Marjorie T. Allen, age 95 of Newark, DE, formerly of New Castle, DE died peacefully in her bed surrounded by her family on February 18, 2018. She was born in Lyndonville, VT in 1922, the only child of Hiram and Genevieve Tripp. She graduated from Lyndon Institute and Leslie College. Before meeting her husband, Ralph and moving to Delaware she was a kindergarten teacher in Peekskill, NY. In addition to being a stay at home mom of six she was a Fuller Brush Lady for many years. Margie was a friend to everyone. She always thought the best of people and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was a talented artist, making many paintings for family. She enjoyed many friends and activities at The Howard Weston Senior Center. She was a long time member of The Church of the Nativity. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Ralph M. Allen, JR who died in 1987 and her grandson Matthew Allen. She is survived by her six children Randy, Mitch (Sandy), Judi and her husband Rick Fetterman with whom she lived and who were her primary caregivers for many years, Bob (Barbara), Ron (Donna), and Rick (Kim), her grandchildren Genevieve (Steve), Rob, Chris, Brandon, Zachary, Ricky, and Evan, her step-grandchildren Isabella and Remy and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at The Church of the Nativity, 206 Sykes Road, New Castle, DE. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am Burial will be in Church of the Redeemer Cemetery, Bryn Mawr, PA. Memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Nativity or to Seasons Hospice of DE.
