Milton P. Newland, age 57, an East Burke resident, passed away
Friday, May 19, 2006, at his residence following a lengthy
illness. The son of Clinton D. and Ada L. (Easterbrooks)
Newland, Milton was born June 29, 1948, in St. Johnsbury. He
was a graduate of Lyndon Institute Class of 1966. He served in
the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. Milton enjoyed baseball,
fishing, hunting, card playing and carpentry. He was a member
of the VFW Lodge 10038 Lyndonville. Milton is survived by two
daughters, Theresa Marie Newland of South Wheelock and
Tammie Lynn Newland of Littleton, N.H.; mother, Ada Newland
of East Burke; brothers Clinton D. Newland, Jr. of Eliott, Maine,
Winston R. Newland of West Burke, Layton K. Newland and
Denton P. Newland, both of East Burke; twin sister, Maelene S.
Watson of West Danville; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Milton was predeceased by his father, Clinton D. Newland, and
a sister, Nancy J. Camber. A graveside service will be at the
Woodmont Cemetery, Saturday, June 17, at 11 a.m. Memorial
contributions may be made in Milton's name to either Norris
Cotton Cancer Center, 1080 Hospital Drive, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819; or the American Cancer Society, 13 Loomis St.,
Montpelier, VT 05602. Arrangements have been entrusted to
the care of Pearsons Funeral Home, located at 70 Church St., Lyndonville.
