HALE: Donald W. "Donnie," 51, of St. Johnsbury, passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2003,
at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. He was
born in St. Johnsbury, Oct. 6, 1951, the son of Walter and Louva
(Houghton) Hale. Before his disability he worked at Connors Footwear in
Lisbon. He was a graduate of St. Johnsbury Trade School. He is survived by
his wife, Ernestine (Corliss) Hale (8 McGill Ave., No. 11, St. Johnsbury, VT
05819); his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Bethany Hale of Danville;
one granddaughter, Paige; four brothers, Walter of Connecticut, Howard
of Florida, Glendon of Lyndonville, and James of Danville; three sisters,
Marilyn St. Hilaire of Florida, Bonita Mackay and Cheryl Jacobs, both of
Connecticut; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Stanley; and a sister, Patricia
Powers. Visiting hours will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home, Tuesday,
Sept. 23, 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 10
a.m., at the North Congregational Church on Main Street in St. Johnsbury.
The Rev. Jay Sprout will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant
