Ruth J. Wilkins, 81, of Lyndon, died at her home Thursday
evening, Feb. 15, 2007. She was born Jan. 25, 1926, in
Lyndon, a daughter of the late Howard and Hortense (Ducham)
Brown. Ruth graduated from Lyndon Institute's Class of 1944. A
loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ruth was
an excellent cook whose baked goods were enjoyed by many.
She enjoyed sewing, working in her gardens, and feeding and
watching wild birds. In 1946 Ruth married Harold F. Wilkins.
They operated a dairy farm on the South Wheelock Road for
many years. He predeceased her on Nov. 7, 2002. Survivors
include two sons and their wives, Harold F. "Bub" and Thelma
Wilkins of Lyndon, and Steven and Pamela Wilkins of Lyndon;
three daughters, Pam Peters and her companion Wayland
Baxter of Glover, Gail Paquette of West Burke, and Marcia
Rainey and her husband Doug of Lyndon; 16 grandchildren; 38
great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother,
Edward Brown of West Burke; two sisters, Lucille Lavely and
her husband Arthur of St. Johnsbury Center, and Julie Carr of
Sutton; many nieces and nephews. Services will be private and
held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Lyndon
Center Cemetery. Memorial donations made in Ruth's memory
