The family of Reinette Bouffard is mourning her sudden and
untimely death. Reinette passed away peacefully Thursday
evening, March 15, 2007, at NVRH surrounded by her family.
Born in St. Johnsbury on Aug. 31, 1936, Reinette grew up on
Clark's Avenue with her parents, the late Ovila and Irene
(Landry) Gervais and her late sister Joanne. She graduated
from Mt. St. Joseph's Catholic school at the top of her class. In
her teens she worked at Landry's Drugstore which was founded
by her grandfather, Frank Landry. She went on to work for the
telephone company as a switchboard operator after graduation.
Her husband Louis passed away Dec. 7, 2004. They met in
graded school and became sweethearts, marrying in 1957.
They raised their family of six children at their Pearl Street
home. Reinette devoted her life to her husband, children and
her grandchildren. Her family reflects how all their friends felt
welcomed at their home. She had a passion for gardening,
decorating, cooking, and most especially supporting all her
family's sporting events. She will be sadly missed by all.
Reinette is survived by her six children: Ronald, Michael, Andre
and his wife Margaret, Diane Morey and her husband Allen,
Maurice "Muzzy," and Joanne Shumbo and her husband Joseph.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Jennifer, Julian, April,
Riley, Christine, Michelle, Olivia, Michael, Joseph, Tucker, and
Andre Jr. She loved her dog Cocoa and referred to her as her
"little angel." Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday,
March 19, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial
will be at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours
will be held Sunday from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests contributions be directed to The Good Shepherd
Foundation, P.O. Box 146, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819.
