Kenneth J. Ruggles, 69, of Monkton, Vermont, passed away on Aug. 4, 2015,
at University of Vermont Health Center. He was born March 16, 1946, in
Lyndonville, the son of Fred and Lorette Ruggles.
He was known by many as Pops or Doc. He retired from IBM, and worked for
Parker Excavation. He greatly enjoyed fishing and looking sexy on his John
Deere tractor. He had a special way of brightening up a room with his energy
and humor. Pops was a great father and grandfather to many.
He leaves his wife, Nancy A. Ruggles, of Monkton; two sons,
Eric Ruggles of Hinesburg and Roger Parker of Monkton; several
step children: Paul Parker, Mark Parker, Brian Parker, Pennie
Parker and Lonie Parker; his brothers: George and Gail
Ruggles, Peter and Gloria Ruggles, Steve and Nancy Ruggles,
Timothy and Laura Ruggles; sisters: Ann Fassett, Judy Bauley,
Linda and Fred Wells, Joyce and Marcel Dionne; and brothers-
and sisters-in-law: Robert Plante, Paul and Mary Ouellette,
Joyce and Richard Brialya, Alonzo and Joan Blackmore, Cynthia
Blackmore, David and Chris Blackmore; 12 grandchildren; and
four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Charles and
Alfred Ruggles; sister, Paula Jane Young; brother-in-law;
Robert Blackmore; and sister-in-law, Grace Plant; father-in-law
and mother-in-law, Alanzo and Emma Blackmore.
A celebration of his life will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, at 57A Parker Lane, Monkton, Vermont.
