PEAK: Claire A., 94, of Lyndonville died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at her home. The daughter of John R. and Etta (Davis)
Phillips, she was born Jan. 13, 1910 in Sheffield. Claire attended the Sheffield School as well as Lyndon Institute. She
married Melvin G. Peak on May 10, 1941. Claire enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-
grandchildren, and also riding the roads with her husband, reading, fishing and crocheting. Claire is survived by her
daughter, Joyce Madison and husband James of Belton, Texas, a son, George R. Peak and partner Colleen Willette of White
River Junction, daughters Donna Rowell and husband Avery of Concord, Norma Placey and husband Irving of North Haverhill,
N.H.; grandchildren Michael K., Chad A., and Jeremy K. Rowell, Kimberly Bienvenue, and Bethany Hale; seven great-
grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a special family, Patricia Crocker. Claire was predeceased by her husband,
Melvin G., on March 21, 1972. Visiting hours will be Sunday afternoon, Nov. 28 between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m. A funeral
service will be held Monday, Nov. 29, at 11 a.m. both at Pearsons Funeral Home, located at 70 Church St. in
Lyndonville. Interment will be in the Sulphur Springs Cemetery, in Wheelock. Donations in memory of Claire may be made to
the Vermont Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired, 37 Elmwood Ave., Burlington, VT 05401.
