David W. Norrie, 57, of St. Johnsbury Center, died unexpectedly early
Wednesday morning January 7, 2015 at Northeastern VT Regional Hospital
in St. Johnsbury.
He was born December 22, 1957 in St. Johnsbury the son of William and
Charlotte (Moulton) Norrie. He was a graduate of Lyndon Institute's class
of 1976. On October 28, 1978 he married Joyce Wilson.
David was an auto parts salesman for Bond Auto Parts in St. Johnsbury for
many years. He liked tinkering on anything mechanical and was a NASCAR
fan. He also liked working in his vegetable gardens and following the
National Football League. He loved fishing with his family, and spending
time with his grandson Damyin.
He was well liked by others and was a devoted husband, father,
grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Survivors include his mother, Charlotte Norrie of Lyndonville; his wife,
Joyce Norrie of St. Johnsbury Center; their daughter, Marissa Gadapee
and her husband Corey of East Haven; their grandson, Damyin Gadapee;
his brother, Larry Norrie and his wife Nancy of Lyndonville; two sisters,
Sandra Davis and her husband Kevin of Lyndon and Melody Persons and
her husband Dewey Jr. of St. Johnsbury; a sister in-law, Vicki Gonyer of
Concord; his father in-law, Charles Wilson of Newport; two brothers in-
law, Jonathan Wilson and his wife Marti of Brownington and Joseph Wilson
and his wife Penny of Irasburg; fifteen nieces and nephews; and many
close friends.
He was predeceased by his father William in 1995; his brother Gary Norrie
in 1993; and his mother in-law, Dorothy Wilson in 2013.
A Memorial service will be held Wednesday January 14, at 3:30pm at the
Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located on the South Wheelock Road
in Lyndon Corner. A reception will follow at the Tom Breslin Center located
on Main St. in Lyndonville.
