Jack Kyle DeKoeyer of St. Johnsbury died May 24, 2011, at the age of 57.
Jack graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy with the class of 1971. In
Florida he worked as a carpenter with a large scale building
contracting company. He was living at the Depot Square Apartments at
the time of his death. Jack grew up in West Barnet around Harvey's Lake where he got
his love of the outdoors. In his day he knew all about what you could
and couldn't eat in the woods, knowledge from which he derived the
nickname "Outback Jack!" Jack was really a multi-talented individual
in many ways: landscaping, carpentry, artist, car detailing, and
making dandelion wine. He was fortunate enough to have attended
many concerts and loved the music of Credence Clearwater Revival.
He is survived by his mother, Mary DeKoeyer of St. Johnsbury; his
father, Jack H. DeKoeyer and Inge Gray of Littleton, N.H.; eight
brothers and sisters: Carol Ann Keys of Hooksett, N.H.; Susan
Caldwell of Boynton Beach, Fla.; Mike DeKoeyer and Michelle Travis
of West Barnet; Michelle "Missy" Moen and husband Las of New
Smyrna Beach, Fla.; Patricia 'Tresa' DeKoeyer of Concord; Mark
DeKoeyer and Sherri Gervais of Passumpsic; Lisa DeKoeyer and
husband Joe of Pompano Beach, Fla.; Cindy Rodd and husband Casey
of St. Johnsbury; eight nieces and nephews: Christopher, Tracey, and
Micah; Sara; Shon; Joseph, Jackie, and Chelsea; nine great-nieces; two
great-nephews; one great-great-niece; many aunts and uncles, and
cousins. He was predeceased by a sister Jackie and a nephew Seth.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Sayles Funeral
Home this Sunday afternoon from 2-4PM. Anyone wishing to attend is welcome; come as you are.
