Charles William Murray, age 42, of Gaskell Hill Road, West Burke, passed away at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017.
Chuck was born in St. Johnsbury on March 29, 1974, son of the Robert and Edith (Mitchell) Murray. He was raised in West Burke attending Lyndon Institute for three years and graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1992.
He attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colo., followed by Castleton State College, and then University of New England in Portland, Maine, obtaining a Masters degree. He married Bridget Erickson on Oct. 4, 1997. Chuck worked as an anesthetist at DHMC for three years and most recently had been at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury, Vt. for two years.
Chuck enjoyed spending time with family and being outdoors. He loved playing Lacrosse with his daughter, Makenzie, and motocross and snowcross with his son, Jackson. He just really liked to be out in the woods. He volunteered with Ecuadent
making two trips to Ecuador providing medical care in remote locations, and this was very close to his heart.
He is survived by his mother: Edith Murray of West Burke; his wife: Bridget Murray of West Burke; a son: Jackson Murray of West Burke; a daughter: Makenzie Murray of West Burke; a sister: Kelly Murray-Liberty and husband, Thomas, of Lyndonville, Vt.; 2 nephews: Stephen McNally and son Trenton, and Nicholas Malshuk; and a niece: Madison Murray.
He was predeceased by his father, Robert Murray, in December 2011.
Friends may call on the family from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at Guibord Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Lyndonville, Vt. A funeral service officiated by Rev. John Sleeper will follow immediately at 12 noon at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be in care of Bridget Murray, 189 Gaskell Hill Rd, West Burke, 05871 to be used to fund an upcoming trip with Ecuadent.
