Paul A. Martin , 35, native of St. Johnsbury, Vt., currently of Spencerport, N.Y., passed away suddenly on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008. Born in St. Johnsbury, on June 18, 1973, Paul was the son of Ann Martin and the late Donald E. Martin. He attended St. Johnsbury Academy and graduated with the class of 1991. In 1997, Paul graduated from R.I.T. with a degree in electrical engineering. He was currently employed at MKS Instruments as an electrical engineer. Paul was a licensed Ham radio operator and was proud to carry on the call numbers WA1NVP that were also his dad's. He was also an active member of the ARRL (American Radio Relay League), the national association for Amateur Radio. In addition to his hobbies Paul enjoyed traveling for work to many places all over the world, but he especially loved taking his wife and daughter this past summer to Disney World. On July 26, 2003, he married Amanda Finch at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Hamilton, N.Y. After the wedding Paul and Amanda moved to San Jose, Calif., where their family grew when they were blessed with the birth of their daughter Chloe Ann Martin on June 2, 2006. Shortly after the birth of Chloe they moved back to Spencerport to be closer to their families. Besides his beloved wife Amanda and cherished daughter Chloe, Paul is survived by his mother Ann Martin of Greece, N.Y.; his sister Linda Roberts of Rutland, Vt.; nephews Charles and Robert Neumann; his father and mother-in-law James and Diane Finch of Hamilton, N.Y.; as well as his sister-in-law Rebecca and her husband Mark McFarland of Clayville, N.Y. He was predeceased by his father Donald M. Martin June 10, 2007. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Walker Brother Co. Funeral Home at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Chloe Martin Education Fund, in his memory.
