ENOSBURGH – Norman L. Ikey Thompson

, age 72, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on Monday, June 15, 2015 at his home in Enosburgh.
He was born January 13, 1943 in Enosburgh to the late James & Marion (Wetherby) Thompson.
Ikey served 13 months in Vietnam and he was very proud of his service there. After returning home he met Linda Morse and they were married in December of 1968. Ikey spent time working as a farmer, carpenter and mason, but spent most of his career in concrete construction and even owned his own business for a period of time. He considered himself a jack of all trades - but master of none . His favorite hobby was junking which consisted of collecting, buying and selling junk metal, cars and tractors.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Linda Thompson of Enosburgh; 2 special and loving daughters, Jodi Thompson and her significant other, Paul Stanhope of North Troy and Kelly Thompson and her significant other, John Nutting of Richford; his grandchildren, Jamie, Janessa, Macie & Zack; 1 great grandchild, Julian; a sister, Patricia Parker of Plattsburgh; a sister-in-law, Kimberly Morse of Powder Springs, GA; 2 brothers-in-law, Chauncey D. Morse of Manchester, VT and Jeffrey Morse of Richford; several nieces & nephews and many close friends including Jim, Jake, Terry, Donna, Adrianne & Gary. Besides his parents, Ikey was predeceased by his siblings, Roger Thompson, Bobby Thompson and his wife Winnie and Shirley Nutting and her husband Herb and a nephew, Rusty Thompson.
Ikey will be greatly missed by his family, but they take comfort in knowing he will be reunited with good friends Frank Meunier and Bob Stanhope.
A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Richford Center Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the St. Albans Health & Rehab facility.
He was born March 8, 1929 in Borslaw, Ukraine to the late Nicholas & Anna Kardasz.
At the age of 15 Jerry was taken from his home in Ukraine and brought to work in the camps in Germany. At the age of 18 he came to the United States, became a citizen and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the military he worked in the construction field as a dry wall installer. Jerry married Caroline Healy in 1971 and they made their home in East Fairfield. His favorite hobby was gardening.
He is survived by his daughter, Katherine Young and her husband Jason of Enosburgh; his son, Ihor W. Kardasz and his wife Debra of Stroudsburg, PA; a step-daughter, Carolann Decker and her husband Tom of Virginia Beach, VA and a step-son, Joey Toth of Joliet, IL; several grandchildren, Courtney Kardasz-Church, Jerron Reynolds, Kaleb St. Cyr and Cayden & Jake Young. Besides his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his wife, Caroline (Healy) Kardasz in 2002.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Fr. William Giroux officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patricks Cemetery in Fairfield.
A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.

, age 76, passed away Sunday evening June 7, 20015 at the Redstone Villa Nursing Home in St. Albans.
He was born November 19, 1938 in Landaff, NH the son of the late Christe & Hazel (Chase) Stimpson
Roger was a graduate of Enosburg Falls High School and a long-time resident of West Enosburgh. He was employed with the Vermont Highway Department for 28 years retiring in 1995. He also worked part-time as a truck driver for McDermotts Transportation in Enosburg Falls. He served in the Vermont Army National Guard from 1960 -63.
Roger enjoyed bowling, cutting wood and doing his yard work. Most of all he loved to spend time at his camp on Lake Carmi with Carolyn.
He is survived by his sons, Steven Stimpson of West Enosburg, his partner Holly Hiscock and their son Jeffrey of Chateaugay, NY, Christopher Stimpson, his wife Gisele and their daughter Morgan of Enosburg; his step-sister, Carolyn Allain and her husband Raymond of St. Albans; and his step-brother, Albert Tatro of Franklin; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn (Savage) Stimpson; his son Daniel Stimpson; his brother, Homer Rocky Stimpson; and his foster parents, Robert & Irene Deming.
Funeral services was held Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment followed in the West Enosburg Cemetery.
A time of visitation was held at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.

BAKERSFIELD – Dwight Ike Snide

, age 61, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Vermont Respite House in Williston after a valiant struggle with cancer. From the beginning of Ikes diagnosis he never gave up hope that he would beat cancer.
He was born November 21, 1953 in St. Albans the son of Rachel (Patterson) Snide and the late Raymond N. Snide.
Ike grew up in Bakersfield and was a graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and received his honorable discharge. For the past 4 years he worked as a mechanic for Richard Green Trucking in Enosburg Falls.
Ike felt the most freedom when he was riding a Harley. He always enjoyed telling stories about his adventures and rides with friends.
He is survived by his mother, Rachel Snide of West Enosburgh; his sons, Adam Snide of Memphis, TN and Ben Snide and his girlfriend Maria of Montgomery Ctr.; his grandchildren, Jacob & Hailey Snide; his brothers, Chris Snide of Corbett, OR, Tony Snide and his partner Sue Shappy of Georgia, VT, and Lee Snide and his wife Bunny of West Enosburg; the mother of his children and caregiver, Donna Cross Greco of Burlington; several nieces and nephews; and many friends from the East coast to the West coast including special friends who were very helpful during Ikes illness, Dale, Danny & Debbie, Hog, Jeff P., Maria, Rooty & Peg, Dee and especially Sue & Jeff B. for the time they devoted to Ikes care. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond Snide; and his brother-in-law, Sonny Cross.
Ikes family extends a heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff, physicians and oncology team on Shepherdson for the loving and respectful care provided to Ike during his illness. They would also like to thank the staff at the Vermont Respite House for the comfort given to Ike during his brief stay there. Ike was very thankful for the all of the special and simplest gestures that were given to him.
In keeping with Ikes wishes he was cremated and family and friends were invited to gather and take part in a Asatru Funeral Service on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 7:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.

, age 98, passed away Friday evening, May 29, 2015 at the Franklin County Rehab Center in St. Albans with her family at her side.
She was born in Abbotts Corners, Quebec Canada on November 25, 1916 the daughter of the late Howard & Mabel (Tracy) Goodhue.
Nellie was a resident of Berkshire most of her life and a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in East Berkshire where she was very active teaching Sunday School and hosting Bible Studies. She was also a member if the Berkshire Historical Society. Nellie enjoyed fishing, gardening, and wood working. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel.
She is survived by her children, Dorothy Lamoureux and her husband Paul of Berkshire, James Hoadley and his wife Alice of Vineland, NJ, and Patrick Hoadley and his wife Martha of East Bekrshire; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Nellie was predeceased by her husband Donald Hoadley; brothers, Claire & Lawrence Goodhue; and sisters, Lois Goodhue & Irene McGrath.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment followed in the East Berkshire Congregation Cemetery.

, Robert was a 1965 graduate of Richford High School. Upon graduating from High School, Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam with the Dagger Brigade 1st Infantry Division and received his honorable discharge in 1968 with the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 14 of Vergennes and a life member of the NRA.
Robert was employed at Goodrich in Vergennes for 26 years retiring in 1994. He then worked for the Addison Solid Waste District for 5 years retiring in 2004. He enjoyed researching genealogy and as a young man enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his brother, Roger L. Brouillette of Vergennes; his daughter, Jennifer Brouillette and her daughter Gillian Alexis Lavigne of Burlington; his aunt, Sylvia Brouillette of West Enosburgh; and several cousins. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by and infant child, and an infant sibling.
In keeping with Roberts wishes he was cremated and a memorial service was held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment with military honors followed in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg Falls. There were no visiting hours.

FRANKLIN – Wendell E. Barney Tillotson

, age 91, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at his home in the Franklin Homestead.
He was born June 12, 1923 in Sheldon the son of the late, Harry & Sylvia (Taylor) Tillotson.
Barney graduated from Brigham Academy and entered the U.S. Navy in 1943 serving during WWII receiving his honorable discharge March 16, 1946. Barney worked as a mechanic and car salesman for Frank Wood (Champlain Chevy) and Paquin Motors and owned and operated Mid-Town Mobil in Enosburg Falls before becoming an Insurance Agent for Prudential Insurance. He had been a member of the Prudential Millionaires Club retiring from Prudential on June 1, 1982.
Barney was one of the founding members of the Enosburg Falls Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, snowmobiling and in his younger years Dirt Track Racing. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 42 of Enosburg Falls, a former member of the Enosburg Falls Lions Club and attended the Franklin United Church.
He is survived by his children, Janet Machia and her husband Bernard of Bakersfield, Lee Tillotson and his wife Susan of Bakersfield, and Kathy Bokori and her husband Tom of Scottsville, KY; 5 grandchildren, Leif Tillotson and his son Andrew, Courtney Tillotson his wife Sara and their children, Jarrett & Avery, Jeremy Tillotson and his daughter, Ruby, Shaun Machia his friend Emily Trombley and his children, Marisa & Rowen, and Jackie Daviau her husband Steve and their son Isaac; his sisters, Marjorie Rich of West Lebanon, NH, and Freida Perry and her husband Arnold of Milton; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Barney was predeceased by his wife, Martha (Phelps) Tillotson on July 18, 2008. Barney & Martha were married August 25, 1944. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Claudia Tillotson; and his granddaughter, Megan Fitzgerald.
A memorial service was held Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Franklin United Church, 5414 Main Street, Franklin, with Rev. Jason McConnell officiating. Interment followed in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Bakersfield.

, 72, passed away Monday evening at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford after a brief, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Burlington on March 4, 1943 to the late Avis Hayden and Aldoree Gaudette.
After raising her 3 daughters and caring for her husband, Harold after his stroke, she began a long career as a nurses aide, dedicated to caring for others. She worked many years at area nursing homes before finding a passion for long term live-in care, which is how she spent much of her later life. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and playing cards with family and friends. She had fond memories of childhood, growing up in Fairfax, exploring farmlands with green grassy knolls and apple trees, and seeing wildlife in its natural environment. She loved animals, with a special interest in horses.
Roberta is survived by her daughters, Faith Cassidy and her husband Mike, April Hatterick and her husband Tracy, and Robin Blouin, 12 grandchildren; Samantha Willey and her husband Luke, Tiffany Jones and her husband Jeremy Machia, Tara Jones and her significant other Nate Shepard, Jessica Hooper and her husband Jason, Melissa Gagnon and her husband Andy, Tiffany, Trica, and Tim Cassidy, Katie Hatterick, Dustin, Leah, and Kyle Blouin, 12 great grandchildren; Jacob, Julia, Makayla, Nathan, Ayden, Karter, Nataleigh, Conner, Tyler, Kellan, Lyra, and Lily, siblings; Pale-Moon Winslow, Teki Cass, Running-Deer Bessette, Hazel Ouellette, and Noreen Robinson, and her dear friends Gloria Sweet, Annie Button, Grace Martin, and Joann Young.
Roberta was predeceased by her husband, Harold Parry and her sister, Bessie Wilcox.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the thoughtful staff at Franklin County Home Health and Our Lady of the Meadows for the exceptional care and compassion Roberta received. In her own words, she was treated like a queen .

