James Allen Sanborn, age 43, of Granby Road died at his home Thursday
Morning, August 25, 2016, with his family by his side following a
courageous battle over the last three years fighting ALS.
Jim was born in Burlington, VT, on July 27, 1973, son to James P Babcock
and Sharon L (Sanborn) Ratta. He was raised and educated in Burlington
and Lyndon graduating from Lyndon Institute in the class of 1992. He
worked for Northend Hardwoods in Lyndonville for over 20 years and at
Lyndonville Hardware from 2013-2015. Jim loved the winter and enjoyed
snowmobiling with family and friends. He liked hunting, fishing, sitting
around the campfire listening to 93.7 the Outlaw while watching for UFO's,
4-wheeling, camping, the Montreal Canadians, watching the Little League
World Series and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by the love of his life, Carol Allen, of Victory, VT, his father:
James P. Babcock, his mother: Sharon L. Ratta, his brother: James Babcock
all of Williston, his maternal step-grandmother: Shirley Sanborn of Bristol,
NH, step-father: Donald Ratta of St. Johnsbury, Carol's siblings: Lyman
Dunn, Jr. of Victory, Carl & Shari Dunn of Littleton, NH, Eileen & Brian
Lampman of Fairfield, VT, Carol's sons: Daniel Allen of Newport, Neal &
Ashley Allen of Lyndonville, grandchildren: Adrian, Hailey, Deakin, Kianna
and Karson and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents: William & Annette
Babcock, his maternal grandparents: Donald W. Sanborn and Gertrude Lommis.
There will be no Calling Hours.
A gathering to celebrate Jim's Life is scheduled for September 10th at 11:00
am at the homestead in Victory, with a luncheon to follow at 1:00 pm.
