Marilyn M. Legendre passed peacefully at her home Friday, April 17, 2015.
She was born to Thelma Mae (Woods) Fox and Claude Augustus Fox in June 1935
in Brownington, Vt. Marilyn was living with relatives after
losing her dad to an accident early in her life and then attended Rock Point
School for Girls in Burlington, Vt.. She had great memories of teachers and
classmates. She graduated from Lyndon Institute Class of 1954.
She attended her 60th class reunion in 2014 and had many nice memories.
She married Robert T. Legendre on Nov. 26, 1955 and they were proprietors of Bob's Amoco.
Marilyn took nursing courses at Brightlook Hospital and Franconia
Nursing Home. She later worked at Brightlook Hospital and St. Johnsbury
Convalescent Center as a nurse's aide. Marilyn also worked as a
waitress at Brickett's Diner as well as working at Burndy,
Hitchiner, and Walmart in Littleton, N.H.
She enjoyed gardening, birds, ocean visits, living in Skagway,
Alaska and her many great friends.
Survivors include her children, Debbie (Pete) Cushing of
Lyndonville, Vt.., Robert C. Legendre of Mesa, Ariz. and Jan M.
Stoddard of Portsmouth, N.H.; her grandchildren, Robert J.
Legendre, Windy Lee (Paul) Johnson, Tina Marie, Ashley and
Miranda Stoddard; her great granddaughter, Nikki Stoddard-
Lyons; her brothers, Maurice (Lillian) Fox of Berkshire, Mass.,
Glen (Carol) White of Mass. and Jerry (Linda) White of N.H.;
her sisters, Nance (Jim) Hayes of Seymour, Conn., Gail Robie of
Pittsfield, Mass. and Gloria (George) Crockwell and their
families who shared so much; her brother's-in-law, Francis
(Diane) Legendre, David (Sheila) Legendre of St. Johnsbury, Vt.
and Roger (Joan) Legendre of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; her sister-in-
law, Louise Lessard of Danville, Vt.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Bob in 1977
and her daughter Shari Lynn in 1964, her sister-in-law, Lorraine
(Paul) Desrochers and her brother-in-law, Joseph N. Lessard.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2015
at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in St. Johnsbury,
Vt. with Mr. John Sleeper officiating. There will be a gathering
at the Father Lively Center in St. Johnsbury following the service.
