Frederick L. Daniell , of St. Johnsbury, died peacefully at home Monday
evening, Dec. 4, 2006, at the age of 79. He was born Nov. 1, 1927 in West
Danville to Leslie and Rose (Crepeault) Daniell. He went to St. Johnsbury
Trade School. In March 1945, he entered the Navy and served for two years
in Pennsicola, Fla. He married Mildred Paro on Sept. 20, 1947. Known as
"The Candy Man," Fred, and later his son Gary, owned and operated Tasty
Treats, a candy distributing company based in St. Johnsbury. Their route
took them even north of the Canadian border, into New Hampshire, Barre,
Montpelier, and as far south as Fairlee. He was a member of the Elks BPOE
1343, the American Legion Post 58 and TOPS. He is survived by his wife,
Mildred; two sons, Gary Daniell and his wife Sharon of Danville, and
Richard Daniell and his wife Dawn of St. Johnsbury; seven grandchildren,
Casey, Kyle and Devin Daniell, Nick, Travis and Jill Daniell, and Paul
Touchstone; his brother, Albert Daniell of St. Johnsbury; cousins, nieces
and nephews; and his customers, who were always more than just
customers, they were his friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy
Berube. It was Fred's wish that his funeral be limited to just his immediate
