Gracelyn Allen of St. Johnsbury passed away Wed., Jan. 19, 2011 at the age of 59
after a brief illness. Gracelyn graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy with the class of 1970
and went on to complete her studies at Champlain College. She immediately went to work at
St. Johnsbury Trucking and worked there for 21 years until the company closed.
She later worked as a cashier at Ames and Price Chopper. She was born in St. Johnsbury on
Aug. 11, 1951, the daughter of Stanley and Joyce (Kennedy) Allen. Her father passed away
July 23, 2007. She is survived by her mother, Joyce; two brothers, Stephen Allen and wife
Bevalie of Sutton, Sterry Allen and wife Kathie of Acton, Maine; three nephews, Nicholas
Allen, Alex Allen and wife Stacy, and Jason Allen; two great-nieces, Isabella
and Julia; aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her family will observe their services privately.
She will be buried in Lyndon Center Cemetery next to her father.