, age 71, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born on September 23, 1943 in Cambridge, VT, the son of Eugene and Susie (LaPlant) Bushey. He worked at Rock-Tenn in Sheldon from July 1966 to October 2008, retiring after 42 years of dedicated service.
Bob was a family man, great father and friend to all who knew him. He especially enjoyed cars and racing.
Surviving are 2 sons Robert Bushey, Jr. of Berkshire and Brian Bushey and his partner Jennifer Pelston of Sheldon; 3 daughters Lori Bushey and her partner Scott Lucier of Swanton, Kimberly Bushey and her partner William Clark of Swanton and Amy Farnham of Sheldon; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; a brother Raymond Bushey of Sheldon and a sister Rita LEsperance and her husband Jerry of St. Albans.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his former wife Sandra Mosier; 2 brothers, Louis and Joseph Bushey and 2 sisters Lillian Lapan and Laura Taylor.

POULTNEY – Norman C. Greenwood

, age 84, passed away Wednesday morning May 13, 2015 at the Rutland Regional Medical Center.
He was born January 25, 1931 in Sheldon the son of the late Claude & Maude (Griggs) Greenwood.
Norman was a 1950 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. On June 28, 1951 he married Mary Pudvah and they moved to Connecticut in 1952 returning to Vermont in 1996. He was the Head Custodian at the Glastonbury Public School in Glastonbury, CT retiring in 1996.
Norman enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother and cousin. Initially a NY Yankee fan, he later became a follower of the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed traveling and going to Maine at least once a year. He raised New Zealand Reds and won numerous awards. His English Springer Spaniels and cars were the pride of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Greenwood of Poultney; his son, Michael Greenwood of Middlebury; his daughter, Brenda Zajicek and her husband Mark of Poultney; his grandchildren, Nicole Cary and her fianc Dave Del Bianco of Rutland, Diana Parker and her husband Bruce of Whitehall, NY; his great grandchildren, Wesley , Alexa , Bryson, Kadence and Kaleb; his sister, Ruby Russell of Danvers, MA; his brother, James DeGrenier and his wife Louise of West Swanzey, NH; and his sister, June Woodland of Athol, MA; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Claude Greenwood and his mother, Maude (Griggs) DeGrenier.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Montgomery Village Cemetery, Route 118, Montgomery. There will be no visiting hours.

, age 83, entered her eternal life on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the St. Albans Health & Rehab Facility.
She was born on May 22, 1931 in Berkshire Center to the late Alfred & Edourdina (Paquette) Belanger.
Theresa was a resident of Berkshire for most of her life. She married Maurice Roy on October 22, 1949 and together they raised 3 children. In Theresas younger years she worked hard to take care of everyone; she made sure her children never went without and also helped Maurice run the construction business. She also enjoyed square dancing, crafting, bowling for the Dairy Center Lassies and crocheting. She was also a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Theresa suffered a stroke early in life, but her spunk allowed her to continue a fulfilling life. Although she was limited physically, she enjoyed listening to country western music, feeding the birds and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Rachel Roy of East Berkshire and Andre Roy and his wife Becky of Westford; her grandchildren, Rita & EJ Mead of Georgia, Anais Roy of Portland, ME and Patrick & Xander Roy of Westford; brothers, Raymond Belanger and his wife Kathleen of Pensacola, FL, Lucien Belanger and his wife Beverly of Sutton, VT, Emile Belanger of Berkshire and Roland Belanger and his wife Mary Ange of Washington Depot, CT and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Maurice Roy and her son, George Roy.

, age 70, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
She was born on October 7, 1944 in Montgomery to the late E. Grant & Attrude (Domina) Kidder.
Andrea spent most of her life traveling around the United States; she lived in several states including Vermont, Florida and California. She came to Richford to take care of her parents and ended up staying. She was very proud of the fact that she could keep her parents home in the family. Andrea was a member of the Troy American Legion Post #28 Auxiliary and her hobbies included bowling, cooking and listening to music, especially Irish Country. Her greatest joy was her family; she loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her children, Jim Hoy and his wife Shirley of Northport, FL, Rick Hoy and his wife Julie of Richford, Chris Hoy and his wife Elaine of Mooresville, IN and Theresa Gardner of Palmetto, FL; 7 grandchildren, Christina, Kayla, Caleb, Shane, Ricky and Charlotte Lee Hoy and Shelby Gardener; 5 great grandchildren, Austin, Landon, Makenzie, Jacqueline and Autumn; her siblings, Douglas Kidder and his wife Jane of Richford, James Kidder and his wife Shirley of Bay City, WA and Georganna Anderson of Richford; siblings-in-law, Linda Kidder of Seaside, OR and Cathy & Eugene Pyndess of Richford and several nieces & nephews. , age 97, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Brownway Residence in Enosburg Falls with his loving family by his side.
Gerard settled in Vermont from Canada in 1954 and worked on several dairy farms including the Brouillette Farm in Berkshire and he retired from the Clark Hubbard farm in Franklin. His hobbies included, fishing, horses, and sulky racing.
He is survived his children, Roger Beauregard and his wife Pam of Enosburg Falls, Joselyn Eldred of St. Albans, Lise Beauregard of Adamsville, Quebec, Rene Beauregard and his wife Barbara of Richford and Anne Marie Paquette and her husband Roger of Enosburg Falls; 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, he loved them all very dearly; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Gerard was predeceased by his wife Yvette (Lacasse) Beauregard; and many brothers & sisters.

, age 70, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the St. Albans Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born, September 8, 1944 in Richford the daughter of the late, Landon & Blanche (Maynard) Gelbar.
Sally was a lifelong resident of Enosburg and was a 1963 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. She was also a member of the West Enosburgh United Methodist Church. Sally devoted her life to caring for people which started when her sister Barbara became ill and Sally stepped in to help take care of her children. Through the years she took care of many elderly and children throughout the county. She was also the primary care giver to her parents in their later years.
Sally was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed attending Thunder Road & Catamount with her father. She also enjoyed snowmobiling and going to the local fairs with him. Her many hobbies included, knitting, crocheting, cross stich embroidery and watching the food and games channels.
She is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Suzanne & James Marshall of Berkshire, Linda & Roy Carpenter of Enosburgh, Alan & Betty Gelbar of Rutland, and Nancy & George Severance of Mesa, AZ; her brother-in-law, Richard Colburn of St. Albans; many nieces and nephews who were all very dear to Sally. Besides her parents, Sally was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Colburn; and her nephew, Gary Colburn.

She was born August 4, 1923 in St. Albans to the late Harold & Mable (Rich) Perry.
Lora graduated from Franklin High School in 1942. She married Maurice Monty in 1943 and together raised their family on the family farm in Enosburgh. Lora loved all animals, but especially cats and dogs. She enjoyed cooking for her family and going to auctions. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting and crocheting, reading, gardening and dowsing. Lora also loved spending time with her great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Suzanne Granger and her husband Allen of East Calais and Philip Monty and his wife Barbara of Enosburgh; a daughter-in-law, Judy Monty of Bakersfield; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Granger and his wife Joyce of Waynesboro, PA, Polly Rico and her husband Dan of Enosburgh, Emma Hardy and her husband Ben of Enosburgh, Nathan Monty of St. Albans, Heather Monty of East Fairfield and Mark & Katy Monty of Bakersfield; 6 great grandchildren, Natalie & Jillian Hardy, Dahlia & Lora Rico and Haylee & Elizabeth Monty; a sister, Mary Perry of Burlington; a special niece and caregiver, Louise Byam and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, Lora was predeceased by her husband, Maurice Monty; her children, David and Luke Monty and Weston Turner.

, age 50, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday May 3, 2015 at her sons home in Troy. After spending the perfect Saturday with her family.
She was born April 22, 1965 in St. Albans to the late Harold Sr. & Virginia (Wood) Foote.
Sheila graduated from Enosburg Falls High School. On September 9, 1989 she married Randy Sheperd and together they raised their family in Richford. Sheila was a mother in every sense of the word. She lived to pamper her children and grandchildren and would put their needs ahead of hers whenever she could. Sheila could see the good in everyone and was constantly taking in neighborhood children to take care of them.
Her hobbies included going to lawn sales, drinking tea, and being with her family. She loved NASCAR and WWE Wrestling; her favorite driver was Dale Jr. and her favorite wrestler was Randy Orton. She will be loved and missed by many.
She is survived by her husband, Randy Sheperd of Richford, theyve been together for over 32 years; their children, Cody Sheperd and his significant other Brittany Tetlow of Troy, Casey Sheperd and her significant other Adam Irons of Richford and Conner Sheperd of Richford; her grandchildren, Jace Sheperd and Bentley and Lexi Irons; her siblings, Harold Foote Jr. and his wife Deborah of Richford, Donna Cook and her husband Kenneth of Enosburg and Terri Foote and her significant other Max Wilcox of Enosburg and several nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 3:00 PM in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Stone House Rd., Enosburg with Fr. Roger Charbonneau officiating. There will be no visiting hours.

