
She is survived by her 3 children, Kelley Ashton of Waterbury, William Ashton and his wife Joyce of Highgate and Lesa Ashton of Loveland, CO; 4 grandchildren, Edwin Miller, Wade Ashton, Rebecca Ashton and Kylie Haynes and special nieces & nephews, Darrell & Jen Regan and their children Adam & Hayley, Eileen Benneig and her children Jesse, Robert, Selina & Eric, Darlene & Chris Larose and their daughter Isabelle and Ronald Regan and his children Emily & David. EAST BERKSHIRE, VT / RED OAK, IA - Harold P. Vest
....show , age 93, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 at the St. Albans Health & Rehab Center.
He was born December 2, 1923 in Kirkman, Iowa to the late Ralph and Lenore (McGee) Vest.
Harold graduated from Red Oak High School in Iowa and then joined the U.S. Army in 1943. He served in Germany during World War II in the 78th Division of the 311th Regiment of the Infantry under General Parker. Following his discharge in 1946 he married Gloria Ann Murray on September 18th. Harold worked several jobs before starting at the Union Carbide Company in 1948. He retired in 1985 after 37 years with the company; 3 of those years were spent at their St. Albans, Vermont location.
He was a member and former treasurer of All Angels Episcopal Church in Red Oak, Iowa. Harold spent the past 5 years living in Vermont. He attended St. Matthews Episcopal Church and the Enosburg Falls United Methodist Church. Harold was also a former member of the Red Oak Country Club and Eagles Club of Iowa and a current member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his children, Jon Vest and his wife Rhonda of Omaha, NE and Mary Larivee and her husband Larry of East Berkshire, VT; his grandchildren, Jason Robtoy and his wife Lara of Enosburg Falls, VT, Adam Robtoy and his wife Mary of Barre, VT, Colin Vest of Marion, NC, Erin Sloan and her fianc Shane Rhian of Omaha, NE and Kristin Morgan and her husband Mick of Omaha, NE; 8 great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Lillian, Annalise, Colleen, Kellen, Elliot, Josslyn and Harrison; brother-in-law, Jarrette Murray and his wife Margaret of Council Bluffs, IA and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, Harold was predeceased by his wife, Gloria Vest; his son, James Vest and his siblings, Opal Foy and Max Vest.

James Robert Walker, Sr.

Born July 3, 1932 to Florence and George Walker Sr., James Robert Walker Sr. was reunited with his wife Gloria Martell Walker on January 7, 2017 surrounded by loved ones at the age of 84. He was married to Gloria Martell Walker on July 3, 1954 and had three children that survive him - Brenda Morrison, James Walker Jr., and Kevin Walker. He was predeceased by his brother George Walker Jr. sister Betty Parizo, and grandson Christopher Walker. He is survived by his brothers Herbert, Bruce, and Francis Walker. He is survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
James Walker Sr. was employed at Hood Creamery, Richmond Coop, and Wyeth Nutritionals from which he retired at the age of 61. He was an exceptionally hard-working man and was an avid outdoorsman. Those who knew him will remember his generosity, his sense of humor, and his love for family. His life serves as a reminder that there are many ways to make a positive lasting impression in the world. One does not have to be president or a film star to leave their mark. He made the world a better place with his kindness and many other values that live on through his legacy. His children, grandchildren, and extended family carry on the best of what he brought to the world and generations from now those same values and the unbroken line of love will still make the world a better place. He was loved during his best moments and he was loved in his worst. He will be greatly missed by many people and will live on through their memory and the way that they walk in the world.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 7 p.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue. Father Luke P. Austin will officiate. The Rite of Committal and Interment will take place at a later date.

Elizabeth Anne Lower
....show , age 76, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at her home in Sheldon home with her loving family by her side.
Elizabeth was born in Brattleboro, Vermont on February 22, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Jessica (Bessett) Byrd. She graduated from Brattleboro High School and continued her education thru community college. She was a parishioner of St. Michaels Catholic Church while in Brattleboro and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She volunteered for many organizations. Which included the Drop In Center, Hospice, Meals on Wheels and many more.
In 1991 she moved to Richford, Vt. She was a parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church, where she was an active member in volunteering for several community projects. In 2012 she moved to Sheldon, Vt., with her daughter Erin and family, where she finished out her life with her best friend, Rascal (pug) by her side.
Elizabeth (Betty) was a very strong woman. She had faith and a heart of gold. She was a true humanitarian. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she cherished. She loved sewing, crocheting, knitting, quilting and was an avid gardener.
Elizabeth is survived by one son; Daniel Finnell and his companion Debra of Brattleboro,
Three daughters; Colleen Finnell Miera of Tucson AZ, Erin Campbell and her husband Shawn of Sheldon, Vt, Jessica Lower and companion Richard Spitzer of Essex, VT. Three step-children Carol Hebert of FL, Mary Yanizze of VT and Valerie Raynor of MA.; grandchildren Charlles Kingsbury II, Andrew Bezanson, Katelyn Reed, Kai Brouillette, Danielle Kendall, Alyssa Kendall, Gabriel Brouillette. Step-grandchildren; Troy, Jordan, & Chandler Campbell and Haley Cooper.

Born in Hartford, CT on, January 29, 1964, he was the son of the late Robert and Anna Mae (Curtis) Hilliker.
Leonard is survived by, his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Gary and Barbara Curtis of Bloomfield, VT, Larry Hilliker of Cameron, NC, George and Judy Hilliker of Cameron, NC, Robert and Valerie Hilliker of Richford, Cynthia and Donald Hakey of Mooers, NY, Roberta and Tim Staples of Bethel as well many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Leonard was predeceased by a brother, Timothy Hilliker; a sister, Charlotte Teer and two nephews, David Hilliker and Jason Hakey.

....show , age 72, widow of Ralph Casavant, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Holiday House Residential Care Home in St. Albans with her loving family at her side..
She was born in St. Albans on November 10, 1944 the daughter of the late Arnold & Margaret (Brennan) Therrien.
Kay was a graduate of BFA St. Albans. She married Ralph Casavant on October 14, 1967. Kay was a vocalist/singer in her younger years at various venues in Vermont and New York and received many recognitions at vocalist competitions. She and Ralph, her husband of 38 years settled in Berkshire where they raised their family. She worked part-time as a waitress at the Crossing in Richford for several years.
Kay enjoyed gardening, decorating, crafting and singing in the local church choir. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and was a devoted mother & grandmother, attending many of her children and grandchildrens concerts and sporting events.
She is survived by her children, Christopher Casavant and his fianc, Suzanne Hull-Parent, and Angela Wright and her husband Dean all of Enosburgh; her grandchildren, Emily, Ellis & Kathryn; her brother, Michael Mickey Therrien and his wife Bonnie of Enid, OK; her brothers-in-law, John Tatro of Sheldon and John Phillips of Zephyrills, FL; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Kay was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Wayne Therrien; her sisters, Maureen LaPlante, Judy Ryan, Sally Phillips, and Jacqueline Tatro.

