Andy Shattuck of Barnet Center died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Barnet Sunday afternoon, April 15, 2010. He was 21.
He was born in St. Johnsbury on Jan. 9, 1991, the son of Stephen J. Shattuck and Laurie Sloan.
Andy attended Barnet Graded School and graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 2009. He worked with his father at Vermont Recreational Surfacing and Fencing since his graduation. Andy loved doing anything outside, especially four wheeling, snowmobiling, and being on his dirt bike.
He had a big heart and would give the shirt off his back if he could help. He loved hanging out with his many friends including his best friend Nate Mitchell, buddies since early childhood.
He is survived by his father Stephen J. Shattuck and wife Lee of Barnet Center; his mother Laurie Sloan and Scott Lynaugh of St. Johnsbury; paternal grandmother Marie Shattuck of St. Johnsbury; maternal grandparents John and Ernestine Sloan of Keene N.H.; maternal great-grandmother Edith Sloan of Derby Line; brother Matthew Sloan of St. Johnsbury; three sisters, Sasha Shattuck of St. Johnsbury; Sammantha Shattuck of St. Johnsbury; and Amber Poginy of Newport Center; four step-siblings, Brandon and John Skinner; Mandi and Krystine MacMahan; nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, great aunts and uncles, cousins, and his puppy named Lennon. Andy had a big heart for all animals.
Visiting hours will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home Friday, April 20 from 6-8 p.m.