, age 82, passed away Thursday evening, April 30, 2015 at her home with her loving family at her side. Madeline left the world as she lived her life, with dignity and grace.
Madeline was born in St. Albans, VT on September 6, 1932, the daughter of the late Henry & Mabel (Columb) Jette. She grew up in Franklin, VT and graduated from Franklin High School as valedictorian of her class. In 1952, Madeline earned her Registered Nurse license from DeGoesbriand Hospital and worked as a nurse for a short time before she married the love of her life, Stanley McDermott, Jr. (Buzz). They moved to Enosburg Falls in 1956, where they raised their five children. Madeline enjoyed spending the summers at the family camp on Lake Carmi.
Madeline co-owned a milk hauling company, McDermotts Transportation, with her husband, Buzz. In the 60s the logo MT was created for McDermotts Transportation, although some employees and friends affectionately coined the business Madelines Trucks . Buzz and Madelines two sons, Mark and Peter, continued to run the company after Buzzs retirement.
Madeline loved traveling. She and Buzz traveled to many destinations until Buzzs death in 1994. In recent years, she and her children took wonderful trips, including traveling to Alaska and Ireland. During the past two summers, Madeline fulfilled her life-long dream of traveling to Europe in the company of friends.
Madeline was a member of the Modern Dozen 500 card club for decades. She took up golf in her 60s and was a member of the Enosburg Falls Country Club and the Highland Fairways Golf Club, where she hit a hole-in-one. She learned to play bridge in her 70s and enjoyed her bridge clubs in FL and VT. Life was a never-ending learning experience for Madeline. Madeline loved life!
In 1996, Madeline became a snowbird and spent her winters in Lakeland, FL. She was very active in the Highland Fairways community and enjoyed her many new-found FL friends. She met James Miller (Jim) in her new community.
Madeline was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls, VT and Resurrection Catholic Church in Lakeland, FL.
Madeline was extremely devoted to her family. She made her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren feel loved and her love was unconditional.
Madeline is survived by her children, Mark McDermott and his companion Tammy Baisley of Enosburg Falls, Nancy McDermott and her husband Joe Seguin of Newark, VT, Mary Ann McDermott of St. Albans, Patricia McDermott and her husband Robert Anderson of Enosburg Falls, and Peter McDermott and his wife Beth of Enosburg Falls; her grandchildren, Maureen, Helen, Alice & Isabelle McDermott, Anna Starr OShea, Leah Starr Finch, Seth Starr, Trish Adams, Isaac Foote, Adrea Elomri, Padriac Parent, Jeffrey, Jessica & Kaylah McDermott; her great grandchildren, Emily & Wyatt Adams, Ayla & Arie Elomri, Ryker & Tenley Foote, and Ellery OShea; her sister, Rosemary Stanley of Highgate; her brother, Edmund Jette of Jacksonville, AR; her brother-in-law, Philip Boudreau of Franklin; her sister-in-law, Ruth Titemore of Franklin, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Besides her parents, Madeline was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Stanley Buzz McDermott; her husband of five years, James Miller; her great grandsons, Parker, Brandon and Jacob Adams; her sister, Pauline Boudreau; her sister-in-law, Beverly Jette; and her brother-in-law, Bruce Stanley.

She was born August 26, 1930 in Franklin the daughter of the late Henry & Anna (Domingue) White.
Barb has been a longtime resident of Franklin more recently residing at the Franklin Homestead. She attended Franklin Elementary School and Franklin High School. While raising her family she was very active in school parents groups. She was a former member of Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church in East Berkshire where she had also been a member of the Ladies of St. Ann. She attended the Franklin United Church & East Franklin Union Church where she volunteered at church dinners, holiday bazaars and other church functions. Barb was a very social person who enjoyed visiting with people. She had worked part-time at the East Berkshire Post Office and as a Avon Representative.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Wissel and her husband Larry of Williston, Robert Lavery and his wife Suzanne of East Berkshire, and Wendy Lavery of Highgate Center; her step-children, Gayla Vorhies of Florida, Carol Smith and her husband Douglas of South Carolina, Gerald Lagrow of Underhill, and Joel Lagrow of St. Albans; her grandchildren, Jenna Machia and her husband Rickie, Josh Howard and his friend Jerica Broe, Sarah Wissel and her friend Clifford Mayo, Heidi Wissel and her husband Roberto Olvera Vargas, and Amy Lothian and her friend Andrew Tremblay; her great grandsons, Evin Howard & Bryce Tremblay; her step grandchildren, Leslie Lamoreaux, Kimberly Brant, Timmy Conway, Bradley & Christopher Philips, Jason, Matthew, Zachary & Abby Lagrow, and Amy & Sean Whitney; her sister, Donna Domingue and her husband Larry of Sheldon; her sister-in-law, Lulah Lavery of Richford; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and step great grandchildren. She was born October 14, 1924 in Fairfield the daughter of the late George Byron & Gladys (Hefflin) Hill.
Nellie attended grade school in West Enosburgh and was a graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. She married Arnold Elwood on November 7, 1945 and made their home in Franklin where they worked the family farm and raised their children. She was a member of the Franklin United Church, Franklin Federated Women, Franklin Home Dem, Franklin Senior Citizens, American Legion Auxiliary Post #42 of Enosburg Falls, VFW Auxiliary Post 778 of Swanton and was a former member of the Franklin Grange.
Nellie enjoyed cooking homemade bread, pies, canning pickles, mincemeat venison pies, homemade catsup and baking powder biscuits, reading, knitting and watching golf on TV. She also loved to work on the farm and doing the outdoor work unless it was too hot and in her later years enjoyed feeding the calves\u0027.
She is survived by her sons, Clifford Elwood and his wife Darlene of Enosburg Falls, Ivan Elwood and his wife Shirley of Franklin, Walter Elwood of Franklin, and Spencer Elwood and his wife Laurie of West Enosburgh; her daughters, Bonnie Moseley and her husband James of Burlington, and Lynda Emch and her husband Reginald of St. Albans; 12 grandchildren & 18 great grandchildren; her brother, Gordon Buster Hill of Morrisville; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Emery (Barbara) Hill of Morrisville; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arnold Elwood; and her brothers, Emery & William Hill.

Monique attended school in St. Theodore DActon, Quebec and married Gilles Desautels on June 12, 1948. Monique & Gilles made their home in Richford where they farmed and raised their family and were devoted members of All Saints Catholic Church. She had a love of nature, a love of family and was a loving spouse, mother & grandmother. She also enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing of all kinds and gardening.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 67 years, Gilles Desautels of Richford; her children and their spouses, Francine & Marcel Parent of Bromont, Quebec, Jacques Desautels of Richford, Pauline Desautels of Vergennes, Louise & Dale Elwood of Franklin, Luc Desautels of Donalds, SC, Lucie & Steven Hill of Swanton & Christine & Joel Clark of Swanton; 20 Grandchildren & 18 Great Grandchildren; her sister, Noella Desautels and her husband Jean of Richford; many brothers & sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was born on March 10, 1935 in Morrisville, VT to the late Jack C. Salisbury and Margaret H. Salisbury.
Betty graduated from Johnson State College in 1963 and soon joined the St. Albans Town Elementary School as first and later second grade teacher. Her passion in life was being surrounded by children, whether it was her own, taking her kids friends under her wings, or the hundreds of beloved first and second graders she taught for over 30 years. She had a great sense of humor and loved being surrounded by those she held most dear in her life. Once retired she found a piece of heaven in Clearwater, FL and split her time between FL and Lake Carmi, Franklin, VT where she could indulge her other passions in antiquing, tending her flowers, sewing and knitting.
Betty was predeceased by her daughter, Diane, in 1972. She is survived by her children, Cindy Peace and her husband Bill of Lawrenceburg, IN, Carey Colburn of Hanover, NH, Terry Colburn of Martinsburg, WV, Karen Merrill of Miami, FL, Michael Colburn and his wife Nancy of Indianapolis, IN, and Amy Trahan and her husband Kevin of Swanton, VT, and her grandchildren, Jeremie Peace, John Colburn, Sam Colburn, Jack Colburn, Claire Colburn, Deanna Trahan, and Matthew Merrill.
She is also survived by her brother Jack H. Salisbury of Bainbridge, GA.

She was born October 4, 1939 in Highgate the daughter of the late Raymond & Lucille (Durkee) Machia.
Pauline attended schools in New York and Highgate. She loved playing cards and belonged to a cribbage group and two 500 groups. Pauline was a great cook and was famous for her wonderful desserts which she brought to all the family reunions. She was also an accomplished painter and crafter. She was a feisty woman with a quick tongue and a huge heart. She was always there to help someone. Plagued by illness throughout her lifetime, she was not a complainer and found happiness in the littlest things, like an afternoon of tea with friends, Joan Pariseau and Marie Raymond. She loved being with her family, especially her great grandchildren. Pauline was a very strong lady and much loved, she will be missed more than words can say.
Pauline was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she devoted her time and talents on the annual Christmas Bazaar.

She was born in Richford on February 26, 1928 to the late Maurice & Beulah (Schofield) Longey.
Marie graduated from Richford High School and was a life-long resident of Richford. During her working career she was employed at the Atlas Plywood Mill. On May 21, 1951 she married the love of her life, Charles H. Broe. Marie was a member of the Richford 1st Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #12 in Richford. She spent many happy hours there with her friends. To know her was to love her as she was; never without an answer and always making someone laugh. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Joseph & Laura Broe of Berkshire, Timothy & Patty Broe of Sheldon and Peggy & Jeff Clark of Berkshire; step-children, Ernest & Ina Broe of Cornwall and Judy Butler of Richford; a daughter-in-law, Patty Broe of Richford; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. , age 96, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Our Lady of the Meadows long term care facility in Richford.
He was born in Richford on March 13, 1919 to the late Hormidas & Wilhemine (Gagnon) Morel.
Rene was a graduate of Richford High School. On October 16, 1971 he married Nettie Poole. Rene and Nettie made their home in several different states throughout their life together including, Whitinsville, MA, New Smyrna Beach, FL and Richford, VT. He worked as a Methods Engineer for Whitin Machine Works. Rene had a love affair with automobiles, especially his Buick, and he also loved to play tennis. He was a member of the New Smyrna Beach Elks Lodge #1557.
He is survived by his nephew Ricky Doe and his fianc Mary Anne Duell of St. Albans; a great niece, Laura Cole, her husband Wade, and their sons Noah and Elias of Stapleton, CO and a great nephew, Charles Doe of Georgia. Besides his parents, Rene was predeceased by his wife, Nettie Morel; his sister, Irene Benson and his niece, Betty Doe.