SHOREHAM - Gene D. Willey
....show , 86, passed away at the home of his son, Lyle, in Bakersfield on Friday, February 10, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 24, 1930 in West Littleton, NH to Rupert and Georgia (Farnham) Willey.
Gene was a 1948 graduate of Littleton High School and pursued his lifetime passion of dairy farming, beginning on the family farm off the Foster Hill Road. On July 31, 1949 he married Anita Santy of Lyman, NH and together they worked the farm and raised six children. In 1963 Gene and Anita purchased and operated a farm in Shoreham, Vermont where they remained for the rest of their lives.
Gene was both an ambitious and progressive farmer. In addition to farming, he was a licensed cattle dealer, real estate broker, and operated a farm auction business. He served as a dairy advisor to U.S. Representative James Jeffords, was President of the Addison County Farmer Bureau, and a key legislative liaison for both the local and state Farm Bureau. He was an early member of the Shoreham Fire Department, a town lister, and member and Trustee of the Shoreham Congregational Church.
He is survived by four sons; Curtis, Sr. (Jeanette) of Bridport, John (Deborah) of Hydeville, Lyle (Carol) of Bakersfield and Ronald (Regina) of Whiting, one daughter, Carol Hubbard of Brandon, 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; a brother, Mervyn of Island Pond, VT, brother-in-law, John MacIver of Littleton, NH; many nephews, nieces and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Anita, in 2012 and his son, Lenard, in 1991.
The family would like to thank the many Home Health and Hospice workers and volunteers of both Addison and Franklin County who allowed our parents to remain at home for the past ten years. We are deeply indebted to you.

Adam Francis Desrochers
....show , age 35 years, died in a tragic automobile accident on Saturday afternoon, February 4, 2017.
Born in Wheatridge, Colorado on, November 7, 1981, he was the son of Raymond and Susan (Cook) Desrochers. He attended Swanton schools graduating from Missisquoi Valley Union High School in the class of 1999. Since 2011 Adam had been associated as an account manager with Vermont Information Processing in Colchester.
Adams passion in life was music, having excelled in in high school as a member of the school band and master singers. At present he and his longtime friend Adam Locke own and operate the Deadlocke music studio in Waterville as well as having his own two bands known as Absolute Zero and Hershniperd.
In addition to his mother Susan (Cook) Desrochers; and his father, Raymond Desrochers and his wife Sandra, Adam leaves his daughter, Hannah (10) the love of his life and his life partner, Ashley Drinkwater all of Swanton; his sister, Jennifer Whittaker and husband Erik of Canton; his maternal grandmother, Rita Cook of Swanton and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Theresa Kurek: maternal grandfather, Willis Cook and Uncle, Robert Cook.
A Celebration of Adams life will be held, Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 2 p.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. The Reverend Kerry T. Cameron will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Albans.

Born in St. Albans on, January 28, 1955, she was the daughter of Bert and Joan (Brooks) Pion. On May 27, 2005, she was married to Peter Cross who survives her. For several years she had worked for Northwest Counseling and Support Services.
Patty enjoyed hunting and fishing, weeding the garden, Bingo, television game shows visiting the casinos, and cooking. Patty was particularly proud of her accomplishment as the Vermont Maple Festival 2014 Vermonts Best Maple Cook.
She was a parishioner of St. Patricks Roman Catholic Church in Fairfield Center and a member of the Ladies of St. Patrick.
In addition to her husband Peter she leaves her father, Bert Pion of Fairfield; three sons, Mark Gebo and his companion, David Bingham of Brattleboro, Richard Cross and wife Carissa, of S. Burlington and Andrew Cross and wife Erika of S. Burlington; two grandchildren, Keren and Jonah Bingham; two sisters, Rose Peno and husband Glenn of Sheldon and Karen Pion of Fairfield, brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Debra Cross, Suzan (Suebee) Comette, Cathy and Roy St. Pierre, Jeannette and Mark Cadieux, John and Helen Cross and Monica and James Robert and several nieces and nephews.

He was born September 7, 1936 in Jeffersonville, VT to the late Clarence & Mary (Playful) Severance.
Raymond grew up in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1954. He married Yvette Crepeau on October 10, 1963 and they raised their three children in Sheldon. Throughout his career Raymond spent time working as a surveyor, followed by truck driving for H.P. Hood in St. Albans for 12 years and for Mcdermotts Inc. in Enosburg Falls for 27 years. Raymond, also known by his C.B. handle Early Riser , thoroughly enjoyed his nightly trip to Boston hauling milk; he made many friends during his time working for McDermotts.
His favorite hobby was taking care of his garden and lawn throughout the year. Raymond served on the Sheldon School Board for 15 years and the Sheldon Town Zoning Board for several years. Raymonds pride and joy was his grandchildren and he would spend time with them any chance he could.

