8/12/36 - 2/26/19; Mary Shattuck Tebbetts of Cabot died February 26. She was 82.
She was the wife of the late Arnold Tebbetts. The two farmed together for more than 40 years before his death in 2001.
Mary was a graduate of Lyndon Institute and the University of Vermont. She studied classics at UVM and taught Latin at Lyndon & Cabot Schools. She also was the former Cabot School Librarian. Mary loved antiques, gardening, wildflowers and nature. Mary also raced Saab cars in road rallies in Vermont during the 1950s.
She leaves behind two sons and their families, Rollin Shattuck Tebbetts of Cabot and Anson and Vicky Tebbetts of Cabot. Mary was predeceased by her first son Howard in 2009.
Mary leaves behind three grandchildren, Elijah John Tebbetts of Burlington, and Alden Cabot and Adelie Hope Tebbetts of Cabot. Mary is survived by her sister Sara Shattuck Moore of Dunedin, Florida.
Arrangements will be announced at a later time. Donations can be made in her name to the Cabot Public Library.
