Teal Rae (Isham) Couture, age 57, of North Ferrisburgh, Vt., passed away on Sept. 11, 2018 at UVM Medical Center in Burlington, Vt. surrounded by her family.
Teal graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1979 and then went on to graduate from Lyndon State College in 1983. She married Joseph Couture on March 3, 1984. They resided in St. Johnsbury, Vt. until 1996 when they relocated to Vergennes and North Ferrisburgh, Vt.
Teal enjoyed sports of all kinds. In her younger years, she was recruited by the Braves, a St. Johnsbury Little league team as the bat girl. She continued her baseball passion to be the first girl in Vermont to play in the boys Babe Ruth League. She loved to write poetry. The RUHEN was a family favorite.
She made a career in Manufacturing, most recently at Kuerig Green Mountain in Williston, Vt.
Teal is survived by her husband Joseph Couture of 34 years. Two children, a son Nate Couture of Vergennes, Vt. and a daughter Nicole White and husband Tyler of Tuscola, Ill., one grandson, Gavin Couture of Vergennes, Vt. She also leaves behind her mother Joan Isham of St. Johnsbury, Vt. and siblings Keith Isham and wife Teresa of Kirby, Vt., Pam Robie of St. Johnsbury, Vt., Jeff Isham and wife Susan of West Newbury, Vt. She is also survived by her mother in law Jacqueline (Nan) Couture of Vergennes, Vt., brother in law Mathew Couture of Panton, Vt., sister in law Michelle Heitkamp, Rutland, Vt. and her 2 puppies Chloe and Kimber. She leaves a very special aunt, Brenda Easter of Winter Haven, Fla. and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is predeceased by her father, Leonard (Bud) Isham in 1989, her father in law Edward Couture in 2005 along with her maternal grandparents, Henry and Ruth Ramsdell, and paternal grandparents, Helen and Morris Isham.
There will be no visiting hours or services per Teals wishes, however, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Nans house, 102 Locust Lane, Vergennes, Vt. All family and friends are welcome.