, age 81, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington due to a sudden illness.
He was born November 9, 1933 in Richford the son of the late, Addison Bunk & Naomi (Coons) Smith.
Keith was a graduate of Richford High School and served in the U.S Army for 2 years stationed in Germany. Keith was a truck driver, driving for H.P. Hood and Blue Seal Feed - From one end of the cow to the other he used to say in Keith style. He ended his driving career as a school bus driver. Keith was also a maple syrup producer and was 2006 Sugar Maker of the Year and also served as a director of the FCMSMA.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cora Mae (Davis) Smith of Richford; his son, Aaron Rex Smith; his grandchildren, Alex Smith & Amber Sprague and her husband Zach; his brother, Wendell Smith and his wife Leona; his sister, Laura Isleib and her husband Donald; his stepsister, Patricia Korbich and her husband John; his sisters-in-law, Virginia Fleury and her husband Daton, and Gwendolyn Morton; many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and many cousins. Besides his parents, Keith was predeceased by his step-brother, Charles Bridges.

passed away April 2, 2015 in Lakeland Florida. He was born March 22, 1927, to George W. and Mildred Guilmette Fletcher.
Harold served proudly in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1948. He formerly resided in Pendleton, New York, where Harold and his brother-in-law, Charles Hill, owned and operated Fletcher & Hill Builders for forty years. A gifted carpenter, in his later years he enjoyed imparting those skills to others.
Harold is survived by two sisters, Iris Willis of Derby, Vt. and Jean (Roderick) Isham of Hinesburg, Vt.; his nieces and nephew from the Pendleton, New York area, Sandra (Stephen) Hayes, Charlene (George) Peterson, Wayne (Kathy) Hill, Norma (Jerry) Steady and Lee (Kerry) Fye as well as, Martha (Dennis) Forest, of Mableton, Ga., Allen (Monica) Willis of Derby, Vt., Susan (David) FitzGerald of Hortense, Ga., Nancy Craft of Newport, Vt., Thomas (Holly) Martel of Coventry, Vt. and Roderick Isham, Jr. of Enola, Pa. He was born in Richford on March 9, 1946 to the late Douglas & Opal (Sherrer) Sweet.
Ken was raised in Berkshire and a lifelong farmer. His father passed away in 1960, when Ken was 14 years old, from that day on he was running the farm. He would wake up before school to do chores so his family could keep the farm. Ken also picked up exceptional mechanic skills and a love for maple sugaring from being on the farm. Ken enjoyed going to horse and tractor pulls but most of all he loved spending time with his son, Aaron.
He leaves behind his significant other, Janette Ducey and their son, Aaron Sweet of Berkshire; a half-brother, Gordon Jones of East Farnham, Que. and 2 aunts, Audrey Kitt of Bedord, Que. and Shirley Gardner of Dunham, Que. Kenneth was predeceased by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating.

, age 34, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 1, 2015 at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
He was born in St. Albans, January 25, 1981 the son of John Burnor Sr. and the late Linda (Salter) Burnor.
John was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Missisquoi Valley Union High School. He was employed at various places including Lucille Farms in Swanton and Franklin Foods in Enosburg Falls as a cheese maker, John Burnor Sr., All Seasons Siding, Dan Mendl, Sr., and for himself doing small construction and siding jobs around the state.
John enjoyed working, water sports, fishing trips to Cape Cod, working with his Dad, antique autos and antiquing, walks with his girls, bike rides with them, watching movies and making them dinner, popcorn with Jazzy Salter on weekends. He loved spending time as a child sorting Avon and countless hours with Uncle Bob and Aunt Martha, who loved you like a son.
He is survived by his daughters, Cossondra and Julia Burnor; his father, John Burnor Sr. of East Highgate, his brothers, Andrew Burnor & Jeremy Burnor of Swanton and Daniel Burnor of East Highgate ; his sister, Cheyene McDade of East Highgate ; many aunts & uncles including Martha Graham and her husband Robert of Highgate Center with whom Johnny made his home; Joan and William Horne of Arizona, their children, Christina, Chandra, April and their families; Keith Graham and Carolyn Gadbous, who loved him like a brother; mother of his children, Jane Woodard; Rose Salter, Raymond Salter III, Jazzmine Salter, whom he loved very much and helped him until his death; his family Dog, Jack. He was predeceased by his grandparents Leon and Nellie Burnor and Dan Mendl Sr., who loved him very much.
In keeping with Johnnys wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at the Rice Hill Methodist Church at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Officiant will be Johnnys friend and kayak buddy, Terri Blizzard; music selection by Mary Jo Gillilan.

, age 81, passed away Monday morning, March 30, 2015 at the St.Albans Health & Rehab Facility with her loving family at her side.
She was born March 28, 1934 in Flint Hill, Missouri the daughter of the late Hubert & Hulda (Freymuth) Niederer.
Marge attended St. Theodore Elementary School where she participated in most of the church and town functions. She graduated from Wentzville High School as Valedictorian of her class, participating in athletics and many choral groups. Marge was the happiest when she was around her family & friends. She worked in St. Louis, MO doing office work then as a payroll clerk in a garment factory in Wentzville. On June 18, 1955 she was joined in marriage at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Flint Hill, MO to John Maynard of Bakersfield, VT. In July of 1958 they moved to Bakersfield to raise their family and from 1969 to 1984 Marge and John along with their five children owned and operated Maynards Market in East Fairfield. Later she worked as Postmaster Replacement in East Fairfield for 14 years. Marge was a member of St. Anthony/St. Georges Catholic Church in East Fairfield and the St. Anthony Rosary Society.
Marge is survived by her husband John Maynard of East Fairfield; her children and their families, Doug Maynard, wife Donna of East Fairfield and their children, Trevor wife Jenny, Chris wife Leah their children, Noah & Calvin, and Shana Elwood her husband Adam and their children Andrew & Abygail, Debbie Maynard - Page and her husband, Michael Page of East Fairfield, Don Maynard of Greensboro Bend, his children, Brian & Victoria and Victorias son, Grayson, Dan Maynard his wife Patti of Crozet, VA, their children Samantha & Jack, Denise Bordo husband Scott of Enosburg Falls and their children, Gregg & Liza; sister, Genevieve Sherman and her husband William of Flint Hill, MO; her brothers & sisters-in-law, Leona Niederer of Flint Hill, MO, Norman Sleeper of St. Johnsbury, William Maynard and his wife Kathy of Springfield, VT; many nieces and nephews. EAST SHELDON – George O. Stebbins Jr.

died peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2015 after a long illness. He was surrounded by his loving family at his home in Sheldon, Vermont - the same home in which he was born on August 6, 1928 to the late George O. Stebbins, Sr. and Stella (Chapman) Stebbins. Like many boys who share their fathers name, George was given a nickname as a child: Sonny. Some say this was also because of the sunny shade of his white-blond hair, which, although it darkened in color, he never lost and wore in the same close-cropped style his entire life. An early photo of a towheaded boy in overalls kneeling beside a calf prefigures much of his life to come.
He attended both the one-room schoolhouse in East Sheldon and Sheldon High School and graduated from Enosburg Falls High School at the age of 16 as the valedictorian of his class. He was awarded a full scholarship to attend the University of Vermont and considered a career as a Navy pilot, but chose instead to continue his familys tradition of dairy farming.
The third generation to run the Stebbins dairy farm, George was a progressive farmer and a cow man who loved his animals and focused on milk production. He was a member of the Vermont Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA) and for several years in the late 1960s and early 1970s his herd had one of the top DHIA averages in Franklin County. He was an early adopter of artificial insemination and served as a delegate to Eastern Breeders, Inc. He also installed one of the first bulk milk tanks in the county.
In June of 1948, George met the most completely wonderful person I have ever known, Thelma Dorothy Hulbert, at the H.P. Hood picnic in the park at Highgate Falls. They were married on January 14, 1949, in Bakersfield, Vermont. Three pillars held up the foundation of their 58-year partnership: their faith, family, and work - both on the farm and in their community. They shared family gatherings and celebrations; love of family and country life; a fierce Scrabble rivalry; loving care in times of illness; and, above all, a wonderful friendship. Together George and Thelma raised eight children, working hard, having fun, and doing their best to follow Christs example, where love is the center of all things. They helped care for their siblings in sickness, and made monthly trips to Franklin County nursing homes, visiting family and friends, which George continued after Thelma died.
George was a bright man with many intellectual endeavors whose leadership interests and abilities were evident in his many roles in church, community, and civic organizations. George served as Sheldon Town Moderator for 28 years, as well as Town Agent, school board member, and member of the Sheldon Historical Society. George and Thelma were instrumental in organizing the celebration of Sheldons 200-year anniversary in 1991, which began a town tradition of Sheldon Home Days every five years that continues today. George and Thelma were honored to be named Grand Marshals of the 2006 Home Days Parade. George was an active member of the Sheldon United Methodist Church, serving in a variety of leadership capacities. He was a Mason for over 60 years and was a Past Master of Haswell Lodge No. 39 and Past District Deputy Grand Master of District 7. George was also an active member of the Franklin County Republican Party and in 1982 was elected to the Vermont State House of Representatives, where he served for two rewarding and enjoyable terms. He was a member of the Enosburg Lions Club and served on the Franklin County Home Health Board of Directors.
One could say George was a man of few words, but more accurately he was a man who chose his words carefully: the timing, the phrasing, the diction, the tone. With a dry and rich sense of humor, he loved jokes, aphorisms, stories, and sayings, stores of which he contained in his memory to be called upon at the right moment. He was a natural public speaker with a wonderful sense of occasion and the ability to speak both simply and eloquently. His children and grandchildren will treasure his many succinct pieces of advice and wisdom, which always contained a generous dose of good humor. He was an avid reader and loved music, politics, baseball, and lifes simple pleasures.
George valued his family over all things except the Lord, and we could not have asked for a better example in a father, brother, uncle, or grandfather. George loved and enjoyed his grandchildren: Iain & wife Necia, Daniel & wife Amanda, Benjamin & wife Sherry Larose, and Samuel Gorton; Morgan & husband Seth Kittredge, Nathan & wife Kristen, Landon & wife Ellen, and Nicholas Stebbins; Emily & husband Wilder Wheelock IV, Michael, Matthew & wife Erin, and Sean & wife Sarah Stebbins; Regan & husband Paul Keelty, Ashlee & husband Chris Schofield, and Casey Stebbins; Laura & fianc Ben Hardie, Eric & fianc Erin Osmanski, and Kristine Stebbins; Gregory and Zachary Tarte; and Jessica & husband Andrew May, Dianna & fianc Seth Kittell, Andrew, Stuart & wife Jocelyn Benoit, and Evelyn & husband Torrence Reed. Further joy came upon the arrival of his 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister, Janet Stebbins Lumbra & husband Reuben Lumbra of Milo, Maine; his brother-in-law and his wife, Carl & Laura Hulbert of Salt Springs, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. George was pre-deceased by his wife, Thelma; his son, David Merritt Stebbins; his granddaughter, Olivia Chapman Tarte; his parents, George O. Stebbins, Sr. & Stella Stebbins, his mother & father-in-law, Elmer and Gertrude Hulbert; and his sisters, Ryllis Severance and Lila Jones.
Georges family wishes to thank the staff at the Franklin County Home Health Agency and Norma Kimball, Carolyn Bronz and Gloria Sweet for the compassionate and professional care that allowed George to spend his final months at home.

