Rachel A. "Rae" Jackson, 63, of Lyndonville, died unexpectedly in St.
Johnsbury on Friday afternoon, March 30, 2012, with her husband by her side.
Rachel was born March 1, 1949, in Lyndonville the daughter of Malcolm and Laurencetene (Tulip) Davis Sr. She was a graduate of Lyndon Institute. On Sept. 11, 1971, she married Joseph "
Joe" Jackson and they made their home in Lyndonville. She was an active life
member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 10038 of Lyndonville and also a life member of
Rachel A. "Rae" Jackson the Tom Breslin Center of Lyndonville. She worked on and
played Bingo regularly. She enjoyed playing cribbage, camping, traveling to Littleton, N.H., watching people, taking care of
children, following high school and national football, wrestling and local auto racing.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 41 years, Joe Jackson of Lyndonville (P.O. Box 1595, 05851); her mother,
Laurencetene Davis of Orleans; two brothers, Malcolm Davis Jr. and wife Paula of Lyndonville and James Davis of Fair Haven;
two sisters, Ann Gently and husband Pete of Orleans and Jeannie Blake and Ed James of Lyndonville; many nieces,
nephews, cousins and close friends. She is predeceased by her father, Malcolm Davis Sr.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at 4 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Lyndonville with The Rev. Fr.
Patrick Forman officiating. There will be no visiting hours. Donations made in her memory may be directed to the Lyndon
Area Senior Meal Site, "for Meals on Wheels," 76 Depot Street, Lyndonville, VT 05851.