RICHFORD - Jane Kidder
....show , age 80, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at Franklin County Health & Rehab Center in St. Albans.
She was born in Sweetsburg, Quebec on October 31, 1936 to the late Paul & Florence (McDougall) Norris.
Jane graduated from Richford High School in 1955; where she was a standout on the basketball court. Always a competitor, she was legendary for her last minute, buzzer beating shots.
Jane married Douglas Kidder on May 12, 1958 and they made their home in Richford for most of their life.
She held many jobs over the years, but the one she is most known for is driving school bus in Richford, a job she held for 26 years. Being an avid sports fan she enjoyed driving the Richford Athletic teams to events throughout the state.
Janes greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was very involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was very proud of them all. She will be greatly missed. She also had a profound love of animals which she passed along to her children. Her compassion for animals in need meant that the doors of the family home were always open. A diapered, orphaned lamb once called her kitchen home. Being an early member of the Missisquoi Riding and Driving Club she helped with trail rides and horseshows; she rode and kept horses for most of her life. Jane loved traveling and was always ready for road trips, especially if she was the one behind the wheel. She became interested in motorcycles, starting with a moped in the 1970s and ending with a Honda 750 in the 1990s. When she first started, she said she was trying to conserve energy, but her friends and family knew differently as she soon enjoyed the freedom of the open road. Always an active person, Jane pitched for a competitive womens softball team well into her 60s, playing with women half her age. She also enjoyed golfing, bowling, snowmobiling and having afternoon coffee with friends at the local coffee shops. Jane loved music and had a special fondness for Daniel ODonnell, attending many of his concerts. She was also a member of the American Legion Post #12 Auxiliary in Richford.
She is survived by her children, Randy Kidder and his wife Debbie of Topeka, KS, Mike Kidder of Richford, Sharon Waterhouse and her husband Mark of Richford, and Kim Manley and her husband Ward of Enosburgh Center; her grandchildren, Chris Brown and his wife Daphne, Shelli Bartnick and her husband Mike, Matt Brown, Elizabeth Izzy Kidder, Jessica Kett and her husband Bill, Josh Waterhouse and his wife Cristy, Craig Fuller, and Dana Fuller and his wife Alyssa; her great grandchildren, Hunter & Hayden Brown, Madison Bartnick, Jayna & Adam Kett, Haddie & Emilia Waterhouse, and Elliot, Harper & Charlotte Fuller; her brother-in-law, James Kidder and his wife Shirley of Bay City, OR and many nieces and nephews. He was born January 4, 1934 in Montgomery to the late George & Doris (Rushford) Sylvester.
Ronald grew up in Montgomery and graduated from Enosburg Falls High School. He married Jeannette Ouellette in 1957. They lived in Connecticut for the first part of their life; Ronald worked as a manager at Uniroyal. Ronald and Jeannette returned to Montgomery in 1977 where they owned and operated Sylvesters Inc. with Ronalds brother Larry and his wife Jeannean. He was a member of the Montgomery Volunteer Fire and Rescue for many years. His favorite hobbies were snowmobiling and taking road trips with anyone who was game.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Sylvester of St. Albans; their children, Denise Domina and her husband Barry of St. Albans, Randy Sylvester and his wife Brenda of Wallingford, CT, Kevin Sylvester and his wife Dianna of Wolcott, Terry Charron and her husband Chris of Lexington, MA, Francine Dunn and her husband Roger of Shelburne and a son-in-law, Dale Lumbra of Montgomery; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; his sister, Charlene Plouff of Enosburg Falls; sisters-in-law, Jeannean Sylvester and Maxine Robtoy of Enosburg Falls and Beverly Sylvester of Franklin and many other in-laws, nieces & nephews. ST. ALBANS - Timothy J. Michel
....show , age 52, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany New York.
He was born August 2, 1964 in St. Albans, VT the son of the late Paul & Margaret (Lyons) Michel.
Tim was a life-long resident of St. Albans. He had worked at The Foundry, North Country Linen and Eveready all in St. Albans. In his younger years Tim enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing hockey and was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan. His passion was music and played drums in several area bands including Southbound. Tim and his Southbound band members, Tony Nichols, Pat Jones, Jeff Lamos & Bob Lamos went to Nashville and recorded a top 30 hit. While in Nashville Tim played drums with many popular country artists including, Alabama, Diamond Rio, Jerry Reed, Confederate Railroad and Oak Ridge Boys. In 1996 he won the title of Best Drummer in New England. Tim led his life to the beat of his own drum and will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit and his ability to tell stories.
He is survived by his children, T.J. Michel and his wife Mandy of Highgate Center, C.J. Michel and his Fiance, Shelby Quesnel of St. Albans, and Brittany Michel and her partner Samuel Barr of Barre; his grandchildren, Gauge Michel & Colton James Barr; his siblings Ann Pecor of Sheldon, Paul Michel and his Fiance, Sheila Wilson of Enosburg Falls, Rose Wolff and her husband John of Ocala, FL, Tom Michel of Swanton, and Dennis Michel of St. Albans; several nieces and nephews. ....show , age 86 years, a lifelong Sheldon resident died early Friday morning March 10, 2017 in the Northwestern Medical Center with loving family at her side.
Born in East Highgate on March 9, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Sr., and Bernice (Horner) Johnson. She attended schools in East Highgate, Rice Hill and Sheldon and on June 24, 1951, was married to Winston Machia Sr., who survives her.
Dot was employed for 31 years with the former Fonda Group and was a lifetime member of Local 345. She loved to play Bingo and cards and was well known for keeping an immaculate lawn.
In addition to her husband Winston Sr., Dot leaves her daughter, Darlene Williams and husband Rodney of Franklin; her son, Winston Machia Jr., and his wife Oglor of Sheldon; four grandchildren, Michelle Williams and friend Greg of Enosburgh, Matthew and Jessica Williams of Sheldon, Heidi Machia and friend Jeremy of Franklin and Heather Machia of Highgate; six special great grandchildren Daniel Williams, Katie Pelkey, Jackson Baker, Wyatt Williams, Bella Mae Barnum and Hank Williams; two sisters, Maxine Barney of Swanton and Shirley Burns of Saint Albans; two brothers, Wayne Johnson and his wife Fay of North Carolina and Ivan Johnson and wife Carol of Swanton as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dot was predeceased by a sister, Laura Corwell and brothers, Raymond Chauncey, Albert, Daniel, Donald and Harold Johnson.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue Swanton. The Reverend Kerry T. Cameron will officiate. Entombment will follow to await spring interment in the Sheldon Village Cemetery.

Marietta Cole
....show , known to those who loved her as Etta, passed away peacefully in Richford, VT on March 8, 2017.
Born in Crosby, Minnesota on August 5, 1919, she was the only child of Johanne Isomaa and Martha Lampii, both immigrants from Finland.
Etta had fond memories of growing up in Duluth. She loved to ice skate in the winter and take the streetcar to Park Point on Lake Superior to swim with friends. Duluth is also where she met Walter Smith, whom she married in 1940. Walter was youngest of 8 children and Etta enjoyed being part of a large family. Walter and Etta moved to Cleveland, where they had two daughters and enjoyed dancing, bowling and singing in the church choir. Etta worked at Rotor Tool for 26 years and was proud of her work there and the independence it gave her, as well as her longtime friendships with co-workers Verna and Ginny. She was good at reading people and always knew when someone needed a hug or a joke. After Walter died in 1980, Etta retired to St. Petersburg, FL, where she met and married Bob Cole and thus expanded her family. Theirs was a life of fun, laughter and adventure.
In Florida Etta took up golf, which she played into her 80th year. She liked to walk and be active, and took advantage of the activities offered at the retirement community where she and Bob lived. All who knew her remember her as a very kind person with a great sense of humor and a deep and abiding love of music, singing, dancing, and eating ice cream. She also loved hosting family meals, and always made sure people had second helpings. Love of family was a defining characteristic. Throughout her life she had a strong faith, and was a member of various Lutheran and Methodist churches.
She is survived by her daughters Claudia Rose and Cheryle Stauffer, stepsons Lorin Cole and Tim Cole, grandchildren Jill Stauffer, Gail Rose, Natalie Kidder, Caitlyn Cole, Adam Cole and Danielle Cole, son-in-law Lewis Rose, daughters-in-law Linda Cole and Karen Cole and great grandchildren Miles Goldsmith, Megan Goldsmith and Ramsay Kidder.
For the last years of her life she lived at Our Lady of the Meadows Care Home. She loved her years there and was often heard expressing her love for the staff and her appreciation of their beauty. Her entire family feels deep gratitude for the love and care she received there.
Etta will be laid to rest in the spring next to her late husband Walter Smith in the Mentor Municipal Cemetery in Ohio.

