Meriday Helene Danforth, age 94, formerly of St Johnsbury, VT, passed
away at the Pheasant Wood Center in Peterborough, NH, on Saturday,
February 27, 2016.
Meriday was born in Derby Line, VT, on August 2, 1921, daughter to the
late Obie Dyer Webb and Helen (Boucher) Webb. She was raised in
Lyndonville, VT and educated at Lyndon Institute, graduating in 1939.
Meriday worked as the Executive Assistant to senior management at
Fairbanks Morse until 1950. She was a homemaker and mother without
peer and was an accomplished cook and baker. Meriday was a pianist from
childhood until May 2015 at the age of 93, a lover of nature, photography
and gardening and an avid correspondent with friends and loved ones.
She is survived by her loving sons: David Alan Danforth of Newton, MA,
and his sons: Christopher & Justin, her son: Richard Keith Danforth,
Aethia, his wife and their sons: Lee Danforth, Shawn Danforth, Danielle,
his wife and their children: Logan & Keira, all of Santa Cruz, CA.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, David
Alexander Danforth in 1990.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Wednesday,
March 2, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Church on the corner of Main and
Winter Streets in St. Johnsbury with Rev. Fr. Chris Micale as celebrant.
Burial will take place at 11AM on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at the Mt.
Calvary Cemetery in St. Johnsbury, VT.