lost his long and courageous battle with Parkinsons disease and its complications, He left this earth peacefully in his home in the arms of his loving wife.
Roger was born in East Berkshire, VT on January 24, 1939 to the late Jessie (Hogaboom) and George Jacobs Sr. Besides his parents, Roger was predeceased by his siblings, George Jacobs Jr. and Arlene Peters.
Roger married the love of his life, Shirley Guilmette, on July 2, 1960. They Celebrated 54 years of marriage. They were blessed with two precious children, Pamela and Roger Jr. who survive him along with their spouses, Alan Marshall and Louise (Longley) Jacobs and their children, Colby and Danielle Marshall and Jason, Kelsey and Ashley Jacobs; and one great grandson, Bentley. From the time he held out his hands to touch those of his children, his heart belonged to them and he was totally involved in providing them with the best possible lives. He is also survived by one brother, Stephen and his spouse Judy and their family and one sister, Lora Jacobs and her family; his mother-in-law, Thelma Gross; sisters-in-law, Joanne OBrien, Marshia Regnier., Gloria Afanasiew, Colleen Mason and Jolyn Farradaz and their families, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Rogers outstanding work ethic was instilled at a young age when he learned to operate heavy equipment in his fathers logging operations and assisted in the production of maple syrup. He later became a 30 plus year employee of Rock-Tenn, retiring in 1993 due to health reasons. He showed great inner strength, courage and dignity throughout his illness and was carried through with his faith and the love and compassion of his family.
Roger was a member of the Vermont National Guard, Company B, 1st Battalion of the 172nd Armored Division in Enosburg Falls and the American Legion Post #12 of Richford.
The hobbies Roger most enjoyed were fishing and hunting. He took great pride in growing vegetables that he generously shared with family and friends and working with and restoring old tractors, however he was best known for his gentle heart, kind ways and unique sense of humor. He was truly the best father, husband, grandfather, son, sibling and friend anyone could ever have. He will remain always in our minds and forever in our hearts.
A celebration of Rogers life will begin with visitation at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls and continue with a service by Fr. Roger Charbonneau at 2:00 PM.

She was born September 26, 1935 in Berkshire the daughter of the late Adolphus A. & Lorena L. (Fecteau) King.
Mary was a resident of Richford most of her life where she was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. She worked as a bartender at the American Legion Post # 12 and was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Mary enjoyed going to BINGO, and playing games like Aggravation & Bunko. She was also an avid baseball fan and especially enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Wright and her husband Gary of Hollister, CA, Pauline Parrotte and her husband Roy of St. Albans, Connie OHearn of Scappoose, OR, and Tina Garrow and her husband Paul of Milton; 9 Grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; her sister, Phyllis Waterhouse of Franklin; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Albert G. Goddard; her brother, Hollis King; and her sister, Betty King.

, age 87, passed away Friday evening March 20, 2015 at his home in Enosburg Falls.
He was born May 18, 1927 at home in East Albany, VT the son of the late Antonio & Georgianna (Letourneau) Lussier
In 1946 Bert enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving during WWII on the USS Manchester in the Atlantic Theater. He received his honorable discharge in 1949. Following his discharge, Bert worked for a brief time at General Motors in Massachusetts and then returned to Vermont where he bought and sold farms throughout the state. He also was a logger, sugar maker, heavy equipment operator, salesman, land speculator, cattle dealer and in his earlier years owned and managed a Ford tractor dealership in Hardwick. He was best known around the state as an auction Ring Man. He also built the Pine Cone Snack Bar in East Berkshire where he also built Berkshires first baseball fields.
He was an active member of the American Legion Post #42 in Enosburg Falls where he served as the post Service Officer and in 2014 he was honored with a plaque on the legion Wall of Honor .
He is survived by his children, Parma Jewett and her husband Duane of Montgomery, Brent Lussier and his wife Cindy of Enosburg Falls, Sandra Lussier of Vancouver, WA, Suzette Draheim of Brookings, OR, and Terrance Lussier and his wife Debbie of Redman, OR; 6 Grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren; his companion of 35 years, Sandi Murphy of Enosburg Falls and her children, Matt & Luke Murphy; and Sandis 6 grandchildren; his siblings, Lucille Sanville of Craftsbury, Yolande Bracci of Florida, Noel Lussier and his wife Barbara of Florida, and Bernard Lussier and his wife Linda of Craftsbury; his sisters-in-law, Beatrice Lussier of Berkshire, and Evelyn Lussier of Lyndonville; many nieces and nephews including Larry & Beas children and their families whom affectionately referred to Bert as Uncle Pepe. He was born August 23, 1931 in East Berkshire the son of the late Leon H. & Luella (Cook) Couture.
Francis was married to Adeline L. (Ramsdell) Couture on May 23, 1953. As a man of God and a farmer all his life, Francis retired from Agway in 1992. He served as Constable for the Town of Berkshire and as Fire Chief for the Berkshire Volunteer Fire Dept.. His strong love for farming was clear to everyone who knew him. A big thank you to the Gang at Pleasant Valley Farm for the special love that they showed for Coutch . Franciss passion was fishing with his grandchildren and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Adeline L. (Ramsdell) Couture of Richford; his children, Wilfred Fred A. Couture and Stacy of Oklahoma, Kenneth Kenny M. Couture Sr. and Lisa of Westford, Rose Donna and Daniel Danny Sr. of Montgomery, Paul J. Couture and Kasi of Oklahoma, and Mary Jane Wetherby and John of Richford; his 22 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Douglas Domina of Greenville, SC; and special friends, Max Sonny Taylor, Dana Brunton & Sherry Couture. , age 59, a resident of Enosburg Falls joined the angels on March 17, 2015, with his loving wife at his side.
Max was born in New Britain, CT on February 20, 1956. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Viet Nam era and was a member of the American Legion, Post 42 of Enosburg Falls. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC and then Okinawa, Japan.
Max eventually moved to VT and married the love of his life, Tammy Lumbra. They shared many lasting memories together. In addition to his wife of 23 years, Max leaves his three step daughters and their families, Michelle, her husband Eric McEnany and their son Dylan from Sheldon, Jaime Willoughby and her daughters Jalyn, Peyton, and Savannah from Highgate, and Amanda Tatro from VT. Max also leaves his brother John, from ME and his daughter, Diane from CT; his brother James from CT; a sister, Martha, from NY, his mother and father in-law, Shirley and Rayburn Donna; his sister and brother in-laws, Linda and Arnold Mercy, Cindy and Donald Lowell, Dianna and Kevin Sylvester, and Sue and Gabe Paquette.
Max enjoyed his grandchildren, he always said they made his life complete. He especially enjoyed his time with his granddaughter, Peyton. She melted his heart from the day she was born. She watched wrestling with him and they had many talks while she sat on the arm of his chair. His favorite day was when they made waves in the pool Papa, you make waves, then I make waves, then you make waves, then I make wavesokay? !
Max was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth Reinholdt, his oldest brother, Ron, and his golfing buddy, Gaysford The Chief Martinson who he considered the father never he had.

She was born June 30, 1953 in Montgomery the daughter of the late Howard Manny & Rita (Potvin) Tatro.
Cindy grew up in Montgomery Center and had worked at the Toy Factory in Montgomery Village. In 1982 she moved to New Hampshire where she worked as a care giver for several years. In 2013 she moved back to Vermont eventually making her home at the Brownway residence in Enosburg Falls. Cindy enjoyed crocheting & reading.
She is survived by her children, Andrew Dillingham of Chester, VT and Miranda Palmer and her husband Richard of Flagler Beach, FL; 2 grandchildren; her siblings, Carol Jean Brooks and her husband Jim of Myrtle Beach, SC, Howard Tatro of Montgomery Center, and Regina Meigs and her husband John of Fairfax; her sister-in-law, Michelle Pariseau of Swanton; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Cindy was predeceased by her brother, Bruce Tatro.

, age 36, passed away Monday evening, March 9, 2015 at his parents home in Richford with his loving family at his side.
He was born July 28, 1978 in Burlington the son of Daniel & Pamela (Young) Parsons.
As a small child, Trevor ran through the woods near his home on Hardwood Hill, where his mother would pin a bell to his clothing to keep track of him. He never stopped moving. His curiosity only grew through his youth; he was known as the kid to always keep asking adults to explain to him, Why? How does that work?
Through tapping sugar maples to building standing-seam metal roofs with his father, Trevor developed a passion for building and fixing things. At 14, he began wrenching on broken down Subarus, and later spent many teenage hours fixing cars with his friends. As part of the tight-knit Richford Class of \u002796, he played basketball and soccer, while also serving as Senior Class President.
His talent for technical problem solving led him to Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he earned a degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation, he worked an international company that installed technical components in oil and natural gas wells, and this led him to live in Trinidad/Tobago and Venezuela.
Yet he missed his home, friends and family and returned in 2003. Five years followed as a carpenter in Telluride, Colorado, where he met his wife. While there, they hiked to many abandoned mines, traveled the west in a truck camper, and enjoyed ski days in the sunny southwest. In 2008 he returned home to the Green Mountains to start a family.
As an Energy Project Manager for Housing Vermont, he helped develop their affordable housing stock towards increased energy efficiency. His tireless efforts toward streamlined HVAC systems led to the development of a data acquisition platform that will be called by his employer: The Parsons Platform.
Those who knew Trevor experienced his extreme generosity and his love of sharing knowledge. There wasn\u0027t boiler he wouldn\u0027t fix or problem he was too busy to solve.
Colorectal cancer interrupted Trevor after the birth of his second child, Ewan, and he investigated every possible treatment and worked to stay with us for 18 months since diagnosis. He passed away in his parent\u0027s home, surrounded by family, enveloped in love.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Cowan) Parsons of South Burlington; his children, Matilda & Ewan Parsons of South Burlington; his parents, Daniel & Pamela Parsons of Richford; his sister, Emily Parsons and her husband Jeff Smith of Laramie, WY/Berkshire, VT ; his grandmother, Laura Parsons Stanley; many aunts, uncles & cousins.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Enosburgh Opera House, 123 Depot Street, Enosburg Falls. There will be no visiting hours. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Hillside Cemetery in Richford.

