James L. Parker , 52, resident of Brookline, N.H., died on Oct. 14, 2010, at his home. He was born in Concord, Vt., on March 11, 1958, a son of Wilbur L. "Cody" Parker of Rochester, N.H., and the late Elaine (Mooney) Parker. Jim was raised and educated in Vermont and graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy, Class of 1976. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1982. For the past five years, he resided in Brookline, N.H., and had formerly lived in Pittsfield, N.H., for many years. He was employed by Iron Workers Union Local No. 7, Boston, Mass., for 30 years. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting, fly-fishing and made many trips to the Arctic Circle. He was a member of the Horse Pond Fish & Game Club of Nashua, N.H., and the National Rifle Association. Jim was a loving father and will always be remembered for his ability to form instant friendships with anyone he met. In addition to his father, family members include a son, Dakota Parker of Manchester, N.H.; a daughter, Nicole Parker of Concord, N.H.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pamela and Michael Demers of Pembroke, N.H., Susan and David Simms of Pensacola, Fla.; his loving longtime companion, Shelley Laurencio of Brookline, N.H.; stepchildren, Christopher and Leah Laurencio of Nashua, N.H., Tiffany Laurencio of Essex, Mass.; a grandson, Christopher James Laurencio; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Visiting hours are Monday, Oct. 18, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, N.H. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Horse Pond Fish & Game Club, 13 Horsepond Avenue, Nashua, NH 03063, for the James L. Parker Scholarship.
