Betty June Morse , 70, of Weld Road, Groton, Vt. died March 4, 2007, at her
residence following an extended illness. She was born in Danville, Vt., June
29, 1936, the daughter of Carrold and Rebecca (Cardinal) Davis. She
graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy and went to work for
Sears-Roebuck & Company in St. Johnsbury. After spending time in Florida
where she was a telephone operator, she married Norman Morse on Jan.
19, 1957. Then she worked as a bookkeeper at the Gerald Morse Poultry
Farm in Groton, and later served as secretary for the Groton Selectboard
for many years. Betty was a member of the Groton United Methodist
Church, and Auxiliary Unit 20 American Legion Ross-Wood Post of
Woodsville, N.H., and for several years volunteered as a 4-H leader in
Groton. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Norman B. Morse, and
children Michael A. Morse and wife Susan of Panama City, Fla., Deborah S.
Dailey and husband Timothy Sr. and Susan D. LeBlanc, both of Groton; six
grandchildren, Christina Welch of Old Weathersfield, Conn., Timothy
Dailey Jr. of Wells River, Erin Morse of Groton, Lance Morse of Charlotte,
N.C., and Tari Morse and Bryan LeBlanc, both of Groton; and one
great-grandson, Dylan Morse. Calling hours will be Friday, March 9, from
6-8 p.m., at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch St., Woodsville, N.H. A memorial
service will be held Saturday, March 10, at 11 a.m., in the Groton United
Methodist Church, with Pastor Candace Ricker officiating. Refreshments
will follow the service in the church vestry. Burial will be in the Groton
Village Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to
