Ocean Pines, Md - Laura Maulsby-Kline (nee Maulsby) died at home on January 23, 2019 after valiantly surviving aggressive cancer for 12 years. She lived since 2003 in Ocean Pines MD with her beloved husband Jim. There they enjoyed league bowling, Raven's Roost activities, Delmarva Shorebirds season games, and Laura's participation with local women's groups. In Baltimore as a 35 year employee of Bank of America and its predecessors, Laura belonged to the Gibson Island Club, The Junior League, National Association of Bank Women, and fan-fellowship for the Baltimore Orioles. Born and raised in Baltimore, Laura was schooled at Roland Park Country School and Garrison Forest School, and graduated from Lyndon Institute (VT). She is fondly remembered for her great work ethic, faithful friendships, independent and optimistic spirit. Primary family celebrating her life is her daughter Emily (Pateris) Costantine (NV), stepdaughter Meghan Whitehead (MD), stepson Timothy Kline (MD), grandchildren Sean, Kelly, and Lily, sisters Ellen Barclay-Post (AZ) and Jessica Fleming (NZ), and brother Michael (NM); also many cousins (especially Alice Thomas (VA)) and her husband's family (especially Sonia Kline Reynolds (MD)). She also is survived by a lifetime of friends who were embraced by her smiling face, listening ear, and welcoming heart. A secular celebration of her life is scheduled for March 30 at The Parke at Ocean Pines (410-208-4994), 2-4 pm. The family expresses their deepest gratitude for the kind and hopeful care Laura received from the compassionate medical staff at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Coastal Hospice, as well as her primary medical team, led by Dr. Roopa Gupta of the Regional Cancer Care Center, and the staff of Atlantic General Hospital (Berlin MD). Laura requested that any memorials be made to Atlantic General Hospital or to Women Supporting Women in lieu of flowers.