She was born June 11, 1938 in Burlington the daughter of the late Joseph & Edna (Gordon) Bessette.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Roger Wolcott; her son, Mark Abell his wife Christina and their children, Cody & Cory of Fairfax; Lori Collins her husband Todd and their children, Cassie & Carson of Enosburgh; her sister, Jean Raymond her husband Hugh and their daughter, Carrie Hammond her husband Ryan and their son, Nolan; her sister-in-law, Joyce Bessette and her son Craig. Besides her parents, Rose was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Bessette.
Rose and her family would like to thank the staff of the Oncology Dept. at UVM for all their support and kindness. Also, a special friend, Chris Stimpson for his kindness over the years.

ST.ALBANS - Leo E. Hakey
....show , a resident of St. Albans for the past three years and a longtime resident of Swanton passed away February 24, 2017, at the VNA Respite House following a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. Leo was 90 years old.
He was born in Philipsburg Quebec on April 12, 1926 the son of the late Louis and Audrey (Percy) Hakey.
On November 1, 1945 Leo married Leona Helen Bean who predeceased him on June 15, 2010.
Leo Hakey was most proud of his service in the United States Army from March of 1945 to December 1947 and his service in the National Guard for more than 27 years and his son and grandchildren that served their country. Leo retired as an equipment mechanic from the former Union Carbide Corporation in St. Albans in 1989 after 41 years of service. Leo loved to spoil his grandchildren and great-grandchildren alike. His hobbies included annual summer camping around the state and visiting his friends for coffee. He will be remembered for his generous giving and help he gave to all.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra L. Larivee and her husband, Ronald of Enosburg Falls; two sons, Raymond L Hakey, Sr and his wife, Jeanne of Tucson, AZ; Gary G. Hakey and his wife Linda of Sahuarita, AZ; his grandchildren: Tamara Gagne and husband David of St. Albans, James Larivee and wife Jeannette of St. Albans, Shawn Larivee of Enosburg, Parmallee Hakey of Cary, NC, Raymond Hakey Jr and wife Jennifer of Honolulu, Hawaii, Michael Hakey and wife Natalie of Chandler, AZ, Jason Hakey and wife Penny of Highgate, Chad Larivee and wife Heather of St. Albans, Todd Larivee and Kayla Ryea of Enosburg; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-laws Lorraine Corbiere and Helen Bouchard, brother-in-law Donald Bean and several nieces and nephews. ....show , age 90, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Our Lady of the Meadows Community Care Home in Richford.
She was born in Sutton, Quebec on September 17, 1926 the daughter of the late William & Johannah (Nysen) Prentice.
Goldie married John Blaney on May 24, 1945. She worked as a seamstress for many years, volunteered as a driver for the Richford Ambulance and dedicated many years as a janitor at the Richford High School.
She enjoyed gardening, picking berries, and tending to her horses as well as sulky racing. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Goldie had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody.
She is survived by her children, Robert Blaney and his friend, Joanne of Sheldon, Richard Blaney and his wife Jean of College Station, TX, Randy Blaney and his wife Mary of Richford, John Blaney and his significant other, Deb of Berkshire, and Elizabeth Brown and her husband Ken of Richford; her grandchildren, Scott and his fianc Theresa, Adam and his wife Amanda, Cherami and her husband Ryan, Donna and her husband Bill, Stephanie, Dennis, Tom and his wife Alison, Kevin and his wife Casey, Jennifer and her significant other Josh, Nicholas, and Christopher; her great grandchildren, Mitchell, Courtney, Cyrus, Carissa, Crandall, Victoria, Bryant, Cameron, Mackenzie, Ryan, Victoria, Carter, Skyler, Zachary & Cassidy; her great great granddaughter, Addison; her sister-in-law, Marianne Blaney of Ontario; many nieces and nephews. He was born July 1, 1943 in Newport Center to the late Lawrence & Pearl (Eastman) Sanville.
Roger was a long haul trucker for many years. He loved being a hobby farmer and would often take his tractor to help friends by rototilling their gardens or brush hogging on their property. Above all, Roger enjoyed spending time with his family the most.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Sanville of Jay; 2 sons, Larry Sanville and his wife Marlene of Jay and Ron Sanville and his wife Aggie of Pulaski, TN; grandchildren, Jessica McAllister and her husband Kevin, Mandi Sanville, Courtney Sanville, Chris Burns and his wife Heather, Morgan Como and her husband Jeff and Katie Beemus and her husband Ryan; 2 siblings, Marion Brown and Burt Sanville and his wife Janice all of Marlboro, MA and several nieces & nephews. Roger was predeceased by his parents.

