Kenneth F. Hartwell, 74, passed away on May 31, 2015 at
Lafayette Center in Franconia, New Hampshire.
Ken was born in Lyndon, Vermont on Nov. 13, 1940, a son to Kermit and Violet
(Bundy) Hartwell. He graduated from Lyndon Institute in Lyndonville, Vermont where he
excelled in baseball, basketball, football and track.
He was employed by Public Service of New Hampshire where he worked for many
years as a lineman until a life changing accident on Jan. 3, 1989.
Ken was active in the community of Lisbon as a member of the Lisbon Lions Club. He was an avid golfer and
member of the Men's Twilight League where he carried a
handicap of 0-1. He also participated in the Men's softball and
bowling. His real passion was spending time in the woods
hunting which he was able to continue even after his injury.
Ken greatly enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren's
sporting events. He could often be seen out riding and stopping
for coffee and visits with friends and family.
Ken was predeceased by his father, Kermit Hartwell, Sr., his
step-mother Beverly Hartwell, and his wife, Arlene Hartwell.
He leaves three children, Gregory Hartwell and wife, Dianne,
Chris Hartwell, and Karen Hartwell Sexton and husband Steve;
four step-children, Lisa, Catherine, Carl and Philip; two
brothers, Kermit Hartwell, Jr., and Dennis Hartwell; four
grandchildren, Kristi Hartwell Driscoll and husband Luke,
Thomas Hartwell and fiancé Arielle Myers, Matthew McLachlin
and fiancé Brittany Sherburn and Demi Sexton as well as two
great grandchildren, Hadley Driscoll and Madison Hartwell.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 12 at 11 a.m.
at the Lisbon Shared Ministry White Church in Lisbon with Rev. Lyn Winter officiating.