She was born in Newark, VT on July 22, 1933 the daughter of the late Melvin & Ida (Austin) Howard.
Mildred was a resident of Franklin most of her life. She worked as a cook at the Bowling Alley Restaurant at Lake Carmi and as a clerk at the Franklin General Store for many years. Mildred taught Sunday School and was the former superintendent of the Sunday School Program at the Franklin United Church.
Mildred loved to read, go for rides as well as going out to eat. She especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Cornforth and her husband Bradley of Highgate; her son, Ivan Morton of Sunnyside, WA; her grandchildren, Christopher Cornforth his wife Tanya of Jericho who are expecting a great grandchild, (an event Mildred was very excited about), Justin Cornforth of Essex Jct., and Meghan Cornforth of Highgate; Susan (Morton) Butler & Amy Morton; great grandchildren Janee & Olivia Buter, her special daughter-in-law, Dorothy Morton of Savannah, GA; her sister, Evelyn Cryans of Littleton, NH; many nieces and nephews. , age 53, passed away Friday - February 27, 2015 as the result of a fire at his residence the English Rose Inn.
Gary was born April 28, 1961 in London, England the son of June Warner & William Pike.
At the age of 15, Gary moved with his family to the United States and when he turned 16 he started his culinary career working as a prep-cook and achieving advancements during his time at the Wichita Country Club in Wichita, Kansas. Throughout his career he trained with German & French chefs. He enjoyed competing in ice, Tellow Sculpting and other culinary events. He won many first and second place ribbons for his creations. He moved to Tampa, Florida in 1982 and worked at the Key Biscayne Resort as Head Chef for several years prior to starting work in 1987 at the Sheraton Hotel with 589 rooms in Orlando as a sous chef, where he met his future wife when she started working there in 1992. Gary & Mary Jane were married August 27, 1994 and made their home in Lake Helen, FL before returning to Mary Jane\u0027s home state of Vermont in 1999 when they purchased the former Eagle Lodge in Westfield/Montgomery Center. They spent the next 14 plus years renovating the Victorian inn named the English Rose Inn, accommodating skiers, hikers, cyclers, golfers, foliage seekers and travelers from around the world. Together they enjoyed serving their guests and treating them to fine dining at their restaurant in the Inn, Paddingtons.
Gary enjoyed traveling, building and navigating his RC planes and helicopters and antiquing. He especially loved to spend time and enjoyed the visits with his stepsons and brother.
Gary is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Bouchard Pike of Montgomery Center; his stepsons, Christopher Adam Bombardier his wife Jennifer and their children, Branson & Ronan of Clover, SC, and Scott Louis Bombardier and his wife Diane of Palm Coast, FL; his mother, June Holloway and her husband Merlin of Arlington, TX; his father, William Pike and his wife Mary Maz of Ireland; his brother, Anthony Pike of Island of Crete, Greece; his in-laws, Adele Paquette of Swanton, Louis Bouchard Jr. and his wife Andy of Lunenburg, VT, and Suzie Bouchard of Montgomery Center; his nieces and nephews, Dustin Pike, Corey Paquette and his wife Tomika, Joseph Paquette, Laurie Elwood and her husband Travis, Chelsea Bouchard & Jason Bouchard; several great nieces, great nephews & cousins; his faithful companions, Cody, Torie, Raven & Chico. Gary was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Pike.

, age 23, lost his lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
Jordan was born August 18, 1991 in Burlington the son of Wendy Marsha & Randy Parker.
Jordan was a 2009 graduate of BFA St. Albans. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports, and playing his guitar. Jordan was simply impossible to ignore. With a perpetually sly smile, he made sure he was the center of attention. He was high-minded, authentic, and old-fashioned. He lived each day with a restless impatience, constantly reinventing himself. His daily life was full of misadventure with a plausible rationale for every one of his questionable actions. He was a hapless romantic, with deep love for his dog, his family, his friends, his healthcare providers, and his women in that order. He will be forever remembered for his shameless, mischievous, and gut-busting sense of humor. His antics are legendary. Jordan wanted to make a difference. Please share your love of him by encouraging the gifts that make each one of us special and unique; then do something utterly hysterical for some unsuspecting soul!

Aven enjoyed swimming in great papa farmers swimming pool, riding the 4-wheeler with Uncle Logan, snowmobiling, having Aunt Bailey pulling him outside in the snow, cuddling with Meme & Papa, John Deere tractors. Aven also loved going to truck and car shows and the sounds of engines. Most of all he loved spending time with his Mommy.

, age 93, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Banner Elk, in Banner Elk, North Carolina.
Daughter of the late Herman and Fannie (Davis) Smith, she was born October 18, 1922 in Richford, Vermont.
Margaret worked as a caregiver and server and spent much of her life in northern Vermont. In her later years she moved to St. Petersburg, Florida and then closer to her daughters family in North Carolina.
She loved arts & crafts, the beauty of the outdoors and she especially loved birdwatching. She was an entertaining storyteller; sharing stories of growing up with her siblings, working in the sugarbush, skiing and driving the team of horses at her family homestead in Richford, Vermont.
She is survived by her daughter, Clara Jean Kelley; daughter-in-law, Diane Kelley; grandchildren John (Lisa) Chenausky, Dawn Kelly, Brad (Christy) Chenausky, Daniele Simpson, Larry (Peggy) Kelley, Shawn (Chantel) Kelley; great grandchildren, Avery Kelly, Jackie Larrabee, Amanda Simpson, Stephanie Simpson, Melissa Riendeau, Caleb Kelley, Travis Kelley, Reegan Kelley, and Jordyn Kelley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and the caring staff at Life Care Center of Banner Elk.

, 86, of Donalds, SC, formally of Richford, VT, wife of the late Norbert Bergeron, died Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Hospice House in Greenwood, SC. She was born in Richford, VT to the late Harold G. and Juliette L. Smith Wing.
Mrs. Bergeron and her husband were in the dairy and logging business for many years. They restored homes and served other by operating a Community Care Home. Mrs. Bergeron served on the school and zoning boards in Vermont, was a 4-H Leader and an avid dancer. She and her husband retired to Florida and were residents there for 20 years before moving to Alabama and eventually South Carolina. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abbeville.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law Jilda Jo and Danny Vermillion; and a granddaughter, Courtney McGaha.
She is survived by her two daughters, Polly Gendron and her husband Leo and Jennifer Tessier and her husband Dale both of Donalds, SC; seven grandchildren, Jamie, Shannon, Katie, Kailey, Matthew, Abbey and Amber; three great-grandchildren, Charli, Jaidynn and Zane.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Harris Funeral Home with a Rosary Prayer service to be recited at 7:30PM. A Rite of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, February 19, 2015 beginning at 12:00Noon with the Rev. Father Robert J. Sayer officiating. , age 63, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 14, 2015 with his wife by his side at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born in St. Albans on May 19, 1951 the son of the late Derrell & Alice (Davis) Ovitt Marcotte.
Mark was a graduate of B.F.A. Fairfax class of 1970. After high school he married the love of his life Laura Cutting on December 5, 1975. They made their home in St. Albans for several years before relocating to Richford in 1990. Mark spent time working as the building trades instructor at the Cold Hollow Career Center in Enosburg Falls and also in the public works department for the Town of Richford. Mark truly enjoyed life and was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lamoille Lodge #6 of Fairfax and the Order of the Eastern Star Martha Washington Chapter.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Laura Ovitt of Richford, his siblings, Kathleen Upton of Wallingford, Michael & Marge Ovitt of Burlington, Craig & Terri Ovitt of Ausable Forks, NY and Audrey & Dan Malaney of Fairfax; sisters-in-law, Nancy Ovitt of North Carolina, Vera & John Buttles of Milton and Sandra Cutting of Fairfax; brother-in-law, Gerald Desso of Essex Jct. and several nieces & nephews. He was born in Richford on October 27, 1927 to the late Clarence & Glenna (Casavant) Chamberlain.
Conant served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of WWII. He spent most of his life in Franklin where he worked for over 40 years as an auto body mechanic for Benjamins Garage. He also spent time as a school bus driver for Franklin until he retired. Conant was a member and chief of the Franklin Fire Department, a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts and a member of the Grange and the Swanton V.F.W. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his son, Gaylord Chamberlain and his wife Sheryl of Burlington; grandchildren, Celeste Langlais and her husband Michael Sr. and Nicholas Chamberlain all of Burlington; 2 great grandchildren, Mikayla and Michael Langlais Jr.; his special friend and caregiver, Dee Ann Corey and his nephew, Dan Corey. Besides his parents, Conant was predeceased by his wife, Esther (Herron) Chamberlain; his daughter, Mary Ann Chamberlain and a special friend, Eleanor Corey.