....show , age 92, passed away Monday morning, February 20, 2017 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans with her loving family at her side.
She was born February 27, 1924 in Franklin the daughter of the late Howard W. & Ernestine (Laroche) Bolio.
Gladys was a homemaker most of her life. She loved to make crafts, sew, knit, embroider, crochet, cook, garden, can the produce from the garden, wall paper & ride her bike. She also helped her husband with farm chores at the various farms he worked at in East Sheldon, Fairfield & Franklin. She enjoyed listening to music and was self-taught to play the guitar and to yodel. She also participated in a local band. She had a love for pets, especially cats. Gladys was always a caregiver and later in life she took a job doing just that at a local nursing home for a brief period. Most of all Gladys loved to spend time with her family and always looked forward to the weekly Sunday family gatherings.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Sangermano of Rindge, NH, Jeanne Harrod and her husband Douglas of Franklin, and David Couture of Alburgh; her daughter-in-law, Penny Couture of Milton; her grandchildren, Alan, Gary, Lori, twins - Connie & Candy, Dawn, Marcy, Darcy & Heather; her great grandchildren, Joshua, Sheila, Michael, Eric, Brittany, Megan, Tiffany, Taylor, Autumn, Garret, Amber, Kira, Brianna, Cale, Kane, Landon & Mack; her brother, Richard Bolio of Franklin; several nieces, nephews & cousins; and her beloved cat, Pinkie. MONTGOMERY CENTER - Gaston R. Begnoche
....show , age 81, passed away at his home Saturday morning, February 18, 2017 with his loving family at his side.
He was born October 8, 1935 in Swanton the son of the late Elise & Leoni (Vaillancourt) Begnoche.
Gaston was a lifelong farmer and in 1958 he and Therese purchased their farm and with his knowledge of bloodlines and insemination he turned a Jersey / Holstein farm into a thriving Registered Holstein business. In 1967 he was voted Vermont Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year. The demand for his cattle was extensive. He not only sold his cattle locally but internationally too, shipping as far as Japan & Brazil. Gaston retired from farming in 1997. Once the cows were gone he focused his attention to woodworking. With the help of Roger Chauvin he logged many different species of trees from the farm. Much of this timber he had sawed into usable wood that he turned into kitchen cabinets for his family with the help of Clem Rogers. Gaston served in the Vermont Army National Guard for 8 years receiving an honorable discharge in 1962 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion Post #42 of Enosburg Falls.
In more recent years you could find Gaston at Bernies with his coffee buddies discussing the topics of the day. His summers were spent taking care of his garden which included blueberry bushes and corn. He enjoyed talking and joking with his corn customers. Everyone was very sad when he had to stop selling corn in 2015. Although, no longer growing corn he continued with his garden and blueberries and enjoyed giving away any excess produce.
During baseball season you would find Gaston glued to the TV watching his Red Sox. He was a loyal fan to the end whether they won or lost. He also enjoyed hunting & fishing. He especially loved spending time at deer camp, planning hunting strategies and playing cards with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Therese (Landry) Begnoche of Montgomery Center; his children, Susan Paradis of Berkshire, Armand Begnoche and his wife Mikal of Bozeman, MT, and Marcel Begnoche of Highgate, his grandchildren, Abigail Paradis, Kylie Begnoche, Violet Begnoche & Hans Begnoche; his great grandson, William McMahon IV; his siblings, Pauline Shepard of Montpelier, Connie Turner and her husband Arnold of Westboro, MA, Carmen Scott and her husband Dean of Montgomery Center, and Leon Begnoche of Swanton; his sister-in-law, Cecile Demers and her husband Ralph of Jupiter, FL; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Gaston was predeceased by his mother & Father-in-law, Lucien & Alida Landry; son-in-law, Paul Paradis; and his brother-in-law, Armand Frenchy Landry.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Isidores Catholic Church, 169 Mountain Road, Montgomery Center with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will take place this spring in St. Isidores Cemetery.

Cassius Cash Maskell
....show , age 77 years, a lifelong Highgate Springs resident, died unexpectedly, February 14, 2017, while visiting family in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Born at home in Highgate Springs on, February 21, 1939, he was the son of the late Hobart and Angie (Partlow) Maskell. He attended Highgate High School and on, July 18, 1959, was married to the former Madeline Maddie Delude who predeceased him on, August 13, 2016.
Cash faithfully served his country in the United States Army in the mid 1950s and was a longtime member of the American Legion, Green Mountain Post 1 of Saint Albans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Charles DaPrato Post 778 in Swanton.
Cash spent most of his working life in construction and for a time owned and operated Maskell Fencing and Guardrail. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, the Boston Red Sox, spending time in his garage and especially spending time with his boys. He will always be remembered as a very loving and kind man who was always helping his neighbors and anyone in need. He was liked by everyone and will be greatly missed.
He leaves his four sons, Mark Zeb Maskell and his wife Tracie of Highgate Springs, Anthony Tony Maskell and girlfriend Ruth Gleason of Highgate Center, Greg Maskell and wife Gretchen of Saint Albans Bay and Shawn Maskell and friend Erin Lewis of Highgate Springs; grandchildren, Brandy, Meghen, Cody and wife Casey, Mark, Jr., Ryan and wife Brandi, Kyle, Tyler, Alex, Carson, Calypso, Levi and Ryan; five great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Frankie Maskell of Swanton and several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Bruce Grandchamp and wife Julie. He is also survived by his beloved canine companion Molly.
Besides his parents and his wife Maddie, Cash was predeceased by a son, Steven J. Maskell on November 16, 2008 and his siblings, Vincent Maskell, Hobart Maskell, Anna Green, Mattie Grandchamp and Sonny Maskell.

Normand Donald Gagne
....show , 84, died peacefully March 22nd from health complications. He was born in Highgate on July 27, 1932, the son of Lucien and Dolores (Betournay) Gagne. He attended and graduated from St. Anne\u0027s Academy in Swanton, class of 1951. He worked alongside his father on the farm until he purchased it in 1958 and continued to farm with his wife, Georgette, and son, Mark, until 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Georgette (Larose) Gagne, of 62 years and their six children: Mark (wife, Jean) Gagne; Daniel Gagne (and friend, Sue); Anne (husband, Leon) Berthiaume; Julie Gagne (and friend, Michael); Cecile (husband, Mark) Vosburg; Claudette (husband, Rick) Peck; twelve grandchildren: Eddie Gagne (and friend, Samantha); Mary Gagne (and friend, Marcus); Carly and Katie Gagne; Nicholas Gagne; Jessica (husband, Jason) Brill; Alyssa (husband, Aaron) Ciullo; Jameson (wife, Shauyne) Berthiaume; Sara and Emily Vosburg; Evan and Jordan Peck; three great grandchildren: Owen and Ethan Brill and Kilian Ciullo; and also by many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by Roger and Adrienne Gagne, Rosaire and Henriette Gagne, and Olivette and Alcide LaBrie.
Normands greatest passions were flying his own plane and attending many fly-ins. He was proud to wave his wings over the farm. He was credited with starting the Highgate hockey youth program in the 1960s and was also known as the Father of Missisquoi Hockey, having coached the T-Birds from 1971-73 and 79-82 and later coached the Highgate North Stars. For many years, Normand and Georgette hosted Franco-American soirees with family, neighbors, and friends which Normand loved. Normand was a die-hard New York Yankees and Boston Bruins fan. He also enjoyed deer hunting with his sons, fishing with his cousins, watching Mary, Carly, and Katie play high school softball, traveling to historical landmarks, and trips twice to Alaska.
The family would like to thank the staff at Northwest Medical Center and the Pillsbury Homestead for their excellent care, patience, support and the Hospice Program through the Franklin County Home Health Agency who saw to his comfort in his final days.
The Liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, March 27, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. from St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, 186 Lamkin Street in Highgate Center. Father Luke P. Austin will be celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family lot in St. Louis Cemetery.

