Stephen N. Cree, age 66, of Secaucus, passed away on Tuesday January 28th. Stephen was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont to the late Stephen and Joyce Cree and lived there for most of his life before moving to Secaucus 30 years ago. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in the town of Park Ridge for 36 years before retiring less than a year ago. He was truly loved by the people on his route and he cared deeply for all the people and families who he had the pleasure of meeting in the town of Park Ridge.
He will truly be missed as he left a beautiful mark on everyone he met.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife Hope Mansfield Cree; stepchildren, Robert Mansfield and his wife Mariuxi, Melanie Mansfield and her boyfriend James De Blasio, and Autumn Mansfield; Sister, Rachel Sherman and her husband Arnie; many loving nieces and nephews; and his devoted puppy Mr. Wilson. He is predeceased by his sister Cassie Patrissi and his dogs Malcom, Penelope, and Nigel. As everyone who knew Steve, he was a devoted animal lover and would do anything to help rescue animals from harm. He enjoyed playing with his agility dog Malcom and could be seen practicing the runs for their next competition. When he lost his dog Malcolm he yearned for another agility dog. He hadn't found the one .
Steve loved cars and driving. Many a day off was spent just driving through the countryside.
Steve was an avid traveler and spent weeks going through different countries. His favorite trip was the last one that he took to Greece.
We will all miss his happy smile and he was happiest having his wife by his side.
A visitation for Stephen will be held Thursday, January 30th from 5 to 9PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. where a prayer service will be offered from 8:30 to 9:00 PM.
