St. Johnsbury, VT- Dale H. Chamberlain, 81, a longtime resident of St.
Johnsbury passed away peacefully at St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab on
July 12, 2016 He was born March 28, 1935 the son of Harvey and Sadie
(Paris) Chamberlain in Lyndonville, VT. Dale was an avid horseshoe player,
fisherman and outdoorsman and loved working on his land. Dale was
known for giving a family speech that could easily outlast most. He
graduated from Lyndon Institute and served on the USS Albany 123 in the
United States Navy for four years. He returned to St. Johnsbury and worked
for the Canadian Pacific St. J and LC Railroad for thirty years. Dale took an
early retirement and worked for St. Johnsbury Municipalities as a custodian
and very well adored school bus driver. He fully retired in 1995. Dale loved
spending time with his three grandsons, Steven Poulos, Justin and Joshua
Chamberlain as well as fishing and hunting. He loved cooking for his
granddaughter Kathryn Poulos especially her favorite hot chicken wings. He
is survived by his wife of fifty six years, Yolande ( Yolie) Perron
Chamberlain of St. Johnsbury, VT., one son, Mark Dale Chamberlain and his
wife Elaine and their children, Justin and Joshua Chamberlain of
Lyndonville, VT.; one daughter Diane Chamberlain and her two children
Kathryn and Steven Poulos of St. Johnsbury, VT. many, many relatives(
especially Yolies family as she is one of eighteen siblings; one brother
Donald Chamberlain and Elmore Paris and their families and a niece Kathy
Mulholland. Private graveside services will be held in the family lot in the
Lyndon Center Cemetery. A celebration of Dale's life will be held on Friday,
July 15, 2016 starting at 3 pm at the family's home at 96 Stetson Terrace in
St. Johnsbury, VT . In lieu of flowers a donation in his memory to the VFW
would be appreciated.