Maurice Joseph Rainville
....show , age 101 years, died peacefully at his Swanton home on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Highgate on July 15, 1915, he was the son of the late Theophile Jr, and Imelda (Boucher) Rainville. He attended schools in Highgate and Canada and on May 22, 1943, was married to the former Lucile Fleurange Boudreau who predeceased him on March 31, 1991.
A lifelong dairy farmer, Maurice had served several years on the Board of Directors for the St. Albans Cooperative Creamery. He was devoted to his Roman Catholic faith and was a faithful parishioner of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Usher. He was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Council 7669 and Assembly 2207 in Swanton. He also spent several years as a selectman for the Town of Swanton.
Maurice leaves two sons: Father Marcel R. Rainville, SSE , St. Michaels College, Colchester and Marc E. Rainville of Swanton; nine daughters and their spouses: Sr. Yvette Rainville DHS of Burlington, Lise and Paul Nichols of Enosburgh Falls, Claire and Lynn Raymond of St. Albans, Marie Paule and Peter Winner of Laconia, NH, Jeanne and David Murphy of Voorhees, NJ, Rolande and Kevin Morrison of Leicester, Lucie and Brad Collette of Wheelock, Jacqueline and Scott Bacon of Ledyard, CT and Pauline and Robert Carbonneau of Nashua, NH; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Sr. Frances Boudreau SSJ of Buffalo, NY, Solange Rainville of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec Canada, Elaine Boudreau of Burlington and Jacqueline Boudreau of Swanton; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

RICHFORD - Camille O. Girard
....show , age 92, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 at the VNA Respite House in Colchester.
He was born April 15, 1924 in Lincoln, RI to the late Ovide & Meline (Viens) Girard.
Camille worked at Blue Seal Feeds in Richford for 45 years. He retired in 1978.
He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Estelle (Gendron) Girard. Camille and Estelle were married on September 9, 1966. He also leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Suzie Stephens of Richford; 2 grandchildren, Patrick Stephens and his wife Christina of Webster, NY and Dylan Stephens and his wife Courtney of Richford and a great grandson, Andrew Stephens. Camilles Canadian relatives include a brother, Andre Girard and his wife Yvette of Granby Quebec, 2 grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, Camille was predeceased by his sons, Larry & Paul and a brother, Hector.
In keeping with Camilles wishes, his body will be cremated and there will be no public service or visitation. His remains will be scattered at the convenience of his family.

ENOSBURG FALLS - Howard R. Deuso
....show , age 97, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at his home in Enosburg Falls.
He was born February 1, 1920 in Montgomery to the late James & Marion (Lefebvre) Deuso.
Howard grew up and went to school in Montgomery; it was his job to go start the fire at the school house, which was known as The Belfry, each morning before school. He served in the military during World War II and after receiving his honorable discharge in 1946 he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Rushlow on October 25, 1947. Howard started his working years as a woodworker, he worked for H.B Jones and then went on to start his own woodworking business. Later in life he went to work for A.B. Brown and started learning the trade of appliance repair; he again went on to start his own business in the early 1970s, Deusos Appliance Repair. He was a member and former Chief of the Enosburg Falls Volunteer Fire Department, serving for nearly 25 years. Howard was also a member of the American Legion Post #42 in Enosburg Falls for over 50 years. His favorite hobbies included woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time at the cottage on Fairfield Pond.
He is survived by his children, William Deuso and his wife Susan of Enosburg Falls, Dennis Deuso and his wife Susie of Montgomery Center, James Deuso and his wife Sally of Enosburg Falls and Cindy Churchill and her husband Roddy of Sheldon; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Deuso and his wife Charlotte of Springfield, MA; a sister, Marie Latimer of Enosburg Falls and several nieces& nephews. Besides his parents, Howard was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth (Rushlow) Deuso; his grandchildren, Erika Deuso, Dustin Churchill and Rene Longley and his siblings, Romeo, Charles & Louis Deuso and Doris Desjardins, Ida Godin, Annette Larocque, Lucille Meunier and Rosanna Brunton.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will be held this spring in St. Isidores Cemetery in Montgomery Center.
Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the hour of the funeral.

....show , age 58, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 16, 2017 at his home in Enosburgh.
He was born October 1, 1958, in St. Albans, Vermont to Millie (Bessette) Mott and the late Abraham Tatro.
Leon graduated from BFA, St. Albans in 1976. He then served in the Military for 8 years. He also tried his hands at many other occupations such as; mechanic, cook, truck driver, and construction worker. On May 1, 2004, he and his beloved wife Sherry (Morse) entered into a life-long journey of marriage. Together they enjoyed fishing, bowling, long drives, gambling, spending quality time with family, and the simplicity and peacefulness of nature.
Family was a great source of happiness for Leon. He loved and loved BIG. He was a true family man; dedicated, honorable, and always putting the needs of his family before his own. You would frequently find that his hands were often busy ranging from home improvement and car mechanic projects to hunting and gun refurbishing. Leon had an extraordinary warmth about him that couldnt be denied. His honesty and integrity were felt from the moment of your first encounter.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Tatro and their son Landon of Enosburgh; his children, Leon Tatro, Jr. and his wife Crystal of Swanton, Louis Tatro, Sr., and his wife Brandy of Enosburgh, and Angelina Tatro of Sheldon and many grandchildren; his mother, Millie Mott and her husband Francis of St. Albans; a brother, Abe Tatro of Franklin; a sister, Pauline Ungewitter of St. Albans, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Leon was predeceased by two elder brothers and one sister.

SHELDON - Richard Popeye Ovitt
....show , age 82, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 with his family by his side.
He was born March 14, 1934 in Sheldon to the late Eugene & Dorothy (Stockwell) Ovitt.
Popeye served in the U.S. Navy and the Air Force. After receiving his honorable discharge in 1960, he worked in the mines of Washington before he returned to Sheldon. Popeye spent most of his life working at the paper mill in Sheldon, he retired in 1994 after 34 years with the company. He also co-owned a hobby farm with his good friend, the late Howard Ward, where they raised cows and pigs, did some logging and cut fire wood.
He loved having large vegetable gardens and for many years he would grow corn to sell and have his granddaughters collect the money. Spring time was one of Popeyes favorite, he looked forward to sugaring with his neighbor and good friend, Danny Danyow. Popeye was a long-time member of the American Legion Post #88 in Sheldon Springs. He was also an avid sportsmen and would frequently go on hunting and fishing trips.
Popeye is survived by his step-children, Brian & Cathy Danyow of Sheldon, Steven & Judy Danyow of Franklin and Karen & Richard Sweet of Sheldon; his grandchildren and their families, Shirley Lunna and her husband Deric and their children, Isaac, Isaiah, Callia, Bonni & Quentin, Sara Rutanhira and her boyfriend Nick Samson and their children, Nyasha, Storm & Echo, Jed Danyow and his fianc Amanda King and their children, Adelynn & Cadence, Amanda Hart and her children, Theresa, Erika & Charles, Jessie Danyow and his wife Arielle and their children, Devyen & Brittany, Luke Danyow and his significant other Leah Gagne and their children, Brian, Timothy & Emily, Otis Danyow and his daughter Breanna, John Danyow and Renee Danyow; his brother, Wesley Ovitt and his wife Maxine of Sheldon; his sister, Shirley King and her partner Mary Frye of North Carolina; several nieces & nephews and his beloved dog, Midget. Besides his parents, Popeye was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Tatro) Ovitt and his siblings, Everett Buster Ovitt, Hazel Tourangeau, Alice Peters and Fred Ovitt.

