Bryan John Fontaine of Cliff Street in St. Johnsbury died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the age of 45 with his son, Tyler, by his side.
He was born in Woonsocket, R.I., on May 23, 1968, the son of Raynald (Ronald) and Evelyn (Cox) Fontaine. He was a 1988 graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy and recently joined the men's auxiliary at VFW Post #793.
Bryan was employed as a Project Superintendent with H.P. Cummings out of Woodsville, N.H., for the past seven years. Prior, he worked with Don-Vac Construction for 10 years and before that spent eight years at EHV. There really wasn't anything he couldn't do or figure out. He loved to play golf and go kayaking, hunting, playing around on the tractor, sitting in front of bonfires and enjoying the sweet summer air out on the deck. The camp he shared with his little sister in North Danville on the Coles Pond Road was his favorite place. He was whole-heartedly dedicated to his family and friends. Bryan will be sadly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Kim of St. Johnsbury; his son, Tyler Fontaine of Danville; his daughter, Brittany Terhune of Hardwick; his mother, Evelyn Carter and husband Colin of Barton; maternal grandmother, Sarah Cox of East Lyndon; two brothers: Paul Fontaine and wife Kim of South Burlington; Roger Fontaine and wife Heather of Lyndonville; one sister, Annette Jewell and Kris McAllister of Passumpsic; step-sisters: Christelle Plourde of Dallas, Texas, and Corey Boardman of Swanton, Vt.; and by Kim's son, Alexander Belliveau; and her parents, Fred and Pat Harris each of St. Johnsbury; many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A gathering of friends and family will be held in St. Johnsbury Tuesday, May 20, from 6-8 p.m. at the Sayles Funeral Home located at 525 Summer St. Anyone wishing to attend is welcome. A celebration of his life will be held in North Danville at the family camp on Sunday, June 29, at 1 p.m.
