LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Susan McClaughry died Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at a Louisville, Kentucky hospital after a lifelong battle with lung disease.
Susan was the daughter of the Rev. Alice Roberts of Newport and John McClaughry of Kirby, Vermont. She was born Sept. 15, 1977, at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont in Burlington and grew up in Kirby, Vermont. She spent her freshman year at St. Johnsbury Academy, two years at Rindge and Latin High School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and her senior year at St. Johnsbury Academy, where she graduated in the Class of 1995. She graduated from the University of North Carolina - Charlotte with an A.B. in psychology in 1999.
She worked for 10 years at the Harvard University Health Services Pharmacy in Cambridge MA, where she was a certified pharmacy technician and pharmacy buyer. Susan moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 2013.
Susan is survived by her parents; her sister, Anna Rose of Washington, D.C., and husband Thomas Petzwinkler; sister Matri Lamb of Portland, Maine; brother Richard S. Lamb of Greenfield, New Hampshire; as well as nephews Jake Boesen of Washington, D.C., and Hayden Gehr of San Francisco, California.
Susan was well-known and loved by her family and all those who knew her in the Newport area while she was living with her mother. She will be sadly missed.
