Harry P. Nash , 76, died Saturday, Feb. 20 at home in Quechee, Vt.,
surrounded by his family. He was born March 31, 1933, in St. Johnsbury,
Vt., a son of Harry and Dorothy (Williams) Nash. He attended school in St.
Johnsbury and graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy before serving in
Germany with the U.S. Army from 1950 until 1953. After his service in the
Army he attended college for a time and in April of 1954 married Theresa
Rita Morin. He worked at Fafnir Ball Bearing in Connecticut moving to
Florida in 1964. While in Florida he worked as a delivery driver and later
in marine construction for Ebsary Construction. After Mr. Nash's first wife
died in a motor vehicle accident, he was remarried to Nancy Roemer in
Hialeah, Fla., Feb. 26, 1972. They moved to the Upper Valley in 1974, living
first in Lebanon, N.H., and more recently in Quechee. After moving to the
area Harry worked at Trumbull-Nelson in Hanover, N.H., and later was the
manager of Kentucky Fried Chicken in West Lebanon, then worked at
Thetford Academy, retiring after the 1997-1998 school year. Mrs. Nash
died in February 2002. Harry was an active member and Past Exalted
Ruler of Hartford Lodge 1541 B.P.O.Elks and a member of American Legion
Post 26 in White River Junction. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking
and locksmithing. Mr. Nash is predeceased by three brothers William C.,
Ronald A., and James Paradis, as well as two sisters Alice McGee and Betty
Lamont. He is survived by two sons, Daniel A. Nash of Lebanon, N.H., and
Ralph O. Nash of Goose Creek, S.C.; two daughters, Linda Oliver of Barre,
Vt., and Martha Phelps of Thetford, Vt.; many grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; a sister, Clara Kimball of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; several
nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Knight Funeral Home in White
River Junction on Friday, Feb. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be
held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dale Edwards officiating.