, age 66, died Thursday, February 5, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Sheldon.
Shirley was born in North Hampton, MA on October 9, 1948 the daughter of the late Audrey (Finn) Daniels.
She grew up and attended schools in North Hampton, MA and South Royalton, VT. On September 5, 1969 she married Stephen M. Harrness of Randolph and began the life of farming in Vermont. Shirley and Steve worked side by side on their farms in Randolph, Grand Isle and Enosburg Falls. They started milking 55 cows in Randolph, then grew to milking 100 in Grand Isle and reached 900 in Enosburg Falls.
When in Grand Isle, Shirley became active with the childrens school and PTA, Boy Scouts and 4-h Dairy. She was on the VT State 4-H Dairy Committee and chaperoned 4-H Dairy trips to Vermont fairs as well as Eastern States for many years.
Shirley leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Steve Harrness. In addition to Steve, she leaves 3 sons, Thomas and his wife Liza of Sheldon, Lawrence and his wife Mary Jane of Berkshire and Dennis of Sheldon. Shirleys grandchildren were her life, Jonathan, Anthony, Perry, Ryan, Makayla and Lawrence all survive her and she loved making her annual trips with them to the Great Escape, Santas Village and other fun places; she never went a day without her grandchildren around her.
Shirley also leaves behind her siblings, Jean Jones and her husband Bruce and Audrey Frary and her husband David all of South Royalton, Roland Daniels and his wife Wanda of Meriden, NH and Robert Daniels and his wife Allison of El Paso, TX; her family in Bethel, Debbie and Bill Richards and father-in-law, Mitchell Harrness; her dear, loving friends, Mary Mason of Enosburg Falls, Brenda Dupont of East Haven and Jackie Dragon of Franklin; Mary, Brenda and Jackie brought Shirley laughter, joy, support and a beautiful friendship. She also leaves behind numerous nieces & nephews who she loved and enjoyed. She was born July 21, 1921 in Richford the daughter of the late George & Amanda J. (Cote) Godin.
She was a resident of Enosburg Falls & Richford most of her life and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls and the Ladies of St. Ann Society. She was employed at the former Whitings Flower Shop as a bookkeeper for 14 years, a cook at the Dairy Center for 13 years, and owned and operated a greenhouse on the Boston Post Road for 14 years.
Georgette enjoyed creating many different types of crafts especially painting & cornhusk dolls which she took to peddle at craft shows. She also made wedding cakes and gardened. She took great pride in refurbishing statues at many of the area Catholic churches.
She is survived by her children, Helen Bushey and her husband Donald of Bakersfield, Robert Gervais and his wife Gisele of Enosburgh, Marcel Gervais and his wife Donna of Swanton, Carol Ann Wickert and her husband Dean of Palm Coast, FL, and Rose-Marie Manahan and her husband Timothy of Grand Isle; 26 Grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren, 16 Great Great Grandchildren; 2 nephews and 1 niece. Besides her parents, Georgette was predeceased by her 1st husband, Gordon Garrow in 1947; her 2nd husband Antonio Gervais in 1983; her sisters, Marie Rose Brouillette, Aurora Peters & Mable Godin.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 222 Missisquoi St, Enosburg Falls with Rev. Roger Charbonneau celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in Richford.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 4-7 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.

, 74, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington surrounded by her family and friends.
Maureen was born on December 23, 1940 in Bellows Falls, VT, the daughter of Adrian J. and Margaret (Dee) Blanchard.
Maureen had worked for a number of years as a para-educator at the Bakersfield Elementary School. She was a collector of owls and an avid bird watcher. Maureen also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, wind chimes, Celtic music and, especially, spending time with her family and friends.
Maureen is survived by her devoted son, Shawn Hennessey of Bakersfield; a brother William Blanchard and his wife Carol of Bellows Falls; 2 sisters Shelia Patenaude and her husband William of Spofford, NH and Kathleen Coburn and her husband Nelson of Bellows Falls; nieces and nephews; grandnieces and nephews and many friends.

, age 78, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Vermont Respite House in Williston.
She was born July 27, 1936 in Sheldon to the late Albert & Ida (Justras) Menard.
Anita was a graduate of Franklin High School class of 1953. Anita was married to the late William W. Bill Paradee Sr. Together, with their children, they farmed for 27 years in Sheldon. After Bill passed away in 1980 she moved to Enosburg Falls and began working at Spears Pharmacy. Anita sold the family farm to her son Danny in 1987 and retired in 1998 with 16 ½ years at the pharmacy. Her hobbies included shopping, going to lawn sales, collecting and going to craft fairs.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Diane & Kevin Quiet of Vergennes, William Jr. Bobby & Tina Paradee of Sheldon, Steven & Cathie Paradee of South Berwick, ME, Debra & Dale Eggleston of Phoenix, AZ, Paul & Becky Paradee of Bumpass, VA and Daniel & Kathleen Paradee of Sheldon; 16 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren; her siblings, Daniel Menard and his wife Joyce of Fairfield, Gerald Menard of Palm Springs, CA, Hortence Vanslette of Highgate Springs and Ruth Brosseau and her husband Leo of Garden Grove, CA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Teresa Terri Menard, Dora Paradee and Thomas Paradee and his wife Ellen all of Fairfield, Mary Boudreau and her husband Richard of Franklin and Barb Colby of St. Albans and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends - especially those on Maple Park. Besides her parents, Anita was predeceased by her husband, William W. Paradee Sr. in 1980 and her siblings, Furman and Maurice Pete Menard, Hilda Minnie Demar, Marion Mantegani-Lussier and Lucille Kinerson.

, passed away the morning of Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at his home following a struggle with cancer.
He was born in 1941 to Edward Bloomer and Margaret (Aldrich) Bloomer in St. Albans where he graduated from Bellows Free Academy.
In 1962 he married Diana Gratton and began his 30 year career as a full-time Vermont National Guard Technician. After his retirement he had the great joy and privilege of being the herdsman of a fallow deer farm in Montgomery. He was an avid deer hunter and loving father.
He is survived by his wife, Diana; his daughters, Karen LaFlam of St. Albans, Tammi Lamonda and her husband Richard of Richford, and Patricia Bloomer of Williamstown; his father-in-law, Raymond Gratton of Montgomery; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; several aunts & uncles.

She was born July 3, 1935 in Jay, VT to the late Walter & Mable (Corey) Bosley.
Doris was born and raised in Vermont and was very proud of her Native American roots. She worked mostly as a seamstress for Cross Borders Sewing Factory but also spent time as an apple picker. Family was the most important thing to her, she loved get-togethers and spoiling her grandchildren. Her hobbies included bird watching, going to lawn sales, camping, going for rides, dancing and going to fairs. She was also a huge fan of NASCAR and her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon.
She is survived by her children, Charles Sartwell Sr. and his wife Kim of Highgate, Donnie Sartwell and his wife Joanna of Georgia and Penny Barney and her husband Joseph of Highgate; her partner, Sonny Taylor of Richford; her grandchildren, Jennifer Sartwell of Fairfield, Derick Sartwell and his fianc Jenna Johnson of Richford, Joseph B. Barney and his wife Sabrina of Swanton and Jaydon & Maelyn Sartwell of Georgia; great grandchildren, Zachary, Sierra, Brian, Dylan, Jordan, Cheyenne and Robert Sartwell, Joseph C. Barney and another on the way; her special niece, Loretta Byers of Richford, half-sisters and brother, Reba, Gloria, Christine and Keith all of West Virginia and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband, Charles Sartwell; her grandson, Charles Sartwell Jr.; an infant great grandchild, Baby Sartwell and her siblings, Viola Jenne and Lawrence Bosley.

Berkshire, Vermont – Bruce Stephen Lovelette

, 60, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2015 holding the hand of his adoring wife, Pamme. A sudden illness took him from us far too soon.
Bruce was born on October 16, 1954 in Berkshire, VT in the midst of historic Hurricane Hazel. That hurricane set the tone for a life lived at full throttle. He grew up in Berkshire and Richford, helping on his grandfathers farm and other local farms where he became like family. After graduating from Richford High School in 1973, he enlisted in the Army, and served much of his time in Germany. He graduated from New Hampshire Technical College in 1980 and then took a job as a machinist with Pratt & Whitney in Maine. But Bruce wanted to return to Vermont so he found a job at General Electric in Burlington. He also worked at Hazelett Strip Casting in Colchester, and finished his career as a machinist at Rock Tenn in Sheldon, VT. In 2008, Bruce became the proprietor of The Bed and Biscuit dog boarding kennel, in Berkshire, VT.
In 1997 Bruce married the love of his life, Pamela Gagnon.
Bruce had many hobbies and friends, but three hobbies stand out that define who he was. He was a devoted hunter and outdoorsman, loving the woods and the decades of comradery with his close knit group of hunting friends. He was a car guy and passionate about his Mopar muscle cars. Over his lifetime he owned dozens of fast and furious cars that he restored. In his younger years, he was often on Jay Road drag racing his beloved 1970 Road Runner that was seldom beat. He also had an immense passion for his dogs. He and Pamme began breeding Australian Shepherds in 2005 and Bruce developed many aspects of his love of dogs through showing and training. Each of these hobbies gave Bruce deep friendships with so many wonderful people. He enjoyed fishing, caring for his small farm animals and many other hobbies. Bruce was an avid snowmobiler and loved any other activity that allowed him to go fast.
Bruce was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post # 12 and recently became a devoted member of the Berkshire Fire Department. He was president of the Missisquoi Bearcat Snowmobile Club for many years.
Bruce is predeceased by his beloved mother and father Barbara (Stanhope) & Frederick Lovelette. He is also predeceased by his grandparents, many aunts and uncles who influenced his life greatly and his in-laws, Frederick & Gertrude Gagnon who loved him like their own son. His brother in law, Brian Broe also predeceased him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela. He is also survived by his brother Michael Lovelette, his wife Mary of Brandon, VT and their children Stephanie, Jennifer and Christopher, his sister Patricia Broe of Richford, VT and her children Heather Bapp and Jessica Broe. Bruce is survived by his beloved uncle Neal Buddy Lovelette of Stanhope NJ and Richford VT and much loved Aunt Betty Mossey of St. Albans Vt. Bruces cousins are so numerous. He was blessed to have such a special relationship to so many of them including, John and Lynda Cluba of Montgomery VT, Stephen Lovelette of Northbrook IL, Lynnda Bliss of St. Albans, Kim Foss of St. Albans, Susan Rogers of Euliss TX, Cathy Fischer of Burlington VT and Tim Stanhope of Berkshire, VT. Special mention must be made of his close relationship with his niece Heather Bapp, her husband Chad and their children Chelsea Byrne, Jaelynn, Caleb and Scott Bapp. Among Bruces most special friends are two young women he considered to be like his daughters, Karie Thompson Atherton and Kaydeen Juaire. His extended family through his wife were so important to him: Sister-in-Law April White, her husband Michael of Glenmoore PA and their children Lindsay White and Corporal Kevin White USMC of whom Bruce was so proud and; Sister-in-Law Deborah Smith and her husband Tim of Lawrenceville GA and Deborahs son Trey Hooper, wife Oksanna and their adorable son Theo Hooper of Nokesville, VA. He loved his extended family so much. It is difficult to leave out the names of so many friends that made his life so rich and remarkable. Finally, his beloved dogs - some of whom will miss him every day and some of whom are greeting him now at the rainbow bridge.

