Timothy Persons of St. Johnsbury, Vt., died on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Tim was 52 years old.
He was born on August 9, 1965, in St. Johnsbury. He graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy and later Vermont Technical College with a degree in electrical engineering. Tim owned and operated Persons Carpentry, a construction company based in St Johnsbury.
Tim was an active member of the Union Baptist Church and volunteered his time at the Covered Bridge Therapeutic Community. Tim almost always had a business of his own and he often hired people who were between jobs or needed a fresh start. He wanted to help others get their life back on track if he could, not with a simple handout but by providing them with a way to earn an income. Tim was not a quitter
if he believed something to be true he would stand in that truth and not budge regardless of what people around him were saying. He believed in doing his part to make the world a better place.
We are so proud of Tim
his life did not go as he had planned, life rarely does, but he was patient, he was kind, and he was giving. He was loyal and trusting
perhaps to a fault at times. Tim believed strongly in the importance of seeing the good in others. Tim was best known for his willingness to lend a helping hand, his positive attitude, good natured antics and his laugh. He will be greatly missed.
Tim is survived by his parents Delano and Sarah Persons; his siblings: Tom Carpenter, Rebecca Kinerson and husband Kevin, Roxanne Roberts and husband Jeremy. Tim also leaves behind two daughters and four nieces.
A Memorial Service and reception will be held at Union Baptist Church on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 6:30 p.m., all are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Celebrate Recovery Program run by the Union Baptist Church.
