Raymond R. Brooks, age 87, of Ray Avenue in Lyndonville, passed away at
the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab Center, Saturday, November 26, 2016.
Ray was born in Lyndon, VT, on August 11, 1929, son to the late Charles
and Blanche (Davis) Brooks. He was raised and educated in Lyndonville
graduating from Lyndon Institute in the Class of 1950. Ray served in the
VT National Guard during the Korean War and was employed with
Vermont Tap & Die/NE Tool Division as an Inspector for 38 years. He
enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and was a Jehovah Witness.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Siegrid Haase, of Lyndonville, his
sons: Bruce Brooks (Ann) of FL, Robert Brooks (Vicki) of W. Burke, his
daughters: Linda Bummel (Richard) of Atlanta, GA, Mary Murray (Michael)
of Jericho, VT, 4 brothers: Francis Brooks of Lyndonville, Norman Brooks
(Linda) of Greenville, NC, Donnie Brooks of Ayden, NC, Larry Brooks of
Lyndonville, a sister: Gloria LaCourse of Lyndonville, 8 grandchildren, 8
great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Ray was predeceased by his first wife Marion in 1988 and his brother
Ronnie Brooks in 2002.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2PM on Friday, December 2, 2016, at
the Lyndon Center Cemetery in Lyndonville. There will be no calling hours.