age 68, Passed away January 22, 2015 at the Hospice of Volusia Flagler with his family by his side after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in St. Albans, Vermont on September 18 1946 to Clarence and Dorcas (Champagne) Boudreau.
Michael graduated From BFA St. Albans in 1964 upon graduation he joined the US navy. He was a man of many hats, while in Vermont he worked for General Electric, IBM and even loved to tinker on cars at Fairfax Salvage but his main love was at the Essex Country club and Champlain Country club where he loved to play golf. Michael played horseshoes in his early years, was on the Bolton Valley ski patrol and even loved coaching little league baseball. Mike was a Mason in the Lamoille Lodge #6 and was a Fairfax volunteer firefighter. Michael then moved to Deland Florida in 1994 where he worked at Intellatic and the Deland Country Club and became a big motorcycle enthusiast. Michael also loved fishing and hunting but most of all spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Judy (Sweet) Boudreau. His Children, son, Kris Boudreau and his wife Brandy, daughter, Elle Marie Boudreau; daughter, Renee Pattee and her husband Tom and their sons Dylan and Colby. Brother Gary Boudreau and his wife Hez; many nieces and nephews; mother of his children, Charlene Boudreau. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Judy Radzyminski.

, age 64, passed away unexpectedly at his home from natural causes on Thursday, January 22, 2015.
He was born on the family farm in Richford, VT on August 26, 1950 the son of Germain Legault and the late Simon (Proulx) Legault.
He was a 1968 graduate of Richford High School. Following graduation John worked at H.K. Websters (Blue Seal Feeds) in Richford for a brief period. He then entered the United States Marine Corp from 1969-70 serving in Vietnam for one tour of duty. Following his honorable discharge he went back to work at H.K. Websters. In 1971 John married Monica Mudgett and they had had 3 children. Beginning in 1984 John and Monica owned and operated a veal farm until 1992. He then drove truck for William Holdman, Inc. until military service related health issues caused him to retire. John was a member of the D.A.V. Commanders Club.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly Legault-Forty and her husband Matthew of Franklin, Tracie Hammond and her husband Scott of Tampa, FL, and Michael Legault and his wife Angie of Berkshire; his grandchildren, Ryan Legault and his wife Jessi, Ethan Legault, his great grandson Mason, his many loving step grandhildren, his father, Germain Legault of Bedford, Quebec; his mother-in-law, Shirley Mudgett of Richford; his brother, Maurice Legault and his wife Paulette of Richford; his sisters, Ginette Whitehead and her husband Chuck of Anchorage, AK, Marielle St.Pierre and her husband Bertrand of Richford, Madeleine Lelivre of Montreal, Quebec, and Helen Legault of Bedford, Quebec; many nieces and nephews. Besides his mother, John was predeceased by his loving wife, Monica (Mudgett) Legault on August 25, 2010.

, age 92, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 with his family by his side at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born December 22, 1922 in South Richford to the late Hormidos & Adeline (Paquette) Roberts. Donald was the youngest of 15 children.
Donald attended Richford High School and after graduation he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. When discharged from the Navy he came home and married the love of his life, Norma Mae Butler on June 22, 1946. Donald owned and operated his business, Roberts Shoe Repair, out of their home on Main Street in Richford; where he lived until 2006. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years as a city letter carrier in Richford, he retired in 1981. After Norma passed away on June 5, 2005 he moved closer to his daughter in Berkshire.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacy (Roberts) Gregoire and her husband Paul of Berkshire; his grandson, Philip Gregoire and his family, Samantha, Zoe & Kayla of Berkshire; a brother-in-law, Harry Butler of Cowansville, Que.; several nieces & nephews and his lifelong friends, Peter & Maxine Farrar and Richard & Diane McAllister, Donald enjoyed many years of attending car shows with Pete & Richard. Besides his parents and wife, Donald was predeceased by his 14 siblings and in-laws, Harry & Mabel Butler.
There will be no services for Donald at this time. A graveside memorial service will be held at the familys convenience this spring in All Saints Cemetery in Richford.

, age 67, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes at his home on January 14, 2015.
He was born June 15, 1947 in Enosburgh, the son of the late Donald & Mary Gertrude (Young) Messier.
Donnie was a lifelong resident of Enosburgh and was a graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. He was longtime employee with the Vermont Department of Transportation retiring in 1999. He also served for a short time as a Deputy Game Warden for the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department. Following his retirement he worked part time for Bill Pattee haying, sugaring & cutting wood.
Donnie served in the Vermont National Guard for many years and belonged to the American Legion Post # 42 of Enosburg Falls serving on the color guard as commander.
Among his many hobbies Donnie enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish and trap and was more than willing to share his knowledge with kids.
He is survived by his daughters, Jodie Dash and her husband Jason Draper of Sheldon, and Ashley Messier and her partner David Cota of Milton; his grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth Aldrich, Alison Jean Dash & Aydan Christopher Dash; his brother, Michael Messier of Richford; a niece and 3 nephews. Besides his parents Don was predeceased by his brother, David Messier; and his twin sister, Donna Tipper.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 from 1-4 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with military honors taking place at the funeral home at 4PM. , age 99, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at her home in East Franklin.
Frances was born in Springfield, Missouri on November 20, 1915, the only child of the late James & Grace (McNeer) Daughtrey. Her great-grandfather, Bird Miller, was the patriarch of one of Springfields earliest and most prominent families. He settled at the springs in NW Springfield (Grant Beach Park) naming it Millers Springs, where he was buried.
Frances attended the Springfield, MO public school system and graduated from Greenwood High School. She attended Oklahoma College for Women, Chickasha, OK, Southwest Missouri State College (SMU), and Draughons Business College.
She married Thomas K. McGuire, Sr. in the mid 1930s and had two sons, Thomas & James, from this marriage. In 1942 Frances moved to Washington, D.C. and worked for the War Production Board and the Navy Department, where she met U.S. Navy Fire Control Chief Renwick Scott, of East Franklin, Vermont. They married in 1948 and were stationed in Hawaii for two years at the U.S. Naval Shipyard, Pearl Harbor. They subsequently moved to California and were stationed at the U.S. Naval Base in San Diego. Renwick spent his 20th year in the U.S. Navy career stationed in Springfield, Massachusetts. At this time, their daughter, Joanne was born.
Upon Renwicks retirement from the Navy, they moved to a century old farmhouse in East Franklin, VT and, over a twenty-year period, rebuilt and refurbished the Scott Farm dairy. After Renwicks death, Frances returned to Springfield, MO, in 1977. She was a volunteer in the office of the Council of Churches AARP Widowed Persons Service, was an original member and served on the board of the All Church Singles Club, while she worked for New York Life and Wells Fargo/Loomis Fargo for fifteen years, retiring in 2001.
Frances loved to travel, and in her 70s & 80s explored Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, South America and the United States. She was an avid reader, always with a novel in hand.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Scott of East Franklin, VT; 2 sons, Thomas K. McGuire, Jr. Esq. and James McGuire of Springfield, MO; her grandchildren, Kenton James McGuire, Marcie McGuire, of Springfield, MO, and her beloved Evan Scott James of Franklin; a step-granddaughter, Debbie McLain of Springfield, MO and niece & nephews, Mary Bates, and James and Michael Benjamin all of Northern Vermont. Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by her husbands, Thomas K. McGuire, Sr. and Renwick F. Scott, her grandson, Mark McGuire and niece & nephew, Bruce Benjamin and Sandra Andersen.

, age 63, passed away on Monday morning, January 12, 2015 at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was born November 8, 1951 in St. Albans the daughter of the late Adelord & Hazel (Ovitt) Tourangeau.
Susan was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. She worked at Smugglers Notch and as an LNA at Haven Health Care and Our Lady of the Meadows. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, collecting teddy bears and making chocolate candies. Most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Roger Bushey of Bakersfield. Susan & Roger were married on November 6, 1971. She is also survived by her children, Michael Bushey his wife Christine and their children, Ashely, Dylan, Kyle & Brenda of Fairfield, Robert Bushey of Bakersfield, Raymond Bushey his wife Lane and their children, Preston & Parker of Berkshire, Angela Kittell and her husband David of Enosburg Falls, and April Bushey her husband Robert Sweet and their children, Cheyanne & Erin of Fairfield; her brother, Eugene Tourangeau of Highgate; her sister, Gretchen Putnam and her husband Don Sr.; several nieces and nephews.

She was born June 9, 1922 in St. Seraphine, Quebec Canada the daughter of the late Eddie & Marie (Martin) Kane.
Bea was a resident of Enosburg Falls for the past 21 years and was a former resident of Sheldon. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls and was a former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Sheldon Springs.
Bea was a supporter of the Vermont Association of the Blind and had been involved with the American Kennel Club. She also attended Care Partners in St. Albans. Bea loved animals, especially dogs and raising Cocker Spaniels, reading, watching birds and watching Christian television. She had a love of children and had a very special bond with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Alfred John Reed and his wife Susan (Irish) of Sheldon, and Richard Parks Sr. and his wife Arlene of Swanton; 6 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; her sisters, Alice Swainbank of St. Albans and Pat and her husband Ted Breure of South Burlington; her brother, Andy Kane and his wife Bette of Enosburg; sisters-in-law, Alfreda Kane of Sheldon, Gloria Kane of Fairfield, and Joan Kane of Berkshire; brother-in-law, Richard Putnam of St Albans; many nieces and nephews; and many foster children she helped raise. Besides her parents, Bea was predeceased by her husband Edwin Reynolds; her brothers, Michael, Walter, Frank, Dennis & Herman Kane; and her sister, Edna Putnam.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 1:00 PM at St. Anthonys Catholic Church, 117 Shawville Road, Sheldon Springs with Rev. Roger Charbonneau celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be held next spring in St. Anthonys Cemetery in Sheldon.
Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4-7 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