....show , age 90 years, passed away late Sunday evening, March 12, 2017, in the Northwestern Medical Center following a major heart attack.
Born in Highgate on, March 7, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Bertha Bard. Ruth graduated from the former Highgate High School and in 1945 was married to Joseph Jake Vincelette. They were married for 24 years and had four children together.
Ruths favorite hobbies included playing Bingo every Monday and Friday nights regardless of the weather and babysitting her grand and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her brother, Walter Bard and his wife Victoria of Swanton; her daughter, Jane Scanlon of St. Albans; her daughter, Tabitha and Tyler Scanlon, Koran Scanlon and Emma Lemoine all of St. Albans; Ruths grandson, Wayne Shedrick and his wife, Penny of Swanton, their children, Adam, his wife Kellsie Shedrick of St. Albans, Alex Shedrick of Swanton, Mitchals Shedrick and his girlfriend Audie and Mitchals children, Mitchie, Brennon and Landyn Shedrick all of Swanton, Matthew and Mark Vincelette, Darcy Willard of North Carolina, Robert Dew Menard of Florida, Conrad Menard of Texas and Thomas Menard of South Carolina as well as many great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Henri Oscar Tringle Jr.
....show , 70 of Melbourne, FL., passed away at home March 11, 2017. He was born May 20, 1946 in Farhnam, Quebec, Canada to Henri Tringle Sr. and Janet Corey.
Henri graduated from Richford High School in 1964 and moved to Connecticut right after graduating. He took machining courses in Connecticut. He returned to Vermont in 1968 to help his father on the farm. After being injured in a serious accident on the farm Henri gave up farming and went back to work as a machinist in 1975 at Space Research Corporation in Highwater, Quebec. He went on to earn a diploma in CNC Programming from the University of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.
Henri started his career as a machinist and went on to become a plant manager and retired in 2008 as a freelance engineering consultant. He lived his dream by traveling around the world and spent time working in Brussels, Spain, Amsterdam, Italy and China. He had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest and did it his way. He loved the life that he made for himself in Florida and thoroughly enjoyed entertaining family when they came to visit. He loved spending time with his family and is proud of the legacy he had left behind.
Henri is survived by his wife, Roberta Lessard whom he married in 1982. His children, Marlene (Bruce) Mercy, Henri Tringle III and his fiance Ann Rourke, Michelle and Nicole Tringle. Grandchildren, Cody and Kyle (Ashley) Mercy, Henri Tringle IV, Luciano Rourke and Scarlett Tringle and Evan and Avery Paradis. His siblings, Richard Tringle, Roseanna Coffy and Kelly Tringle.
A memorial service will be Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., VT with Fr. Karl Hahr officiating. Interment will be this summer in Hillside Cemetery in Richford.

She was born December 15, 1934 in East Charleston, VT to the late Kenneth & Lois (Hinton) Ramsdell.
Addie married Francis Couture on May 23, 1953. They farmed side-by-side for many years as they raised 5 children. Addie was a caregiver in every sense of the word; she cared for her mother and mother-in-law and worked at Verdelle Village for several years. Her hobbies included playing cards and cribbage, listening to music and dancing. Addie also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Wilfred Fred A. Couture and Stacy of Oklahoma, Kenneth Kenny M. Couture Sr. and Lisa of Westford, Rose Donna and Daniel Danny Sr. of Montgomery, Paul J. Couture and Kasi of Oklahoma, and Mary Jane Wetherby and John of Richford; 21 grandchildren, Autumn, Aaron, Lilly, Jamie, Tonya, Tammy, Kenneth Jr., Keith, Jessica, Jennifer, Daniel Jr., Cindy, Jason, Teri, Stephan, Tori, Meagan, Ty, Bryce, Courtney and Shelby; 29 great grandchildren; her brother, David Ramsdell of Kingston, NY and several nieces & nephews. EAST FAIRFIELD - Lucille Jean Bryce
....show , age 92, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 surrounded by her family at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
Jean was born October 15, 1924 in East Fairfield to the late Hugh & Hazel (Nolin) McLaren.
She attended school in East Fairfield for 8 years and then graduated from Brigham Academy in Bakersfield in 1942. Jean married Robert Bryce on March 13, 1944 and they had 4 children together. When they first got married they operated a dairy farm; Jean would milk in the mornings and evenings, pitch the hay, boil the sap and take care of her children and mother-in-law. Jean had a tremendous work ethic and when they moved off the farm in 1954, she began working at several different businesses in the area including, Roberts Store, Dr. Hoopers Office, Fonda and for 25 years at Union Carbide.
Jean was active in the community and she was instrumental in forming the East Fairfield Womens Auxiliary in 1973. She was also an auxiliary member of V.F.W. Robert E. Glidden Post 78 in St. Albans. In Jeans spare time she enjoyed playing Bingo, going to card parties, making quilts and afghans for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Carol Clokey of Montgomery, Judy Bryce of East Fairfield, Marcia Ladue and her husband Joseph Sr. of St. Albans and John Bryce and his significant other Kim Haley of Derby; 6 grandchildren, Stacy Maynard and her husband Willie of Bakersfield, Pamela Brooks of Parkville, MD, Joe Ladue Jr. of St. Albans, Shawn Ladue and his wife Joanna of Milton, Ericka Luneau and her husband Brent of Flower Mound, TX, Jason Bryce and his significant other Judy Wetherby of Richford and Ellie Conger of Swanton; 16 great grandchildren; her sister, Helen Marshia and her husband Raymond of East Fairfield and several nieces & nephews. Anna Cota
....show , Age 94 passed away Sunday night April 9, 2017 in Giordano Manor in Swanton. On August 7, 1943 she was married to Leo F. Cota who pre-deceased her on January 16, 2013.
Anna was born in St. Albans on November 13, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Phillippe Viens and Amanda (Loiselle) Viens. She was a member of Ladies of St. Anne in Swanton. She volunteered many years at Mary S. Babcock & Swanton Central Schools. She enjoyed gardening and was well known for her hillside gardens along the Missisquoi River bank in front of her home, bicycling and traveling. She would travel many miles on her three wheel trike often with her grandchildren in the basket on the back. Anna spent many hours quilting and loved crafting. She was devoted to her loving family and cherished her time with them.
She is survived by four sons and their wives; Ronald & Fern Cota, Frederick & Bennye, Bernard and Ann Cota, Dennis and Sherry, one daughter, Mary Rusnak & husband George, one brother, Joseph & his wife Jean Viens, two sisters, Irene Brosseau and Sister Bertha Viens and two sister-in-laws, Clair & Therese Viens, daughter-in-law, Alice Susan Cota. She was also survived by 22 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she is pre-deceased by her children: Linda Arsenault, Alice Merchant and Roger Cota, siblings, Raymond, Paul, Roland & his wife Rita, Lucien & his wife Margaret, Rita & her husband Henry Beaulieu. Also pre-deceased by seven siblings, at a very early age, as well as grandchildren: Susan Rusnak, Jeremy Poissant and Shane Cota and one great granddaughter, Abbey Szubryck.
The family would like to thank the Staff at Giordano Manor for their loving care and compassion over the last seven years.

