Robert C. Wason died at Marlborough Health Care Center on Dec. 27,
2006. He was the son of Walter S. Wason and Ethel Raymond Wason
of Greenwich, Conn. He was born in Greenwich on Jan. 25, 1916, and
graduated from Greenwich High School. He received a degree in
education from the Teachers College of Connecticut (now Central
Connecticut State University), and a master's degree from New York
University. During World War II, Wason served in the U.S. Army until
he transferred to the U.S. Air Force as a 2nd lieutenant. He retired
from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel. He was married to Helen F.
Downs on June 17, 1942, in Greenwich. The couple had five children,
David S. Wason, Tod H. Wason, Elizabeth A. Wason, Nancy L. Wason
and Peter S. Wason. Robert Wason taught industrial arts in the
Greenwich school system for 26 years. In 1966, he moved his family
to Peacham, Vt., where he taught for nine more years at St. Johnsbury
Academy. His dedication to teaching continues. He has donated his
body to the UConn School of Medicine for anatomical study. He is
survived by his wife, Helen; his sons and daughters and their
spouses; his eight grandchildren, Norah Wason, Rebecca Lyon, Aimee
and Sarah Robear, Abigail Bartell Krone, Asa Bartell, and Brendan
and Brianna Wason; and one great-grandson, Elijah Adam Krone. A
memorial Eucharist will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in
Hebron, Conn., on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at 11 a.m. Remembrance

CT 06248; or to the charity of one's choice.