EAST BERKSHIRE - Larry Guy Larivee
....show , age 71, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at the VNA Respite House in Colchester. Larry lived with multiple myeloma for three years, fighting the cancer until the very end.
Larry was born February 24, 1946 in St. Albans to Guy and Elaine (Mayo) Larivee. Larry graduated from Enosburg Falls High School in 1964 and worked many jobs in his life. Most notably, Larry served as the superintendent of Enosburg Falls Country Club for nearly twenty-five years and was instrumental in its evolution from a small nine-hole course to an eighteen hole country club. Larry also ran Larrys Golf Car Service for twenty years.
When he wasn\u0027t working, Larry enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, riding his Harley, and spending time with his family. His grandchildren will fondly remember the annual pumpkin-carving celebrations at Larry\u0027s house.
Larry was also very active in the Enosburg Falls Lions Club. He served nearly every office and earned several honors, including Vermont Lion of the Year in 1995 and a Melvin Jones Fellowship in 2000. For many years he has been a fixture at the Vermont Dairy Festival, running the fried dough booth since 1995.
Larry is survived by his wife, Mary; his mother; Elaine, and his siblings and their spouses: Ronald and Sandy Larivee of Enosburg; Lynette and Mark Vaillancourt of Enosburg; Sally and Richard Delorme of Orlando, FL; Randall and Connie Larivee of Greenwich, NY; Patty and Warren Whitney of St. Albans; and Diane and Greg Bigby of Reno, NV; his brother-in-law Jon Vest and wife Rhonda of Omaha, NE; and sister-in-law Linda Donna of Sheldon.
Larry is also survived by his children and their spouses: Jeff and Karen Larivee of Stoneham, MA; Jodi Larivee and her companion Shannon of Methuen, MA; Jason and Lara Robtoy of Enosburg; Amy Eldridge of Swanton; Adam and Mary Robtoy of Barre; Tina and Joshua Bell of Winter Haven, FL; and Jessica and Peter Andrews of Georgia.
Larry was much loved by his grandchildren: Becca, Shauna, Kiera, Gianna, Joey, Emily, Kyle, Ryan, Nathaniel, Lillian, Annalise, Colleen, Sydni, Garrett, Kellen, Elliot, Kendall, Julia, Chelsea, Grant, Ryder, Remi, and his great-grandaughter Addi.
Larry was pre-deceased by his father, Guy Arthur Larivee; his in-laws, Harold and Gloria Vest; and his brother-in-law, James Vest.

He was born January 17, 1975 in Middlesex, CT to Harold Durgan and the late Pearl (Barnes) Durgan.
Norman is survived by his children, Emily Barnes, Kyle Cota and Alan Durgan; his father, Harold Durgan; his siblings, Edith Basler and her husband Wess, Michelle Durgan and her significant other Jason Mellnitz and Harold Durgan and his wife Tonya and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Norman was predeceased by his mother.

Sheila Daria Kittell
....show , age 88, passed away Wednesday evening, April 5, 2017 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans with her loving family by her side.
Born in Georgetown, British Guiana September 7, 1928. The daughter of the late Joseph Clement DeAbreu and Matilda (Ferreira) DeAbreu.
A former British subject of Portuguese descent and proud naturalized US citizen, as a very young woman Sheila left her home in the tropics to make a new life with an American airman, the love of her life and native Vermonter, Everett C. Kittell. They settled in Swanton, initially working side-by-side to launch what became Kittells Market, a grocery store and fixture in the community for over 40 years. Everett then tended the store and Sheila the family home on Spring Street. While living there, they welcomed and raised six children, sending them all to St. Annes School, reputable colleges, and then nationwide to equally happy lives. From her first days in Swanton, Sheila invested herself in the community. Active in the Parish of the Nativity, Sheila developed a large circle of friends among the clergy and her fellow parishioners. But it was after her youngest child became self-sufficient that Sheila invested her considerable energy in earning an Associates degree in Education, joining the staff at then Swanton Elementary School. As a para professional and lifelong learner, Sheila continued taking courses at UVM and attending numerous educational seminars and conferences, becoming and remaining the go-to teacher for students needing extra help to succeed. Many did succeed, thanks to Sheilas efforts working and volunteering at the school. It was there that Sheila found her true calling and many of her closest friends, always putting her students interests first.
Sheila is survived by her six children; Gary Kittell and his wife Elisabeth, Deborah Silber and husband Fred, Andrew Kittell and wife Patricia McNally, Michael Kittell, Stephen Kittell and wife Erin, Mary Kittell and husband Tony Taylor. In addition to her parents; Sheila was predeceased by her husband Everett in 2009, and 10 siblings living in either Canada or British Guiana at the time of their passing.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, in Swanton. Father Luke P. Austin will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Kittell family lot in Saint Marys Roman Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening May 19th from 4 to 7 p.m.

....show , age 66 years, died Monday evening, April 3, 2017 in the Northwestern Medical Center in St Albans with his loving family by his side.
Bob was born December 20, 1950 in Alburgh, VT. He was the son of the late Robert Arlie Creller, Sr. and Beverly (Prime) Creller. He attended school in Alburgh and graduated from Alburgh High School in the class of 1969. He was a longtime member of the Alburgh Select board, Alburgh School Board, Ducks Unlimited, NRA, Alburgh Center Cemetery Commission. He coached basketball for many years. Bob owned and operated The Boatsmith in Alburgh that sold, serviced and installed boats and docks throughout the area.
He is survived by 2 sons; Trevor Creller and his wife Renee of Alburgh and Robert Creller III also of Alburgh, a stepson Michael Kellem of St Petersburg, FL.
One daughter; Amber Creller of South Windsor, CT; 6 brothers; James Creller of Alburgh, Shawn Creller & wife Jill of Alburgh, Gene Creller & companion Lynn of Alburgh, Dana Creller & wife Teri of Sheldon, Beau Creller & wife Roxanne of Alburgh.
His sisters Donna & husband Jean Paul LaRocque of Rouses Point, NY. Beverlee Poquette & husband Joe of North Hero, Kathleen Cheney of Swanton and Beth Dutton & companion Alan Brown of Alburgh; sister and brother-in-law; Joan & Ray Boire of Tolland, CT. Grandchildren; Ethan, Brady, Alexa and Maya.
He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Diane, brother; Jon Creller and brother-in-law Marcus Cheney.
